Lagowski is a Polish surname derived from a common town name in Poland called Lagow, which once meant "order" and "quiet".

There were no serious complications surrounding Remy's birth, and he was born healthy. Though the birth was difficult for his mother as the rest of the family did nothing to assist her, thinking she was playing a Halloween prank on them when she went into labor. There were many comments about Remy being a zombie, and all the mess involved being bought from a prank store as well as the mediwitch being in on the prank to make it seem real. The family did eventually realize that she was in labor and giving birth and then helped her wherever possible.

Remy was home schooled in his younger years, and did not mind this as he liked spending time at home because it catered to his short attention span, and allowed him to do whatever he wanted around the house when he wasn't learning. Though he did eventually begin to feel lonely during the school year as each of his siblings began to go to magical school and he had less people to spend time with.

Remy has been sorted into Hufflepuff, and is very pleased with this since he can spend time with his brother Reuben. He did not have any preference for a house, and only cared about being with one of his siblings so he is very glad he is sorted with Reuben.
S O R T I N G P O S T
Reuben and Ruldolf's company on the train ride was a comfort Remy sorely missed when he parted ways with them to follow behind a group of unfamiliar children. Remy soon realized the group would be his peers, and knew that the sorting ceremony was imminent as he followed them into the castle. He was finally going to be sorted, and finally learn everything he could about magic. Something that should have made him excited but instead made him feel extremely nervous. His eyes remained fixed to the floor and his hands began to shake as he felt nothing but overwhelmed with change, worrying about everything that could go wrong when he eventually arrived to the great hall and the sorting ceremony, instead of everything that could have gone right. The large doors that opened to the sight of the hall fortunately distracted Remy from his worries, and brought an expression of wonderment to his face as he looked up to the ceiling that depicted the night sky. He then looked from the enchanted ceiling to the four prominent tables along the length of the hall, eyeing them for the sight of his brothers and Raylee, knowing they would all be in different places. He spotted Reuben first, then Rudolf and waved to each of the twins with a wide smile on his face. Remy also waved when he saw Raylee sitting at the Slytherin table, though was undeterred by the glare she gave him. The distraction from his siblings was welcomed although short lived when the group reached the front of the hall, and the person Remy assumed was the headmistress read out a list of names, one by one.
Remy watched in awe while the hat sorted different people from the group, finding the ceremony fascinating until his own name was called. A lump then formed in his throat, his worries suddenly returning as he walked up to the stool and sat down, feeling the eyes of everyone in the school on him while he waited for the hat to make a decision that would impact his life for the next seven years.
