A blonde strand of hair fell into Caroline's face, blocking her view of the novel that was sitting on the table in front of her. She pushed the hair back behind her ear as she continued to read. Finally, her first year exams were finish. While Caroline had yet to receive her marks, she felt as though she had done rather well, especially for her first year. There were only a few days before they were to be heading back home, and Caroline dreaded it. She enjoyed Hogwarts where she had friends and things to do. At home, the blonde would be trapped by her parents and their expectations of her. Caroline always felt as if she was lacking in every way when she was around them. She made an extra effort to control her abilities as her parents despised when she shifted any portion of herself. Caroline felt as though they were ashamed of her because she had been born a genetic freak. The Gryffindor wasn't sure she could spend the next two or three months with them. Her only comfort was that they so frequently ignored her that she was free to do what she wished.
The blonde was back of the library, next to a large glass window that overlooked the lake. The weather outside was deceptive. From inside, it appeared as if the temperature would be warm and appeasing. However, it was not that way at all. Despite the sunshine streaming in upon her table, it was icy cold outside. This window was as close as Caroline Beckett would come to being outdoors which really was a shame because she truly loved being surrounded by nature and all of the beautiful things that came with it. Spring was her most favorite time of year, but they were still several months away from that. The Gryffindor's silvery grey eyes scanned the grounds, wondering if it would be snowing soon. Caroline would gladly brave the cold for a chance to go play in the snow. A sigh escaped her lips. The pretty little girl would be happy to fast forward to the spring because that would mean it was time to come back to Hogwarts.
