Syncere so far had been enjoying her time at Hogwarts. The people in her house were so nice, and it was like she had a whole other family. When she first arrived to the castle she started to explore. She had almost been to every single floor. All she had left was the lower levels of the school. She had been very reluctant to go down to the dungeons. She had been told that they were very spooky. Syncere was easily scared, so she carried her flute bag with her. It comforted her a little. She didn't feel so creeped out by the place. The Kitchens were also on the lower levels. Now she knew where to go when she wanted a midnight snack, but the poor girl was not even brave enough to break curfew.

It was still daytime, so she hoped that there was nothing too spooky for her. She would scream and run away like a wimp if something scared her and that would be very embarrassing. Syncere saw there was a room empty. She went in, and she set her flute bag on the table. She opened the bag up to reveal her beautiful flute. She carefully took it out the bag and put it to her lips. She started to play and soft and relaxing song.

Liir had just from the common room and was making his way up to the owlery to take Icarus out for a little fresh air and more training when he heard music coming from one of the empty classrooms. He had only been at Hogwarts for a little bit but his experience up until this point had been an enjoyable one as he was placed in a house that was worthy of representing and he was making the connections that would pave the way for future success not only with in the school but afterwards as well. Deciding to investigate where the noise was coming from given that it was not common for music to be heard coming from this area of castle it had peaked his interest just enough to look into a little further. What he had uncovered was a young girl the flute which was in his opinion a rather annoying high pitched instrument that gave him a headache when exposed alone for extended periods of time. He knitted his eyebrows together as the flowery tones irritated himself that is when he noticed the Hufflepuff crest on the girls chest which explained a great deal.

Hufflepuff was a house that he had much respect for and was glad that he had not been placed their when he was sorted or he would have gone to his mother and demand a transfer to another school such as Durmstrang or Beauxbaton. It had nothing to offer him and the student their were far to emotional for his taste not to mention weak in more ways than one as most were docile and fragile creatures. Which raised the question why was this girl so far away from the safety of her house and so deep in slytherin territory. He was no where near the most dangerous fiend that represented the house of Salazar but nor was he the friendliest either which most students knew and if anyone else found the girl down here it could have turned venomous quickly. Liir pushed the door open and with arms behind his back he wandered in and cleared his throat which he hoped would draw the girls attention."Excuse me but if you do not mind me asking ... what are you doing here all by yourself?" Liir said slipping into his charming nature until he could fully assess the situation.

Syncere felt more relaxed once she got into playing her favorite instrument. She remembered how hard it was for her to learn at first. Whenever her aunt would scold her for messing up she cried. She took criticism better now. She did not cry, and she did not throw a fit. When someone had clearly hurt her feelings she did not let it show. She kept smiling. Which was hard when she was really down. She did not hear a boy come in and clear his throat. When the boy started to speak she was startled.

Pulling her flute from her mouth she turned to look at the person who had spoken. It was a boy around her age, and when she looked closely at his robes she saw he was a Slytherin. With a smile Syncere ran up to the boy. "You are in Slytherin? That is so cool! What am I doing here?" she shrugged her shoulder as if to say 'I-have-no-clue-what-I-am-doing'. She had to look up to the boy since she was so short. Most people thought it was cute that she was so small, but she hated it. She would rather be tall and not get so many cramps in her neck.

The girl stopped her playing when she noticed that she was no longer alone which Liir appreciate more than words could describe as he rubbed his temple slightly hopping that his headache would soon fade. However he was not expecting the girl to run over to him with such enthusiasm as she did as she went on to ask a question that she already knew the answer to given that she followed up here question with a complement. He could describe the house of Slytherin by many names but cool was not exactly one of them especially given that the girl who had said it was from another house. He took a half step back hoping to put more distance between him and her as the feeling of crowded began to seep in which was something that he loathed greatly above all else. However his attention was now need to process what the girl had said and the body language that she was giving off which was unhelpful in answering his question.

"Don't you think you are rather far from the safety of your house down here in the dungeons? As for slytherin being cool I hardly agree with the statement but given that you are a Hufflepuff I will take the compliment for what it is worth." Liir said in a cool calm tone that boarded on eerie as he looked the girl up from head to toe as he attempted to assess her worth. She was a head short than he was and clearly of Asian decent which was something that he was familiar with as his former tutor was a rather stern Asian man with looks that could piece ones very soul. She was not at all hideous though her bubbly personality was polarizing given that he hung out with people who were anything but bubbly but rather were much like himself. All in all besides being placed in the misfortunate house of Hufflepuff she seemed like a witch of skill though he would not know for sure unless he challenged her to a duel which he decided was not of the up most importance at the moment but in the future it may be required if she wished to even be in the same room as him. He waited to see how she would react to his comment before he decided what he was going to do next as he was almost sure that now that he had started a conversation the girl would wished to continue it.

Syncere giggled when she saw the boy was quite started by her actions. She frowned when she saw the boy rubbing his temples. Her tune was supposed to be relaxing. He must have gotten a headache. "Did I give you a headache? I am so sorry. I was probably playing bad." she apologized. Syncere knew that she was not playing bad, but some people did not like the type of tune she was playing. She looked at the boy strange because of the next think he said.

"Safety? Is it dangerous to come down here, or are you just being territorial?" she asked and held her flute with both hands. Syncere smiled at the boy. Something told her that he did not think very highly of the Hufflepuff house. Worth did not matter much to Syncere. If you were nice to her she would be nice to you. It was as simple as that. She did not want to make her and other people's lives complicated by placing a certain amount of worth to each house. "What does me being in Hufflepuff have to do with anything? Anyways, all the houses are pretty cool. My name is Syncere." she held out her hand for the boy to shake. She decided to introduced herself to the Slytherin.
