🌹 Rose Giving Red For A Badger

Basket slung over her arm, Lucy didn't think she had ever been so excited for a school event. She was a long way off thinking about romance and kissing and things like that, but there were lots of kinds of love and she couldn't wait to help spread it all around the castle. The first rose was a pretty special one, one of the two splashes of red in her basket, for a boy she didn't know, but his name was slightly familiar - he might have been in her year or the one above, she wasn't sure. She was sure he was a Hufflepuff though, so she made her way to the area she thought the Hufflepuff common room was in, asking students as she passed them; "Have you seen Dominic? Does anyone know Dominic Owens-Lee?"

Dominic enjoyed Valentine's Day, even though he didn't really do much for it. He just enjoyed seeing the smiles on people's faces and the pretty roses that were passed around. It was also a great excuse to hang out with friends at the Valentine's Dance. The boy walked out of the common room to head outside for the day when he heard his name in the corridor. "Hey, that's me!" he exclaimed, approaching the younger girl.

Lucy was surprised someone so close to her own age would be getting a red rose, but she supposed that was what teenagers were like. It made her wonder what her own teen years would have in store. "I've got a very special rose for you!" She said cheerfully, presenting the red rose with a flourish. "It didn't come with a note, so it's a mystery rose." She added, the thrill of the unknown adding to the excitement. She knew it wasn't really any of her business who had sent a rose to a boy she didn't even know, but she couldn't hold in the curiosity.
