Roses and Exploration

After a bit of asking around, Maddy determined that her penultimate rose delivery was to a Slytherin, so she wandered down to the dungeons. Maddy knew her way around here pretty well by now, since her brother was in Slytherin, and because she enjoyed exploring the dungeons in real life just like they did in their D&D games - though with fewer monsters. The closest thing she had to a monster was the tiny dragon curled up in her basket, sulking because she wouldn’t let him hoard the roses. On her meandering way towards their common room, Maddy asked every Slytherin she passed: “Hey, do you know where Anastasie Vernier is?”

Anastasie had been keeping to herself all semester, only interacting with people if she had to. She found that she was always more focused when she kept it this way. After all, she really wanted to get into a good study pattern before her OWL year in the following year and so thought getting the practice for that in her fourth year was a good idea. The Slytherin was slightly disgruntled as a younger student interrupted her usual endeavours almost as soon as she made her way out of the common room. "Yes, that is me." she replied rather sternly, eyeing the dragon that she was carrying around in a basket full of roses.

Anastasie didn’t seem very pleased, considering she’d clearly noticed Maddy’s basket, and everyone knew what it meant when a rose deliverer was looking for you. How could you not be excited? Well, Maddy could be excited enough for the both of them. “Hi! I’ve got a rose for you!” She grinned, grabbed the rose from her basket, and after a moment found the note to go with it. She held them out to the girl. “Here you go!”
