Hamish clutched his wand, and pointed it in front of him as he wandered through the halls in his slippers and night-robes. The young Slytherin was not what one would call adventurous, unlike every other member of his family, which consisted of aurors, dragon tamers, and trouble makers, Hamish liked to remain within the lines of sensibility, and not even poke fun at set rules. However, tonight he felt he had no choice. After not being able to sleep, he found himself forcibly removed from the Common room by some older b!tch, and being only a second year that rarely used the magic he possessed, he had no way of defending himself, or standing his ground. Therefore, a tactical retreat was made, and here was where it brought him. To the Second Floor. In the dark. And the cold. Alone.

"Oh God," he muttered to himself, trying to remain as quiet as possible. If he was caught, he wasn't sure what he would do. He liked not getting into any trouble, because his head of house was possibly the most horrifying creature on the planet, and if he got a letter sent home his sister would skin him alive. With one sibling expelled, and the other achieving well, no disobedience on his end would be tolerated. He froze, however, when he heard footsteps. He flicked his wand, "Nox," and began trying to look for a place to hide - but there was no where to hide. "Oh my God, sh!t, cr@p, fuu-" His final curse turned more into a high-pitched screech as the back of his collar and was wrenched back behind a curtain. Upon realising that he wasn't alone, he quickly shut his mouth behind his own hand and his eyes widened at who he saw.

"Ja-JaQuan?!" he whispered frantically, fixing the curtain straight to try and hide himself better. He stumbled to find some words to use that weren't offensive, or loud. He took a deep breath, and focused on the window beside them. "What are you doing here?"

JaQuan couldn't deny that he was a trouble maker, and always would be. He liked to be out late, explore, and reach new heights when escaping. Now he had narrowly rounded a corner and hid from a rather angry prefect who must have been looking for him by now. JaQuan peaked from his curtain, the pesky thing nearly impossible to get a view from. He had just pulled on a velvet fold to reveal the hallways, when a figure he recognized well walked passed. Without thinking, or really saying anything, JaQuan tugged on the collar of the boy in his pajamas and brought him behind the curtain. It was obvious he'd surprised the man with the slew of curses slipping from the second year's lips. "Shh, Hamish, shh!" He urged his friend in a whispering tone that signified if he didn't silence himself, the boy might do it for him.

"I'm just out for a walk." He said with a chuckling tone, the fear on Hamish's face obvious even in the dark. With a slight smile on his face he then quited, hearing footsteps. They walked passed once, twice, and then were silent before walking away again, muttering about losing him. "Idiot." Jay muttered before addressing his friend. "What are you doing out here, Hay?"

Shh. Shhh?! He went grabbing Hamish like that and he was supposed to be calm? Hamish's nostrils flared. There were many occasions during class where he found himself being told off because of Jaquan. He liked the boy, he really did. He would help him out with work when needed, and it was always nice to have someone there to write essays with. But Jaquan liked to cause trouble, and Hamish always found himself dragged into it. It was a nightmare being his friend, sometimes, especially when all Hamish wanted to do was be a wallflower and skirt through the school with absolutely no trouble coming his way.

He was about to yell at him laughing, when he heard footsteps. The Slytherin froze completely, holding his breath, and pressed his back against the wall. After the footsteps moved away until he could no longer hear them, he finally released his breath and ran his hands through his hair. He looked at Jaquan, and took a moment to reply after he licked his lips. "I was, um, kicked out of the Common room by some b!tch," he mumbled quietly, poking his head out from the curtain. "What if they come back?" he whispered, referring to the professor. "Move. We should move, like, leave." Preferably back to the common room and to bed.

The ebony skinned boy looked at his friend, dark eyes focusing in the darkness behind the curtain. To him he couldn't help but think that the boy's minor freak out was comical. Hamish was not the kind to be in trouble, and often if he was it was because of JaQuan or another one of his friends or enemies. He rubbed the top of his head, the fuzz that was his hair tickling his palms.

"Was it the blonde? She was down there when I moved to sneak out. Real with if you know what I'm mean." He chuckled, though did not use the same harsh words his companion used. He instead opted for something a bit more punny - as he would most of the time. He too peaked through the curtain. "Come on." He said, pulling his friend along so that he could escape safely. He pulled him into a dark corner and glanced around for anyone patrolling the hallways. "Hey, if we get caught we get caught together, right?" He commented with a laugh. "Why did you let that girl kick you out?"

Hamish nodded, remembering the girl well. Better than that ratty Hufflepuff though. He didn't really like conflict, or standing around arguing with people when it was easier to just leave and go somewhere more interesting. He did find the pun funny, but his face wouldn't have said he did. He barely cracked a smile. He was much too concerned with the fact that they were hiding behind a curtain, of all things, in the dark, in the middle of the night. There was no where to run if someone peeled back the curtain. He didn't have a wish to get caught out after hours. Hee frowned as he was once again man-handled, and lead out from behind the curtain, into a dark corner. Now he felt like some kind of criminal or something.

He had a heavy-set frown on his face by time JaQuan spoke again. He was brought no comfort at all. In fact, he would rather be caught alone and need to talk himself out of something, than rely on JaQuan talking them out of trouble. He would probably do the exact opposite, actually. He sighed, and folded his arms tightly across his chest as he thought about the girl. "It's easier leaving than dealing with her," he replied quietly. Fighting wasn't something he liked. Not only was he not particularly violent, he suspected he would have his @rse handed to him regardless. He looked around, before poking JaQuan in the chest. "And for your information, standing in a dark corner? Isn't going to hide us from anything." He grabbed his friend's sleeve and began the dragging be in the direction of the Slytherin Common room. "We're going to the dungeons. She might be sleeping by now."

This is rubbish and I apologise.
