Jun knew Gaia's interest in animals like dragons, so he'd decided they should spend some time in the library together. He thought it might be fun to look up different creatures and try drawing them. Jun had lately taken to trying a traditional Japanese style, resembling Japanese tattoo designs more than anything else. Today, Jun had set up himself at a table in the library with a stack of magical creature books and was purusing one while he waited for Gaia. There was something calm about it - something Jun liked. He supposed it was the sharing of a common interest. He knew his dad didn't really get why he liked art so much. That was okay. Jun didn't really understand why his dad liked astronomy so much. Deciding to stop musing over this, he stopped on a particular page showcasing anatomical drawings of a Chinese fireball. He remained looking at it, waiting for Gaia to arrive. Something about the artistry of the sketch really caught his eye.

Gaia had been quite excited when Jun had asked her to hang out to look up creatures and draw them. So much so that she'd been looking forward to it all morning. She hadn't expected nor wanted to really make any friends in her first year, however she'd surprised herself and Mania by actually making some. Even though it was hardly more than two it was two more than she'd ever made before. Walking into the library Gaia had one of her bigger sketchbooks under her arm with a pencil case in hand. She also had a few pencils in her bun, in all honesty the bun relied on those pencils to even stay up. Spotting Jun the Slytherin smiled and bee lined for the boy.

"Hi than- oh my god is that a Chinese fireball?" She was about to thank the Ravenclaw for inviting her, but she was soon overtaken by admiration looking at the page in front of Jun. Sitting down she looked at the page. "That's a good one, I made one similar recently, but of the Common Welsh Green." She told him setting her sketchbook on the table. "Wait I'll show you, here." Gaia spoke while looking for the anatomical drawing that had the green dragon, both with its scales and then one with more depth on the anatomy next to it. It had random facts all around the pictures written in neat handwriting.

here's the general idea of the type of drawing

Jun smiled at her evident enthusiasm. "Yeah, I really like the style of this drawing and it caught my eye - oh wow," he stopped himself when he saw what she'd drawn, with little facts around the drawing. He was honestly impressed with her skill. "That's really good. Genuinely." Jun spoke sincerely. "Oh, a musical roar...*" He read from one of the facts on the page. "That sounds interesting. I've just been doing this," he pointed to his sketchbook, which had deviated quite a bit from the drawing on the page and looked definitely more Japanese in style. "Not accurate, but, I took some artistic license," Jun said, rubbing the back of his head. He was glad he had a friend he could share his love of art with.

similar to this, but without the colour

Gaia smiled and felt a pink hue raise to her cheeks when Jun called her drawing. "Thank you," she said, genuinely appreciating the compliment. When he read one of the facts she'd written Gaia couldn't help but explain more. "Yes its very distinct in that its supposedly more melodical than other dragons," she'd never seen one, yet, but she'd read about them. Looking at the Ravenclaws drawing Gaia was filled with admiration all over again. "Just this? It's amazing," She said, the reference to him calling the drawing just this in a joking manner. "I really like the style of it, it looks like it would make an amazing tattoo." The Slytherin said nodding to herself with a smile.

Jun listened to Gaia explain more with interest. "I didn't know that," Jun said honestly. "You must know a lot about dragons. I, uh, have unicorn facts?" Jun suggested tentatively. He always was nervous people would find his interest in unicorns somewhat girlish, or childish, but he just really appreciated beauty where he found it. It was his turn to blush at her compliments to him. "Thanks, uh, actually..." Jun paused, as though he hadn't considered it being a tattoo, despite the obvious influences. "You know, it kind of does look like a tattoo now I think about it. It kind of...well, do you know about ukiyo-e?" Jun asked. "I've been inspired by that lately." It wasn't exactly Japanese tattoo art, but there were some similarities in style.

Gaia smiled and gave a small nod. "More than my sisters at least, I, we have a library back at my family's house in Greece. I have read every book on dragons, and most on other creatures, front to back at least once." She explained, it had always been something she'd been interested in. "Oh please, tell me a fact about them. I'd love to hear." She told Jun encouragingly, when they'd first met he'd mentioned liking beautiful things and unicorns could be considered such so it only made sense he'd know facts about them. "I have heard of it," She confirmed looking back to the drawing. "That makes sense, its a very beautiful drawing. I like it." Gaia said turning back to the Ravenclaw with a smile.
