The corridors that were still scarce of people were silent, begging to be awaken by the usual noise of the students and professors. Winds blew about in every direction, so soft that if you moved then you wouldn't actually feel it. The smell of the morning grass outside was refreshing and one would be labeled blind if it he did not appreciate the beauty of the castle. Yes, Hogwarts New Zealand was a beautiful school. The lands it were so lush that any buyer interested would gasp in its magnificence. The castle was old, yet well kept and radiated strong magic everywhere. If only Benjamin Chase had the time to stop by and look at the view. No, his mind was very occupied now. It was evidently seen even with the firm scowl set on his lips, refusing to budge. Benjamin power walked to the North Tower (without even putting his Head Boy badge on since he was in a hurry), a piece of folded parchment in hand. He wanted to send the letter immediately and proceed to starting his day without having to think about anything family related.
Benjamin whistled for Avery when he reached the North Tower. From the Owlery, the owl swept down and landed gracefully on the ledge of the window/opening. He threw it a treat and she caught it, this time with renewed vigor. Benjamin stroked it for a whilst, admiring how beautiful Avery was and clicked his tongue to get the animal's attention. "Fly to the manor, Avery. Give this to my mother and don't forget to nip her as hard as you can. She deserves it." Benjamin stroked Avery one last time and crossed his arms. "Take as many breaks as you need, as long as you deliver it to her very soon. Now fly." When he gave out the command, Avery uttered a sound of understanding and spread its wings, flying to oblivion. Thank Merlin their house elf was able to train the owl to fly even at the longest distances. However, Benjamin was not so sure if Avery could survive that much in a cold, cold winter. That didn't matter now. All he wanted was the short and curt letter of his to arrive safely in his mother's hands, hoping that she'd respond as quickly as she can. He needed her words to assure him that his parents weren't having too much marital problems.
If his mother really cheated on his father, he wondered if that meant they'd split up for good. Benjamin was glad he was old enough to understand these problems but, he wasn't grateful that he felt this kind of sorrow when it came to his parents. He loved them, but expressed it to them in a different kind of way. Benjamin trusted his father's letter, which stated that he witnessed his mother having lunch out with his most trustful secretary a few times now. Benjamin wondered, did his mom think she could escape his dad's prowling eyes? Arthur Chase knew how the notorious game of spying worked and his wife wasn't an exception to his... searches. Benjamin wished he had some kind of alcoholic drink now, just so he can feel a little light about this. He leaned towards the ledge of the great opening that made him see the grounds, allowing himself to slouch and express something that had pain in his eyes. Good thing, his sister was all oblivious to this. If she was aware, he knew enduring her unnecessary questions every two minutes will drive him to the edge of his sanity.
