Lina had her children at a very young age. She was never the mothering type though she did grow into the role as she aged. More often than night, she would leave her children alone while she went off at night to bartend or waitress. She claimed that since they were sleeping, the girls wouldn't even notice she was gone. That was true while the girls were babies but as they grew older, they noticed. She never held a job for long, preferring to sleep in herself or as was usual with her, preferring to find a boyfriend who would take care of her until she found another boyfriend.
Sola and her mother have a very difficult relationship, which inevitably led to her leaving her home.

Gracie, the elder of the two sisters, was carefree even from a young age. She was never much for cooking, cleaning or doing anything that needed to be done to maintain a household. As soon as she was old enough, Gracie began spending a lot of time away from home, choosing to sleep at friend's homes rather than her own. She attended Beauxbatons Academy, her mother's alma mater, and graduated with no plans for her future except to have a baby with the love of her life. The baby came (in 2024) but by that point the 'love of her life' was long gone, off to work in his father's Potions shop.

After forging a note from her mother, Sola was finally able to get herself away from Beauxbatons, a school she hated. She hated the students, finding most of them to be spoiled, rich kids.
