Shaylah laughed as she went up to the owlery, she had a letter for her dad. Of course she understood why he hadn't written lately. Tracy was close to giving birth, maybe she had already, no body knew yet, he was under a lot of pressure. She took her owl and attatched the letter to it and watched as it flew away, over the horizon.

Dad,

Hey it's me, duh, I was just writing to see how you were doing? And how Tracy is of course. I haven't had a letter from you in a while and thought I would write you.

Things have been interesting here. Well, I hope to hear from you soon.

Shaylah.

Tracy looked up as Shaylah's owl flew into the window and dropped a letter on the table. She read through it and felt the tears slip down her face. She waited until both of the twins were sleeping, not a usual thing, before she replied. There were smudge marks down the parchment when she sent back her reply, Tracy ouldn't stop herself crying. They were less than a month back from their honeymoon and this happened.

Shaylah,

I am, extremely sorry I have to be theone to tell you. I was going to try to arrange a meeting with your head teacher to come and tell you and Sydney in person but I guess that isn't happening.

Jay, your father, wasa taken into custody a week ago. I was going into Labour in Bleak street when Jay arrived, there were two children crowding around and, well, he was very stressed. He moved them out of the way, the young girl bashed her head open, she died instantaniously. Her brother, I assume the boy was her brother, was mad and attacked your father. He used the killing curse in a panic and, unfortunately, there was an auror there at the moment and he immediately tried to arrest him.

I tried my best to stop the Auror, I tried to make him let Jay come with me to St Mungo's. I honestly did my best in the situation but, Jay forced me to go. He physically placed me onto the portkey. I am so sorry, I haven't heard from him since. I am trying to find out what has happened but, so far,I have had no luck. This does mean that I am now your legal gaurdian. This will not effect you in any way unless you want it too.

Shaylah was walking outside when she saw Flake fly over her head and towards the owlery. She practically raced the owl there. She couldn't wait to hear what her dad had to say. There was so much to talk about. The babies to start with and the wedding followed by the honeymoon. She was expecting a good letter.
Shay went over to her owl in the owlery and took the envelope, frowning slightly when she realised it wasn't her dad's handwriting on the envelope. She took the letter out and read it, more tears falling down her face as she got further down the parchment. She had to read it a few times before she got the full blow of what her mum was telling her at which point her legs gave way and she sat against the wall, crying her eyes out.
Shay didn't even know how to start writing back.

Tracy,

When did this happen?? How?? Where am I going to stay?? What's going to happen about my dog and cats??

I don't know what to say. Tell me when you hear something about him.

Shay.

When she finished writing, she gave Flake the letter and watched as the bird flew away. All she could feel was the shock of what had happened. She had always assumed her dad would be there for her. He was the person she was the closest to and had spent most of her life with. Now she wasn't going to see him again. He'd be locked in azkaban away from her and there was nothing she could do about it.

Tracy sat, crying, as Shaylah's letter arrived. The twins had just gone back to sleep again so she had time to reply o her daughter.

Shaylah,

I would feel more comfertable explaining it in detail when II see you in person, it's not something that should be told over a letter.

You'll still live in the house, The dog and cats can stay here. I have spoken to the aurors, they said I am now your legal gaurdian and that Jay's having a trial soon but he will almost defintely be convicted. The Auroro who arrested him saw him use an unforgivable which is a life sentance. I am so sorry.

Tracy

Shaylah could feel more tears rolling down her cheeks. She still couldn't believe her dad was gone.
