Henri had come outside, the quidditch practice was just over and he'd tripped on the way to the changing room. he was just unwilling to go back inside, even though the weather was pretty terrible. Overcast, though not raining, and cold but not too cold. He glanced towards the school and where others were going but headed to the lake, taking out the book he'd been reading and finding a dry enough spot to sit and read it by the lakefront. He liked being back at school, but everyone was seemingly so much more excitable than previous years and he just wanted some peace.

Arachne loved the weather like this. The dark and gloomy clouds hanging in the sky made her feel like the world had paused and everything was quiet and still. It made her feel like she was the only person in the world. She had headed out, sketchbook under her arm, even though she knew there was a chance it might rain. Arachne had found a quiet spot near the lake to sketch and had let her mind wander, drawing a mixture of things around her and things from her mind. She was working on a drawing of the lake with a giant spider crawling out of it, when she suddenly realized someone was sitting nearby. She wasn't sure if he had been here first or if she had, because he was just as quiet as she was. Had he seen her? Arachne paused her drawing and stared at him. He had broken the illusion of her being alone, and she wasn't sure what to do now.

Henri was a little in his own world, as he tended to be. he wasn't the most observant, didn't always notice the things which were right in front of him. Much less those off to the side. He had his book open in front of him and was reading with a feeling like he maybe wasn't alone, but not enough of a care to look around. He reached for his bag, to pull out a quill to be able to take some notes and accidentally caused his water bottle to fall out. Clearly he hadn't put the lid on very well because there was water everywhere.

Arachne knew staring was considered weird and that she might get an angry comment once the boy noticed her, but once she had seen him she couldn't stop herself from looking at him. It wasn't that he was particularly interesting, not any more than other people, but Arachne always liked to observe others. When the boy grabbed a quill and his water bottle fell out, Arachne made a small noise. Then she realized she should probably say something. "Um. There's water." She said, gesturing vaguely at his bag.

Henri heard a noise, and then a voice. He glance round suddenly. "Oh sh1t," he muttered as he pulled his bag away from the mess and went to grab the water bottle, to stop it spill more water out. "Sorry," he said to the girl who had possibly been caught in it. "didn't close this right," he closer the now mostly empty water bottle over and went to check if he'd damaged anything in his bag. He hadn't noticed this girl there, either as he'd approached or possibly as she had.
