Over the holidays someone broke into the Vanderbilt's home. Luckily, their maid had not gone to sleep yet. The whole Vanderbilt family woke up to see what all the screaming and yelling was about. Once Angie's father had an understanding the situation he threatened to call the police on the thief. The thief was a girl and she had looked poor. Her clothes were dirty, hair was a mess, and her eyeliner was messy. Angie's mother, Jenny, was more sympathetic toward the girl and had he wash up and served her tea. The former thief's name was Bryn Calosi, and she was an orphan. She had broken into their house because of hunger. That is, before Angie convinced her parents to adopt her. Angie saw the girl's situation as the answer to her loneliness, and longing to have a sibling. At first the girl had rejected the idea, but then Angie opened the Bryn's eyes to her situation (not in a very pleasant way either). After all the legal stuff was finished Angie had a sister. Angie was used to getting her way, and she was so naive at times she failed to notice people's annoyance with her. She had saw what she wanted, and she went all in for it. Failure was never and option.
Dear Sister,

How are you? Are you adjusting well to your new home? I am so happy that you agreed to let my parents adopt you! Now you aren't a bum on the street, and I have an older sister. It is a total win/win situation. I still have yet to tell all my friends here at Hogwarts that I now have a sister! I cannot wait to see their reactions. I hope they will be happy for me, and for you to Bryn.

I know you are probably still mad at my parents and I for trying to keep a secret that I am a witch. You should think of it from our point of view though, sis. We had no clue that your parents were magical. Or that you are a Squib. What is a Squib? I keep forgetting to ask my roommate, JazzyMae, to look it up for me. JazzyMae is very smart, and I hope you will be able to meet her. She has two elder brothers that are home schooled. Would you want to meet them too. Wait, I haven't even met them yet so nevermind.

Do you enjoy going to the private school I picked out for you? Even though it is a private school it has free dress. You love it don't you? You are getting a better quality education than at that other school. Have you met any guys yet? Have you seen any cute guys? I hope so because I chose that school for that too. I really care about you Bryn. I really do. I hope you will understand that soon.

Lots of love,
Angie Vanderbilt

Angie headed to the Owlery, and gave the owl very specific directions. She smiled as she watched the owl take off.

Bryn's first day at her new school was horrid. The students there were spoiled, and Bryn was not used to that. She could not believe what she had gotten herself into. She hoped that her parents were watching over her. Bryn wondered if the penalty for breaking into the Vanderbilt's house was adoption. If so, she felt sorry for all the future thieves. In Bryn's eyes Angie was a spoiled brat that got whatever she wanted. She admired her persistence and caring nature though. Bryn saw how lonely she was through all the makeup and pretty clothes. Bry could she how happy her face had gotten when she looked at her. But Bryn refused to get close. She snatched her letter from the maid and began to write.
Dear Angie,

I am not no matter what you say your sister. I also do not want you to tell your friends about me. I am surprised you even have friends. You probably are going to prove to them that whatever you tell your parents you want, you get.

You think you can make your roommate do all the reading for you? Ugh, you are so, just...ugh. I feel sorry for her. A Squib is someone who is born to magical parents and does not have any magical abilities. I do not want to hear about your adventures or whatever at Hogwarts New Zealand. Do not rub in my face that you can use magic and I cannot.

The school is dreadful. The boys there have no aim other than to get into girl's pants. Is boys all you think about? I wonder how you will fair at an all girls school. Not like a quality Muggle education will do me any good. My dreams of becoming an auror are crushed. My dream of being able to be a great witch is ruined. I had those dreams since I was little. You will never understand! I guess a mudblood like you was more worthy of being able to learn magic then I was. Never write me again.

Bryn Calosi
Bryn gave the letter back to the owl. Tears stained the letter itself and it's envelope.
