Katya stepped out into Obsidian Harbour for the first time since getting here. She had been practicing her skills on some of the rarer animals then what she would normally find in Poland. She had been training to be a vet since she had finished school yet she still never thought she knew enough to be on her own. She didn't think that she would ever know enough. If she was honest she sometimes had to wonder what she was even doing in a place like New Zealand. She had originally started it as a quest to find her parents, only to give up when she realised that she didn't care about them anymore and to continue to travel and just learn from the best Vet's she could find, both muggle and magical. The muggle side was much more complicated she thought, because she didn't understand most of the terms, but mostly she was happy doing both, or either. She wanted to learn as much about Veterinary science as she could and if that took her whole life time, then so be it. She looked at the Harbour and smiled. She didn't have a view like this back in Poland. It was always so cold over there and everything was frozen. Well, that wasn't true of the whole of Poland, just the part that she lived in now-a-days. She lived on the border of Russia, so it was almost always cold. One time she had visited a friend in Gdynia and they had gone to the beach. That had been interesting, but it was nothing like what she had seen since being in New Zealand.

"Piekna wyspa." New Zealand was most definitely a beautiful island. The scenery blew her away on a daily basis. She waved at a couple of people as she walked along the harbour and a couple of people waved back. She was mighty impressed by that. She was generally shy, but she wasn't talking to these people and when she was working, she was the most confidant person in the world. Maybe not literally, but it definitely felt like it sometimes. It was whilst she was walking along the harbour that she heard a noise, a soft, pain mewl. It sounded like a cat, or perhaps a kneazle considering this was a magical community. Katya turned the corner into the alley where she heard the noise and found a feline of some sort, lying on its side, its front leg stretched out in an odd angle. Clearly it had broken it somehow, she assumed from trying to climb something it shouldn't. Katya frowned and approached it cautiously, kneeling in front of it and petting its head as it mewled in pain again. "Be still, I need to check the break." The language was likely a foreign thing, but the kneazle would surely take comfort in the tone. She pulled out her wand and examined it, before cursing. She was going to have to use a salve, a potion wouldn't cut it. She looked at the opening of the alley and saw the people walking passed. "Can someone help me? I need a hand over here!"

Tybalt had been doing pretty well over the past few months, if he was completely honest. It had been a good few months since finding out that he was accepted to be a Healer, he'd been riding a serious high from it and enjoying all the fruits of it. He was in training now, and would be for several years while he learned everything he needed and chose a speciality but the teen didn't mind at all, this was what he wanted. He was rather excited for and by it all, he couldn't wait to be practicing and working. Each day he was learning more and more, experiencing so much more than ever before, never had his lesson been so specific. He had no problem keeping up with it, and the work load while a lot was still small enough that he had no problems keeping up to date. He was working part-time in a bar in a muggle area of a relatively large village in New Zealand no too from where his cousin lived, so overall while now very busy the teen was enjoying himself and the little offers of life, no longer stuck in a boarding school for most of the year. In the weekends he wasn't working the teen took all of the time to himself to be able to visit various places in the world, expanding his knowledge of the world around him. With the extra money he had and everything else, the teen was just enjoying everything that life had to offer him, no longer stuck in school as fun as it had been the man was just happy to be able to do whatever his heart essentially desired. He was currently still living at home, but had planned on moving out by christmas, he just needed to find a place. It just meant that on top of all the other things, Ty was currently house hunting. Well, flat hunting because he doubted he would be able to afford much more than a small place by himself, but it was fine to the teen. He would happy with that, he would live alone it wasn't like he'd need much more space than that.

Tybalt Archer had been making his way along Obsidian Harbour, he had just done a little bit of shopping for his parents and was in the process of heading home, his parents had enjoyed having Tybalt back, they missed Lydia but having him back was a good thing in their mind. It had been a long week and well, the teen was a little tired, he had few breaks. He was kept busy by all of the various things he was doing so occasionally he knew he had to do things while he was tired. In this state of slight tiredness the teen wasn't paying too much attention to where he was walking, just walking forward and hoping that he would get to the right place at the time that he needed to. The teen was just trying to move forward and get himself the last few items on his list so that he could go home and have a little power nap. The teen glanced around himself briefly, stopping slightly to adjust the bag on his back, relieve a little of the weight. It was as he moved forward and passed a street that a voice called for help, ever the Gryffindor, without even questioning it a little the boy headed towards where and whom the sound had been coming from. He stopped in front of a girl who had an animal of some kind lying in front of her. Tybalt took his bag off and placed it to the side and he knelt down looking between the animal and the woman in front of him, "What's wrong?" he asked concern laced his tone with clarity as he tried to figure it out, the animal looked injured, but Tybalt wasn't sure how he could help with this after all, he had only just begun his training, and his training was in people not animals. He glanced up at the woman and smiled warmly, "I don't know if I'll be able to help much," he started saying, trailing off slightly towards the end, unsure how else to explain that he might not be of use to her, but unwilling to get up and leave in case she knew how he could help.

Katya stroked the kneazle carefully, trying to keep it from standing. It seemed really adamant about going somewhere, but she couldn't allow him to move. He would make the break worse and she didn't want to have to keep him in a cage until he got better. She had to admit that she was doing better now then when she had to look after that baby dragon. That had been a nightmare. Back then she had still been trying to figure out what she wanted to do in her field. Then of course her parents had left her not long before that. It was still painful, but she no longer cared to let it rule her life. it wasn't important anymore. "Be still, Precious. I'll fix you soon." Katya knew she at least had some salves in the cupboards in her clinic, but she feared she would need to make up a potion to ease the pain. She used her last batch on a couple of puffskeins and that had been an absolute nightmare. She usually waited until the morning to be able to make more, but it seemed she would have to rush a batch, unless she had some soothers as well. They wouldn't be ideal, but they would do the job.

Katya was not one that panicked very easily. She usually had quite the level head, she liked that about herself. Her level headedness. However right up until the moment someone came to help her, Katya was panicking that she wouldn't be able to do what needed to be done to help the poor kneazle. Katya would have smiled at the guy if she weren't so desperate to go back to her clinic and get the things that she needed. The thing she needed right now, was for him to hold the kneazle still, so he wouldn't try to move once she left to get her salves. "This kneazle has broken its leg, I think it took a serious fall from the rooftops. I need you to stay with him until I get back. Can you do that?" She asked him as she stood up to leave him. She needed to get to her clinic immediately. She didn't really wait for his answer as she immediately took off back in the direction that she came. She hoped he didn't think that she was leaving, because she was going to be gone for a while, she just wasn't entirely positive how long. She needed a couple of soothers and some salves to help heal the break. Whilst for people, all they needed was a bottle of skele-grow, for animals it was a darn sight trickier. For instance, she didn't want to cause the kneazle too much pain because it was hard to explain to animals that they meant no harm. Though kneazles were much smarter than most people, she didn't want to take the risk.

It didn't take as long as she had thought, but after nearly fifteen minutes, Katya had everything she needed and made her way back to the kneazle. She nodded her thanks to the guy and moved closer to attend to the injury. She first administered a soothing solution to the kneazle before moving to rub the salve along the broken area. When she was finished she sighed and picked the kneazle up off of the ground and rested it on her lap. She smiled at the boy person beside her. "I'm sorry about that. I was worried about him trying to move. When I'm finished here could you let me buy you lunch? I want to thank you for your help." She looked back down at the kneazle that was now still trying to move. She stroked its back softly. "I'm Katya by the way and don't worry, I'm a vet."

This is horrible and I'm sorry, I lost the plot halfway through writing.

Tybalt watched closely as the woman in front of him wasted absolutely no time in both telling him what was wrong and then what she needed him to do. He was at least glad that she wasted no time, and was pretty impressed by the fact that she was helping this animal, this Kneazle, he might've tried to get it to somewhere to help it, but this girl was just helping it there and then. Ty had never been too animal, he loved them as much as the next guy but then in the same way he did honestly much prefer humans, he never owned a pet so perhaps that explained his slight aversion to them. When she asked if he could do that, the teen just flashed a confident smile before nodding firmly at her, he could of course manage such a thing, "Of course," he told her with all the usual confidence that he had, but she was barely paying attention to him and what he was saying, she seemed exceedingly distracted with helping this animal, a commendable thing he thought. So he just stayed with it, lightly stroking it's fur to give it a little help if he needed to give it help, or to at least attempt to provide some comfort to the animal. He had gone into the healer program to help people, and it made him feel compassion for the animal currently in pain, he wanted to help anyone he could. He hated being unable to help people, or even creatures it appeared, the teen wished he could do more for the kneazle. He waited calmly, knowing he could do nothing to help the creature so he just had to hope that the woman returned. Which Tybalt was sure would happen, the woman had look trustworthy enough that she wasn't the type to just leave him with the animal in the street and therefore be able to get out of helping it. There had been something about her, which had screamed that it just wasn't possible.

However, fifteen long minutes later, or so, the woman who had disapparated reappeared and he leaned away from the animal giving the woman enough time to work, which she did quickly and with little acknowledgement of him. Tybalt could only watch in fascination as she set about what she needed to do, he could tell that she knew exactly what was needed. He found it endlessly interesting watching her as she did what she needed to do. He was crouching on the ground but kept occasionally moving to account for his height and the fact the position wasn't particularly comfortable. There was nothing else to do but watch in silence until it seemed like she was done, as she sighed and placed the Kneazle on her lap. He returned the smile and just shook his head at her, there was no need to worry about anything, he was only doing what was right, what he or anyone should do. He wouldn't say no to lunch however, because this woman was not unattractive and the boy could definitely go some food, she then told him that her name was Katya and that she was a vet, now, her care and knowledge about how to help the animal were evident. Tybalt hadn't ever thought of that, and almost laughed at the gap in his knowledge, "You don't need to repay me, Katya. I'm not going to say no to lunch though because I really like lunch," he told her flashing his most charming smile, "I'm Tybalt, I'm a healer in training," he told her, Tybalt wasn't telling her because he was boasting but more because she had told him what she was, so he was purely returning the favour. He was still smiling at her a vague aura of being impressed surround him, "That was pretty amazing, what made you decide to be a vet?"

Katya smiled at the person who had helped her and nodded when he told her that she needn't repay him. She continued to stroke the kneazle's back. "I appreciate the help you gave me. If not for the initial help, then for the fact I had you wait for over ten minutes." She told him, looking up at him. She laughed slightly when she realised that he'd said he liked lunch. "Well I like lunch too, a very important meal, as are they all." Katya laughed to herself slightly, it wasn't funny, at least not in english. In Polish it was hilarious. Katya held out her free hand for her companion to shake when he introduced himself. "It's nice to meet you, Tybalt. Funny how we are in similar professions, yes?" What were the odds that she would run into someone who was also involved with healing, though of a different sort. Next she was expecting to find a tree whisperer. She'd known one a few years ago. Right out of school she had been looking for some herbs that might help improve a potion and she'd randomly wandered into the bush, only to get lost on her way out. It was cold and dark and she'd been worried that she was going to have to camp overnight when she had been lucky to be found by a middle aged woman. It had taken awhile due to the language barrier, but eventually Katya had figured out that the woman was a tree whisperer. She still to this day did not know what language the woman spoke, nor whether or not she was magical, but it had made for a wonderful memory.

Katya shrugged slightly when Tybalt complimented her and asked her what had made her decide to be a vet. "I don't really know. It's just something I wanted ever since I was a small girl. I think it was just that I wanted to help them, if I could. Even as a child I was interested in animals, watching them grow, stitching them up. Though I don't remember ever fixing a birds wing." She laughed slightly. Most people had a story of helping a bird when they were kids, but as far as she could recall, Katya did not have one. The kneazle started to relax, and she knew that the potion was taking effect. Katya gently shifted the kneazle back onto the ground and tucked it into the corner. She grinned at Tybalt and stood. "We have to leave him here now. I don't want to be around when its partner shows up." Though Kneazles were intelligent creatures, they could sometimes be aggressive and Katya didn't want to hurt it anymore than had been necessary to help it. If there was a second, or even third Kneazle, she didn't want to be around when they returned. "He should be fine here, he'll know to rest." She looked around for a moment and then smiled when she saw a small restaurant up the harbour. "Okay, I think I see somewhere we can eat. I hope you're hungry!"

Tybalt smiled at her, though he didn't quite understand the sort of joke she had made in talking about lunch, he was hoping to lighten the mood as the girl cared for the little animal, that and he felt it was the better thing to do, rather than just sit in silence and let awkward silences between two essential strangers. Which was why he was glad that she did speak, he had to agree that it was funny, "It makes sense that we would both want to provide help to this little creature," he told her, Ty knew that anyone might've come to help, but he had been the one too and he knew that if he had been the one to come across the creature he would've stopped to help it, so there was only little differences between the two of them. One dealt with animals, and the other humans, he figured from her knowledge that she was slightly further in her education that he was, since he had only just started and she had known exactly what to do where he might have been still turning to his tutors, professors and all that. He glanced down at the creature between them and just smiled, it was always nice to see that someone else cared about creatures about as much as he did, though the teen had never taken care of magical creatures, he had definitely still cared about animals.

Tybalt listened attentively along as she explained why she had wanted to be a vet, he had always figured a vet as one of those careers that someone generally really wanted to be from a young age for them to then actually do it in later life, he had rarely met any vets, but his experience most of them had wanted to be vets from a young age, they wanted to be able to help animals and had always helped animals when they had been younger. He smiled as she explained further and he knew he had heard that story before. Tybalt grinned happily at her as she then placed the creature on to the ground, he stood up to full height and stretched a little, he was fairly tall, just passing Stefan by the tiniest fraction, so he stretch his body, and then nodded at her, "Sounds good," he told her, motioning both ways so as to ask which way to head, "I'm always hungry," he told her laughing lightly, "Well, of course not always but enough of the time to make it always," Tybalt waited for her to get moving, since he didn't know where this place was and she would have to lead the way.

Katya nodded when he mentioned that it would make sense that they would both want to help the kneazle. He was right. Regardless of the area of their profession, they were both in the world of healing, whether that was an animal or a person, it really made very little difference. "Yes I can see why that would make sense. I didn't think of that." She was glad to have met Tybalt, he seemed to be on the same page as her, which was nice for a change. Most of the people she met seemed to be rather underwhelming when it came to things like medicine or general awareness. Some even still didn't understand laws. When she had been studying in Paris once, a woman had tried to tell her that her kneazle was only a half, but obviously she didn't understand the differences between half kneazles and full kneazles. It had been obvious to Katya's supervisor right away and the woman had been charged. You needed a license to breed kneazles or even to own one in some places. Some people just didn't understand why there were rules in place like this. Kneazles could be hard to handle on their own, in groups they were a nightmare, so she'd heard.

Katya smiled slightly at Tybalt as he continued to talk about food and eating. He was a little bit weird if she was honest, but it was fine, he seemed funny and he was certainly harmless enough. Cute too. "I suppose you would be, wouldn't you? It's not easy doing what we do all the time. Takes energy." She told him smiling and pointing further down the harbour where she could see the sign she was interested in. As a vegetarian, Katya had to be picky with what she ate, as she couldn't handle meat very well. It was the reason she had become a vegetarian in the first place. Nodding to Tybalt she headed down the harbour and looked around, taking in the sights as she went. "So are you a local?" Living here would be amazing. She didn't get many sights back home. Mostly it was all just ice and rocks. Southern Poland was warmer of course, but Katya lived about as far north as was possible to live, so she was really excited for the warmer weather she experienced in New Zealand. It had taken some getting used to of course, but it was really nice to feel the warm sun on her skin. Shorts and singlets were the norm here it seemed and Katya had been all too happy to try it out too. "I like it here, it's warm and the sun isn't covered by clouds all the time." She told Tybalt, shading her eyes as she looked up at it.
