In all honestly, Leda wasn't sure whether being a professor was something she was cut out for. She may have only been here for a semester but she already missed Mervyn and the girls. "As a reward for surviving the snargaluff's last week, we've got something a little different planned for you today," she told the seventh years, keen to get into their second to last lesson.
"This is an Alihotsy, you might recognise it from using the leaves in other potions," at least, Leda did. The small tree that stood in front of them had a rather distinctive mottled red and green leaves which Leda pointed to with her wand, "This is also called the Hyena plant for some reason. Does anyone know why?" she asked, as though she didn't know the answer for herself. She picked on a random student that didn't even have their hand raised. "Very good! Yes, they induce hysteria and uncontrollable laughter, hence the name. You'll find them in Laughing Potions," she added, before giving the student some house points for their troubles.
Stepping away from the tree to give the students investigate, Leda presented to the class something a little more exciting. "Alihotsy's also pretty common in sweets or candy, diluted of course since the cheering effect is rather pleasant," she said, opening up the bag between the seventh years and offering it out. "Glumbumble treacle is also an excellent antidote to Alihotsy leaves, so there's some of that to try too if you want to," Leda grinned. "That's everything for today, you can go back up to the castle when you're ready!"
