Ruto Amelie Vernier is the eldest child of Mixed Blood wizard Link Raison and Halfblood witch Isabelle Vernier. She was born on the twenty-ninth day of October, 2046 at St. Mungo's Hospital in New Zealand. Her first language is English, but she does know quite a bit of French taught to her by her mother. Her father picked her first name, whilst her second name is after her grandmother. In 2055, when Ruto was 8 years old, her father eventually left both her and her mother after he kept coming back and forth for his job. He and Ruto's mother decided it best that he just leave for good, leaving the two behind in New Zealand while he moved around the world for his job. This deeply upset Ruto and she suddenly felt deep hatred for her father as she saw how heartbroken this left her mother as it ended their relationship. Ruto felt guilty as she believed it was her fault that he didn't want to stick around anymore. A few months later in 2056, Ruto's step-grandmother, Clarissa Vernier, ran for Minister of Magic.
