It was early December, and Selene knew she had a lot to do before the year was out. There was obviously the marking of her students' last big assignment. The end of the semester at school, including being a supervisor at the ball. She didnt mind that part of the job, in fact she had always enjoyed the ball, but she did need to get a dress. Then, of course, there were the usual December jobs, the buying of Christmas presents. the organising of the family christmas meal and deciding what to do for new years eve, also called old years day also called her birthday. Today she was shopping and trying to knock presents off her list of things to organise. She had managed to buy her mum a new bag for travelling and got a beautifully illustrated book of plants for Poppy as well as a really perfect pair of boots with flowers on them that she had found by chance and knew her girlfriend would love.
By now it was mid-afternoon and while she still needed to get somethign for her sister the early summer warmth was starting to build she decided to take a break and to get something to eat for lunch. The use of the word lunch in that thought was used only in the lightest sense, purly meaning food eaten between breakfast and dinner, as it was almost three o'clock and ten minutes later she was walking down the edge of the harbour a two-scoop ice cream in her hand and lavender and chocolate ice cream melting togther on her tongue. it was an unusual but delicious flavour combination. As she walked she was idly thinking of where she could add it to in her own baking as it was so nice. Unfortunatly, she wasnt paying full attention to where she was going and ended up coliding with something and the impact sent the ice cream falling to the ground.
