Soren's fair skin comes from both sides of his family, his Danish and English backgrounds contributing to it's light colour. His hair however, is a dark chocolate brown stemming from his mothers side, whilst his eyes, blue with a slight hint of grey, come from his father. 
His height and weight is the average for boys his age, though he is a little on the thinner side due to his poor health from when he was younger. His skin is almost devoid of marks, save a few freckles sparsely dotted here and there.

Soren is an extremely quiet boy with a generally nervous or uncomfortable expression when he's around other people. He prefers to keep to himself, both emotionally and physically which is made apparent by the way he stands and holds himself, usually appearing small and closed off. His fear of rejection and ridicule, as a result of bullying, topped with his social disorder prevents him from being open and interacting with other people, though the few friends he does have he cherishes dearly. A follower, he'd go along with whatever they wanted to do, even at the risk of getting into trouble. He's also quite honest, which is sometimes a problem as his lack of social skills can lead to him accidentally offending people. 
Soren himself easily takes offense, being an emotionally sensitive person with low self-esteem, he is often hurt by the words of others and takes things to heart.

Soren was born in Roskilde, Denmark, to Asbjorn and Kendra Sedridor, of Danish and English background respectively. His father came from a predominantly magical family, whereas his mother was of muggle descent, with no magical knowledge prior to them meeting. His parents first crossed paths when Kendra, who was touring historical battle sites, was attacked and bludgeoned by Red Caps, almost losing her life if not for Asbjorn's intervention. After nursing her back to health, they immediately took to one another and instead of erasing her memories of the event, he decided to explain the magical world to her. 
 
Three years after his parents marriage, Soren was born, albeit a few weeks prematurely. The birth was complicated and almost resulted in Kendra's death a second time, though both mother and child pulled through. As Soren grew, it became apparent that his immunity system was underdeveloped and he was often sickly and frail. In response to his frequent cries and complaints, his father, a man with little patience and a short temper, would often employ the use of a tongue-tying curse in an effort to silence the young boy. This was continued frequently even after Soren's immune system improved, as a form of punishment for the slightest of things. His mother refrained from intervening, both believing that it was perhaps just a common wizarding practice, and afraid of what might happen to her if she tried to stop him. Soren would often plead for his mother's help, only to have her turn her back and busy herself with other things. 
 
Growing up under his father's harsh punishments caused Soren to develop a severe speech impediment at a young age. He began to stutter, as forming sentences became increasingly difficult, then eventually even singular words. Other children bullied him for being different, calling him a freak and mocking his disorder to the point that he was pulled out of school. His family moved away from Denmark, traveling to Australia for a fresh start for all of them, but the damage was done. Unable to properly communicate and too afraid to try make friends in case he was judged and bullied again, Soren kept to himself for the following couple of years. It wasn't until he received his Hogwarts New Zealand letter of acceptance that the young wizard was forced to leave his isolated life. Though terrified of a repeat of the rejection and bullying he'd experienced previously, his mother convinced him that attending the school would be beneficial and may help him resume a normal life.

Arriving at the school, Soren was immediately sorted into Hufflepuff, a decision the Sorting Hat had no trouble making. It became evident quite quickly that classes would be a struggle for him, as his speech problems made it impossible to cast even the simplest of spells, leaving him at an extreme disadvantage. Despite this he still did well in wandless classes and excelled in Herbology, until that too required magic nearing the end of the course. Unable to magically enhance the growth of his plants caused his grades to suffer, and while the other students were capable of simply levitating matured pumpkins to the castle, Soren was left with having to physically carry his own. Aside from classes, Soren did very little with other students. He avoided them like the plague, fearing mockery and rejection, but did manage to befriend a Gryffindor boy he met in the Owlery, Desideratus. Des proceeded to end up falling down a flight of stairs minutes after their first meeting. Soren also met and befriended an older Hufflepuff by the name of Kris Turner, when the boy accidentally let a Monster Book of Monsters loose into the youths dorm room. Unlike Soren and Des, who frequently spend time together, the latter coming up with different plans on how to escape the castle and the former going along with them or pointing out their flaws, Soren and Kris rarely have a chance to continue hanging out due to their year differences, ultimately leading him to only have one true friend.

Entering his second year of school, Soren still wasn't certain that proceeding with his education within the castle was best for him, as even after a year he'd made very few friends. He had made slow progress with his speech, but this was immediately undone when a group of older boys beat and bullied him due to his stutter. Bruised, battered and alone, Soren took refuge within the quiet confines of the library to escape further interaction with people, wherein he found support from James Adams, a Gryffindor prefect. Though not truly friends, Soren found he had someone to look out for him when he needed it.
