🌹 Rose Giving Reading, Read, Red.

Hugo was making his way surely through his list, though his overflowing bucket was not reflecting that due to the half dozen pink roses that he had received earlier this morning. The next person on the list was someone he didn't know much more than being able to put a name to the face, and he had a feeling that he may find him in the library. Or maybe it was just that Hugo wanted a break from the noise and energy of the School, and he usually found solace in books.
As he stepped into the room, he felt the usual calm spread over him, though it was not fully immune from the energy of the day, the books muted it, almost like they muffled sound. He wandered the aisles a couple of times before he spotted a blonde head. he walked over to it. "Hello, Dante" he said, his voice not too loud as was befitting the library. "I have a rose delivery for you" he said.

Dante Styx would not have been in the library for long. But he wanted to get a heads start on muggle studies. Then their head boy came up to him and greeted him. He gave him the smallest of smiles. "Okay, probably from my fiance."​

The younger boys' response to Hugo's comment was jarring. Hugo wasnt sure if it was the fact that he was engaged at how old? sixteen? Seventeen? Or the fact of how abrupt the comment was, no emotion behind it, not even a greeting or a thank you. He hadn't even shown curiosity about who sent it, since he hadn't mentioned the colour. Did the guy have so few friends that that was the only option? And while Hugo didnt keep up with the big families surely, he must have at least one sibling in the school, or a cousin or other relative who might have considered sending him a rose.
Hugo reached into his bucket, smiling as he saw the bouquet of pink flowers he had received this morning, from Teddy. He reached out a red rose and held it out to the boy, wondering if he would react at all to getting a red rose, or even read the note, or if he would just treat it as a matter of factly as the information he had received.

Dante expected a pink rose, but instead got a red one. He read the note and his cheeks flushed. Oh no, and he sent her a pink one. Oh he was so screwed. He bit the inside of his cheek hard enough to taste a drop of iron, but then turned to the Head Boy and grinned, "Thank you, and happy Valentine's day." Oh he was in so much trouble.​
