As the rain pelted down harder than it had brief moments before, the Slytherin boy cursed his choice of day to leave the house. Of all the days of summer he had to chose from, this one had to be the one he picked. Obviously the teen had no idea that they weather be the way that it was being, but it still didn't make him feel happy about it. The jumper and t-shirt that he was wearing were stuck to his body because of how wet they were. His dark jeans had changed colour slightly due to the rain, this was something the Slytherin couldn't see. Due to the very fact that he was completely colourblind. The entire world around him was in nothing but black, white and grey. Stefan Archer had long grown used to seeing in such a fashion. He didn't exactly like it, but putting up with it was what he did. Like most others things that had once occurred, and where still occurring in the slytherin's life. It was why, part of the teen was actually glad of the weather. It was dark-ish, and overcast, his eyes were good with balance of light. The rain made it a little more difficult, but he still found himself feeling better than he would if it had been bright and sunny. The rain helped him feel calm. Which considering his situation was saying something. Stefan Archer did not often feel calm, but even with it raining heavily upon him the boy could hardly deny that it did feel somewhat perfect. The rain was the only noise the boy could hear. The soft pitter patter of rain drops hit the ground, or the leaves. In his house, there was an eerie silence, generally followed by his father yelling at what a complete waste of space the Slytherin was which was closed followed by the distinct sound of fists hitting bones and flesh. It was why, in the noise the rain gave, he could feel his breathing even out, despite how much it hurt to breath at times, his mind slowed, and everything seemed less important. Rain was just one of those times, when Stefan Archer really and truly felt like everything was going to be okay. That his life would at one point getting better. Like his life was a really long drought, and all he was doing was waiting for the rain to fall. Making his life bearable rather than unbearable as it really was for him. As much as he would never tell anyone about his father, it didn't mean he liked the man. He understood why his father did what he did. Stefan understood that he was a failure, that he was unwanted, less than human and deserved to be treated as such, but it did not mean that Stefan had any positive feelings for his father. Other than the necessary ones, considering the man was still his father. With no one else left, it didn't matter what his father did, he'd stick with him. Stefan's father did not understand that this was Stefan's line of thought, but it wasn't like Stefan had ever gotten the opportunity to tell him.

It was his only day out of the house for the holidays and Stefan was no sitting at a bench just outside the village staring blankly into space as the rain poured down up his body. His hood was down, and his dark brown hair was slicked back due to the amount of rain that had fallen on him. He'd had a pretty good morning so far, well after he'd left the house. Since he was pretty sure that his father's actions before leaving the house had caused a bruise to form on his shoulders and on his stomach. But after being dropped off, his day had gotten a whole lot better. He'd eaten. For the first time in a day and a half. He felt relaxed, he'd met someone new. And despite how exhausted he was, the boy was still more awake than he had been in a long while. And it felt good. Being on his own in the rain felt good. He felt free and able to just breath. This was a feeling he'd not felt in a long while. Not since he'd last been at School before the school had stopped for the summer holiday's. Which while it had not been that long before, to the Slytherin it felt like an entire lifetime. The slytherin boy glanced around him. He couldn't really see anyone around him, his eye sight was still poor, no matter what the lighting was like. He sat leaning lightly on the back of the bench. Vaguely aware that if anyone sat down next to him, the first thing they'd see would be the bruise on the side of his face. It was a pretty horrible colour, but in that moment he didn't care, he'd long since stopped hiding the bruises and cuts on his face. His sleeves were rolled down and there was only a tiny bit of his bruised right hand visible. It was weird he thought, that people just seemed to stay pretty far away from the rain. As if it was almost acidic, where as the Slytherin boy loved being in it. Sure during the winter months at home, rain was more annoying than anything, it was cold and Stefan spent most of his time wishing it would stop. But, in Summer rain was perfect. Stefan Archer kept his dark blue eyes looking straight forward into the distance, clearly lost in thought, as the rain poured down around him. Washing away with it, all bad thoughts that were running threw Stefan's mind. The rain dripping down the boy's thin, frail frame

Danielle Warbeck walked in the rain, her hoodie over her head. Her walk was silent, and went unnoticed. She just wanted to get away from people right now. In the rain she has much more fun alone, because she could do anything, without being bothered about it. She had some crayons in her pocket, as she was drawing, in The Leaky Cauldron. She had gotten some colors wrong, and a person noticed and called her a 'Colorblind idiot' Danielle got furious and threw the coloring book at his head and stomped out of there. This was another reason she wanted to be alone. There was no one, no one, on all of Obsidian Harbor who knew how she felt. Except....

Maybe...someone knew it worse. Danielle ran up to him. "Stefan? Is that you? Its Danielle..." Danielle asked the boy quietly. She didn't want to be alone anymore. She wanted to be with this boy. She wanted someone to talk to about this. "Its just that, I was called something, that made me very upset. And I could use a friend right about now." Danielle added, softy, still a bit shook up from what had happened. She pulled down her hood, revealing a ponytail, that got drenched quickly. Water droplets slowly dripped down her face, but it wasn't rain. It was tears. Small tears, that she didn't even realize she was shedding down her face. She hated being colorblind. She wiped her face, because water was blurring her vision.

The solitude of the rain played nicely into the fact that The slytherin teen had no real desire to talk with anyone. There was little doubt in his mind that talking with someone would bring all his thoughts of everything wrong with his life forward. Because at this time of the year during his one day of freedom per holiday was really a day he spent gathering his thoughts and his courage to be able to face the rest of the holiday without more troubles. And what was meant by that was that he didn't have to ask his father for anything more. Which would not return him with his father's anger. It didn't really make the holiday that much more bearable but he found it gave him a little bit more breathing space and this one day really did help him gather up all his thoughts before returning back home. Staring out at the rain, Stefan's thoughts lingered to the one thing he was sure was half of his problem. Seeing only in black, White or grey. However to him even grey was just different degrees of either white or black. The colourblindness was the one thing he was sure his father hated more than him. If it was possible. Stefan was sure that if his father was to pick between Stefan's ability to hear or his ability to see colour he'd always chose colour which Stefan didn't want. Sure was there a known cure that was a hundred percent then he would consider taking it. But if not he was actually okay with being colourblind. It wasn't the best thing in the world, and it caused him huge amounts of pain mainly from his father but he didn't hate it. It was now a part of who he was. Being colourblind was not something most wanted but it was something he was okay with keeping. One thing Stefan did think of, was if he would pass his condition on. While he didn't mind having it, the slytherin would not wish for his child should he ever have any to have it. At this point thoughts of children were not on the front of his mind. He was more focused about getting through the year. More to that getting through the next week. The thought of having children was not one he really never thought possible for one thing that would require someone to actually like him as more than just a friend, or a best friend. And he would have to escape his father and those were two things the slytherin teen knew were close to impossible. Stefan let out a long drawn sigh. He knew that he would also probably never make it to an age where children were possible. He acted more positive for his friends. Kate, Willow, Sara. But he knew that he probably would not make it. There was really only so much a body could take. And he knew his has pretty much been through a version of hell. He figured it would only be a matter of time. And this was why he always attempted to say goodbye to his friends. While he wished to see them again, it really was just in case.

The sound of a girl's voice calling his name snapped his mind back to the reality. He only realised who itwas when the girl said her name, Danielle. Stefan glanced round at her and smiled slightly. She was the only other colourblind person that he knew and because of that he felt a desire to k ow more about her. Mainly how her parent dealt with the colourblindness and if it meant that they hated her. Stefan quickly glanced the girl down and gather that compared to him she was probably better off. Which really wasn't hard. The bruise on the side of his face gave that away. He watched her as she spoke, and this made him realise that the girl was upset. What about he couldn't really tell, but he was sure it had to be about the colourblindness. He didn't know much about her, but when people insulted him by callinghim that he did get fairly upset. However his father being the worse offender he'd also grown used to it. As the slytherin watched her, he realised she was crying. This caused a little bit of panic in the boy. But instead of saying anything he just, carefully put his arm around her shoulders in an almost brotherly fashion. The touch was light and careful. As if while trying to comfort her he was attempting to get over his fear of touch. Stefan pulled her into him slightly, careful to not put pressure on his ribs. "You can tell me what happened Danielle." Stefan said. "Maybe I can help. I mean I know what it's like to be insulted. But if you don't want to tLk about it, I'm still here." Stefan wasn't the type to talk Bout himself much, but he understood why some people would want to more than others. It wasn't because he didn't like to, just that if he did it would be embarrassing and he'd have to deal with a he'll of a lot of questions he had no desire answering. But that was just Stefan, he preferred listening to other people and helping them rAther than asking for help himself. In the slytherin's eyes it was actually his fault he was in the mess he was in. All apart from the colourblindness he figures to be his fault. "Is it about the fact you can't see colour?"

Danielle Warbeck has obivously been very shaken from this event. She used to always be called, names like that, but it hadn't happened in awhile, and it happened so abruptly, she got shaken-up. Daniele was breathing heavily now, she had ran from The Leaky Cauldron so quickly, she was tired. She wondered why, the child was even watching her color, when Danielle had never even seen him before, then she wondered why the child told his father, and Danielle wondered even more, why a grown man called, a 12-Year old, a 'Colorblind Idiot', this man was rude and obnoxious and will get what he deserved. This is exactly how the story went: 'Danielle was just coloring, miding her own buisnesss, when a younger boy, most likely, 9 or 10, looked at her, and the coloring book. Danielle just smiled at the boy. The boy walked away and told his, father, (Most likely atleast!) and asked him why she was getting colors wrong. The man brushed it off and said, "OH she is just a colorblind idiot" very loudly as though he wanted Danielle to hear. Danielle threw the book at the mans face and ran out...'

She was so happy when she saw Stefan. He understood how Danielle felt. He probably knew it worse. She needed him more than ever right now, and was happy to have him next to her. "I do want to talk about it." Danielle told him, making sure he was listening and cared. She lean her head against his shoulder. "Yes. Well...I-I can see color, I j-just mix t-them up. A-and, I-I was c-called a colorblind idiot. But its n-not even m-my f-fault!"
