Seeing Him Again

Vanessa smiled as she waited in Brightstone Village. She could barely wait to see Ben again. It had been a long time, but it seemed like longer. She looked at every person in the crowd, hoping to go to him as soon as he was there. Finally she noticed his face in the crowd.

She made her way to Ben, telling the people in the crowd to excuse her. When she got to him, her smile widened and she hugged him.

"Ben!" she said. "It's so nice to see you again! So much has gone on since I last saw you. Like me getting an increase in homework. Still getting used to it."

Ben smiled when he saw Vanessa's face in the middle of the crowd, she was making her way over towards him. As she hugged him he wrapped his arms around her, and smiled. " OI got news for you to, some bad some good. Which would you like to hear first." He said giving her a kiss on the cheek. He began to wonder what she woudl say when he tells her about him not making it into Hogwarts this year but then going to Durmstrang, school of magic. He was just hoping she wouldn't get upset, he only went to the school with the intention of transferring from Durmstrang over to Hogwarts.

Vanessa smiled even more when she got kissed on the cheek.

"Let's try the bad news first so the good news can cheer me up," she said, a bit worried about the bad news and not knowing what was going to be coming. "So what's up?"

She hoped that it wouldn't be too bad. What could have happened? Someone died? Or what? She told herself that once she heard it to find a positive thing out of it. After all, there was good news, too. Her smile faltered a bit when she worried about the bad news, but she tried to keep it on her face.

" I wasn't accepted into Hogwarts, this year but I made it into Durmstrang, and that's all the bad news." Ben said as his right hand lowered and entwined with hers, after all this time where they still together? Had she found someone else? Is he still the one she loves? There where a lot of thought going through his head and yet all of them made sense but he would never know.

Vanessa listened to the bad news. She let out a small sigh. She wished she was able to see Ben every day. But as long as she was able to see him at all, she was happy.

"That stinks," she said. "But at least you're able to learn magic. That's the important thing. And we'll be able to spend Brightstone weekends together, even if it's not too often. Plus we can write letters to communicate. What about the good news?"

She smiled at Ben even though there was bad news. At least they had met each other. At least they were both learning magic.

"You'll have to tell me all about Durmstrang," Vanessa said. "I have no clue what it's like there."

" Well the good news is I'll be able to transfer next year, but I'll only be at the school for like two years. But just as long as I get to see you." Ben said as he turned her around to face him, he picked her up off the ground and hugged her. She was only light so it was easy for him to pick her up." Durmstrang, is pretty boring, we learn a more powerful type of magic, one that is designed for attack not protection, attacking is something that helps us win the war, not only defense."

Vanessa smiled at the good news. She giggled when she got picked up and hugged.

"Oh, that sounds interesting," she said. "I don't care if it's only two years, at least we'll get to see each other almost every day. Hogwarts is great, mostly. I've met a few people who aren't that nice, but other than that it's great. I've made some good friends, I'm making more of them, and I hope to make even more."

She smiled at Ben, glad to be able to see him once again. She scolded herself for not writing to him. She told herself to make sure that she had enough time to complete all the homework and write to him.
