Penelope sighed. She was thinking of Jerry who she had met before sorting had happened. She had been listening the whole time to hear where her friends were sorted, but some of them she hadn't made out. Jerry was a Slytherin. And she was a Gryffindor.

She had read that the houses were supposed to hate each other. Would they still be able to be friends? Would people get mad at her in her Gryffindor clothing if she went down to the dungeons to see him? Penelope didn't want to go down there, anyway. It was already creepy enough. The thought that people there didn't like her.. no way was she going there.

She hoped that she would get to see him again. She wanted someone to sing with. And talk to. And be friends with. She had plenty other friends, but she had met up with most of them again. Not Jerry. Penelope sighed as she looked out the window. Why can't he just appear? she thought.

Jerry was walking to North Tower. Getting away from the other Slytherins whom hated him so much. He hated them as well, however he could do basically nothing since there were more of them then he. Why was he sorted into Slytherin? Why couldn't he have been a Gryffindor? It just didn't make any sense to him. Nothing did anymore. He wanted to see some of his old friends. However they were mostly sorted into Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. It made him sad. Really sad. He began to think of Penelope. The girl whom he was so interested in. She brought Jerry hapiness with her French accent and name.

Presently Jerry bumped into someone. He lifted his head only to see the girl whom he had been thinking of. Miss Penelope Fournier. An instant smile came accross his face. He was happy and glad he saw her. Finallly someone who wasn't a Slytherin. Finally someone who he knew. "Penelope...Hi! How's it going?" He asked.

Penelope turned around when somebody bumped in to her. "Jer!" she said excitedly. "I've been great. Mostly. But there's been a lot going on. What about you?" A smile appeared on her face. What an odd coincidence, she thought. Coming when I thought about him... I wonder if he had wanted to see me, too....

She sighed. She couldn't keep quiet anymore. "So, I heard you got Slytherin. I got Gryffindor. Although I don't think that hat was in its right mind... I don't think I'm a Gryffindor. I could have sworn that I was a Ravenclaw... I've become more talkative. You may want to run away while you still can."

"I've been fine, I was just thinking of you!" HE said chuckling. He was really glad to see Penelope again. It was great to see a familiar face whom he hadn't seen since sorting. "I'm glad I've found you! WE can catch up finally." he said again.

He was suprised as to how much she started talking. He remembered a sorta shyish girl. However he was glad she was talkitive. She spoke of how she thought she was a Ravenclaw, he instantly replied with a, "I thought I'd be for surley a Gryffendor. However the idiot hat put me here in Slytherin. I hate it Penelope. Absalutley hate it. It is like a nightmere come true." He said. 'But anyways, have you alot of friends?"

Penelope giggled. "That's so weird, I was just thinking of you," she said. "Must thank you for helping me climb that tree, by the way. I mean, most people have so maybe I'll find a friend climbing a tree. You never know."

She smiled. "Well, I've heard that old people er, don't make good decisions," she said. "I don't know if it's the same for hats, though. Could be. I wonder if there should be a new sorting hat. Maybe we would have been placed better." Penelope sighed. "Yeah, I've made friends. Not a huge amount, but enough good ones to last the year with. What about you?"
