Seventh Years, Lesson One

James leaned against his desk as he watched the seventh years make their way into the classroom and start to take their seats. "Come in, take your seats," Once he had a full house, at least according to his register, he waved his wand to close the classroom door.

"Welcome back seventh years, most of you will remember me from last year but for those that are new or those that forgot about me, first of all ouch, second of all my name is Professor James Cade but James or sir will do just fine," He was still adjusting to the titles and ways students addressed their teachers, it all sounded too formal for his liking, thank merlin he hadn't won the election. "Last year you learned non-verbal magic, this year we will be adding to that with wandless magic, a daunting task for some of you I'm sure but I assure you, you will all finish this year with the ability to do so...or you'll fail," It might have sounded harsh and was a tad hyperbolic as their NEWT exam was just as much about everything else they had learned so far as it was what they would learn this year. "It will be hard work, but my door will be open to those who wish to speak to me after hours, if you put the work in I will work with you, and if you have any questions you know where to find me," Keeping his wand in his pocket, James instead raised his fingers and with a flick of the wrist the classroom door opened once again. "Class dismissed, come back next week ready to work because your final year at Hogwarts will not be an easy one,"

RP the lesson.

Apolline walked into the defence against the dark arts classroom and took her usual spot in the room. She took out her books and notes and placed them down in front of her. The professor got started and she took a few notes from what they'd be covering in the semester of the class. Then the lesson was wrapped up and she was able to pack up and head out of the room.

Morrie listened to Professor Cade, or James as he invited, for what was thankfully a short lecture about learning wandless magic. Morrie was excited, like it would make her a proper witch by being able to do that. She didn't hang around at the end of the lesson, quickly packing up and heading out of the classroom.

Violet wasn't so happy to be back at Hogwarts. She was a little nervous for her final year, but she was sure she would be able to get through it. Perhaps the most scary part was that she didn’t know what she was going to do once she left. There were so many possibilities and Violet didn’t feel like she could fit into any of them. Quidditch and Heta would be her main distractions at least, especially now that she was President of Heta. The Ravenclaw had classes to attend now however, so she packed her backpack and headed to them.

Violet entered the Defence Against The Dark Arts classroom, nodding in greeting to the Gryffindor Head of House before taking her seat. The professor started the lesson quickly by re-introducing himself before going into what they'd be learning that semester. Wandless magic sounded extremely difficult, but the Ravenclaw was sure that she'd be able to do it, despite know it would be challenging. After all, she managed to get the hang of non-verbal magic well enough. As the lesson came to an end, Violet headed promptly to her next class.
