Alice sat down. Her feet were hurting and she was exhausted. She had been looking around the shops all day. She hadn't yet received her list of things to get as she hadn't been sorted. However, trying to be organised for once, she had decided to have a look around and see what she might need and where to get it. This had been a big mistake. Being muggle-born, her parents hadn't been any help either so she was on her own. The wizarding world was so much more than she had imagined. Coming from a small quiet village herself, New Zealand was big enough by itself let alone another whole world! The whole place was different here. There were brooms and wands, robes and owls. On top of this confusion, she didn't have any money yet to buy anything so she was very hungry.
Unaware of anything going on around her, she got out a book and started to read.....

Sophia was panicking, she had lost sight of her twin sister. They were supposedly checking out the place where they are going to but their school supplies once they had received the list. And she, being the hyper part of the twins had been so enthusiastic by the idea that she had wandered around without even noticing that she had been separated from her sister. Hitting her forehead for being so reckless, Sophia tried to scan her surrounding, looking for the familiar strawberry blond hair that belongs to her twin, however, it seems that luck is evading her for some reason, no matter how hard she tried, she cannot see her sister. Not that she's tall, she and sister are quite small for girls their age after all.

Heaving a sigh that is so not suited for a girl just like herself, Sophia tried to remember the things that her twin told her before they came there. Feeling so stupid as she had recalled her sister's words for her, Sophia felt like face-palming herself. She finally remembered that before they were separated her twin told her that they would meet by the bench in front of the ice cream parlor. She finally remembered that the reason why her twin was gone is because her twin went to some sort of a book shop.

feeling relieved, Sophia walked towards the said meeting place, only to find a girl about her age. She noticed that the girl was reading something, and since Sophia had got nothing better to do, she approached the girl, mustering a smile to her face. "Hi!"

Alice looked up as someone spoke to her. She saw a friendly face smiling at her. She smiled back and moved over to make space for the girl on the bench. "Hi. Its nice to meet you. Im Alice." She folded the edge of the page in her book and closed it. Putting into her bag, she waited for a reply.

Sophia's smile brightened when the girl replied to her. She didn't really expected that since the girl seemed to be so into her book. With a rather cheerful clap, Sophia introduced herself. "My name's Sophia, nice to meet you Alice!" She said as she sat down beside the girl. Sophia noted that the girl seems nice, but she also wondered why the said girl is alone. "What are you doing her alone Alice?" She said out of confusion as she tilted her head a bit. A habit that she had acquired ever since she was little.

Alice smiled at this girls cheerfulness. She acknowledged her name. Thinking to herself that it was a very pretty name she replied to the girls caring question. "Well, my parents are muggles and we live in England so they had to go back home. I am fine though, i just don't know anyone. Are you here too on your own?" She asked gently.

Sophia listened as the girl said the reason why she's alone. She personally thinks the it is sad to be doing the shopping by oneself, at least she had her twin with her even if her parents cannot come. Nevertheless, she dismissed that thought, Alice said that she's fine and Sophia can see that she's not lying when she said that. "You're parents are non-magical? My mom is too... " She said with another smile. Sophia doesn't really care about blood status or social status, she can befriend anyone. She's friendly just like that. "Oh, no I'm not on my own, actually, I went here with my twin sister, though, I lost sight of her, but then I remembered that this is supposed to be our meeting place, it's fortunate since I met you here!" She added with a beamed as she took out some chocolates from her pouch. She bought it earlier along with her twin who happens to love sweet things. "Would you like some?'" She then said as she reached out her hand to offer some chocolates to Alice.

Alice smiled at the girl. "Yes, it is fortunate." She said absentmindedly. "Would it be rude of me to ask if i could come shopping with you and your sister for a bit. I really don't have anything to do." She asked quickly, panicking to herself that Sophia would find her forward and to pushy. "I mean, i don't have to if you have private things to do or you want to do things alone." She added quickly biting her lip. Her mouth just always spoke on her own accord and she always said the wrong things. She mentally reminded herself that if she was always this outgoing, she would never make any new friends and her life would be lonely.

"no, of course not, I would love to go shopping with you.." Sophia said with a wave of her hand. Then, she suddenly remembered that she was actually with her twin who's not that friendly. "I have to remind you though, my twin's not that used with socializing, don't be scared of her ne? She's actually quite nice.." Sophia added with a slight laugh as she tried to describe her sister to Alice. She really hopes that the two would actually get along.

Alice smiled again. She liked this girl. Confused at the description of the mystery twin, Alice laughed assuming it was only sister banter. "So is it just you and your sister then?" She asked cheerfully.

"Well, basically, you're right...father cannot come, got some work to do, and well, my mother's just to busy with the household, and so, my sister, being as mature as she is, had suggested we two move along... and then I was here.." Sophia explained enthusiastically as she chewed on her chocolate. She then remembered that the said chocolate was supposed to be her twin's, though she didn't mind it, she was quite sure that her twin wouldn't mind it too. "Now that I remember it, since you are here... well, since we're not on the presence of well, how do I say it, non-magical folks,... you're attending hogwarts as well?" Sophia said in a soft voice though she was sure that there were no muggles around. It was a habit that she had acquired a long time ago when she knows no one who's just like her.

Alice nodded. "Yep. I got my letter a few weeks ago and my parents flew me over here straight away. I am just waiting to be sorted now and then i can get all my things." She sat thoughtfully. "Do you know much about the place? Hogwarts i mean." She asked inquisitively.

"Hmm.. let me think.... I just know that we'll be sorted into four houses, depending on our ability and personality I think..." Sophia said while in a deep thought as she tried to remember everything that she knew about Hogwarts, the place that they'll be attending a few months from that day. "Which house do you want to be in by the way?"

Alice paused thoughtfully. "Um, from what i have heard, i hope to be in Ravenclaw. Definitely not Slytherin and i probably won't be in Gryffindor so i don't really mind about Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. If i got to choose though, for me - i would go into Ravenclaw." She chewed her lip thoughtfully and wondered whether her own choice would have any effect on the final decision. "How about you then?" She asked Sophia, still half in thought about her own house.

"hmm... I'll probably want to be in Ravenclaw too, since I'm quite sure that my sister would be there.. though, I don't really mind which house I'll be in... I'm pretty sure that they are all great.." Sophia said after a few seconds of thinking. She had heard lots of bad things about some of the houses but she didn't really believe in rumors. For her, every house has a greatness of its own. "Soooo, you new in this place?" She then added enthusiastically. She had just transferred in as well, but if she can help the girl to familiarize herself with the surroundings, then she'll help.

Alice nodded. "Yeh, i came down last week with my parents. They have only just left to go back to England. I don't really know what to do for the time until school starts." She paused, the question bringing it all back to her. How alone she was at the moment. How blind she was in what she was going into and how much she had left behind her for something she barely knew anything of. She composed her expression again and smiled. "Have you been here long?" She asked, in an attempt to pretend she was confident about it all.

Sophia can see the awkwardness that the other girl is feeling at the moment. She's always been like that, she's pretty much sensitive about what the others are feeling. Nevertheless, she decided not to say anything about it, it's not like she would want to upset the girl. "Hmm... I'm just new here as well.. though I've been already here for quite a few months already..." She said in a deep thought, remembering how lost she had felt when they had first arrived at the place, she wanted to help the girl familiarize herself. "Soo.. if you got nothing to do, maybe you can come by our house, I can introduce you to some friends.. and probably to my sister as well.." She said with a huge smile as she tried to make the girl comfortable with their setting.

Alice smiled gratefully. The generosity of some people overwhelmed her sometimes. "Well, if that wouldn't be any trouble, I'd love that." She smiled again, hoping she could put the unsaid gratitude into it. "Do you live in a wizard house?" She asked cautiously, wondering what one would be like. Non magic people (Alice still couldn't call them muggles, remembering how she used to be one a few weeks ago) used electricity. 'I wonder what would be different. Is everything controlled by magic? Are the people much different?' She wondered as she tried to keep her mind on the conversation.

"Great! My father isn't usually home and my mother is quite busy with the household chores, it would be really fun to have you around. I'll invite Drake as well, he's a funny guy, I think you'll get along.." Sophia said enthusiastically as she devised a plan on how to contact her friend Drake. It has been a few days since they had had an adventure in their house since Drake had just sneaked out. She had helped him get back to his house without being detected.

"Hm.. I'm a half blood see, my father's a wizard, so the house is not that weird, there are some magical items but not that much.. my mother's still insisting on using the usual stuffs.." Sophia said nonchalantly as she talked about her house. It was just a normal house really, the only unusual thing were the moving portraits at their rooms, the design of their wall clock, and even the fire place that their father would use sometimes to get to his work.

Alice smiled. She would love to meet some more people and the house didn't sound too bad. "Where do you live then?" She asked.

OOC: This has to be the worst post in the history of HNZ! Sorry :p

"Well..just somewhere near the brightstone village.." Sophia replied with a smile, their house was just pretty near thus it would be no problem if they did decided to go there. "How about you? Where do you live?" She then inquired, tilting her head in a rather childish manner.
OOCOut of Character:
