The month of October meant spring was well underway, flora once held back by winter's frost beginning to bloom again. It was one of Carolina's favorite times of year skipping in the wilderness, spotting all the flowers and baby animals, specifically searching and climbing trees to watch birds nests, but of course keeping a safe distance not to disturb the circle of life. Everything felt brand new, with new life and new energy and this thought alone was enough to bring a small smile to Carolina's face as she approached the lakefront that morning. She spent a moment watching the soft lapping waves of the lake and hills and trees in the distance, almost lost in the view before her goal returned to her and she shifted to walk towards a nearby tree. It towered over the water in a way she could fall in, but not enough that it scared her, so she began climbing the tree, finding footholds in off shooting branches and reaching to find a comfortable vantage point. Carolina promptly sat herself down, kicking her feet in the empty space below her and unbothered by the height she had climbed as she looked around the branches for signs of bird life, then began to look around the edge of the lake for any students walking nearby.

Rhys Chamberlin liked going outside all of the time. Nature was life. It was the most beautiful thing he could ever imagine. That was why he loved astronomy. It was his favorite subject and favorite class. Rhys enjoyed every single moment of it. He walked along the side of the lake, knowing full well that one little slip and he would end up in the cold waters. Not that he knew for sure what the temperature of the water was, but he assumed that it would end up being very cold. Rhys wished that he was better at sketching, drawing, something so that he could capture the land's most beautiful moments, but alas. Rhys was not that talented. Instead, he looked at the trees and stopped walking when he thought he saw something. A bird? No, that was much bigger than a bird. That was... "Hey! You might get hurt up there!" Rhys called out to the girl once he realized that there was a first year up in a tree.
