Speed goes indoors when the sky starts turning grey, and will attempt to distract himself from the weather, or go into a room with no windows, or with curtains. As he has aged, he has been able to get this fear under control. While he is still extremely cautious, and can be a little jumpy in this weather, he is able to keep himself under control. He will also more often than not transfigure into his animagus form, as he finds himself more comfortable in this state.

Speed was born three minutes after his twin sister, Stephanie. As children, the two of them were inseparable and enjoyed playing together. They would often play pretend games such as Aurors and Deatheaters (where Speed would be the Deatheater and Stephanie the Auror) and mini Quidditch with their cousins and two younger siblings and other family members on their little brooms. Ever since he was small, he had always wanted to surround himself with animals and join in their play, often playing pretend with his pets. As children, Stephanie was the more outgoing one, while Speed was the more intelligent. He often spent his time reading and doing more homely tasks, such as caring for the animals, helping his mother cook and making sure young children that frequented their house weren't lonely. Speed grew to like animals more than people because of his sister, Stephanie. His sister was a very clingy child and Speed never really liked having someone cling to him and preferred his freedom, but he never pushed his sister away, he cared for her too much. He rarely spent time with his younger siblings, as there was an age-difference, and a major clash of personalities, especially with his younger sister, Sloane. One person Speed never got along with was his Grandfather, whom he strongly despised and still does to this day. He would actively ignore his grandfather and spend more time with the neighbouring animals than was acceptable to anyone around him. It was around this time that he met three children. The Venturino triplets. He only kept in close contact with one however. Jace Venturino remained a Pen pal for Speed until they met at school.
When Speed turned ten, his family moved to Britain, but frequented Australia. The move was traumatising for Speed, as he had to abandon his friends and local animals back in Australia. He grew closer to his sister during this time, though he also kept a rather large collection of animals in his room. Much to his mother's horror, on one trip to Australia, he had smuggled a snake back home and kept it in his bedroom. His mother promptly apparated the snake back to its native country and since then Speed and his family travelled using muggle means.
When Speed was eleven, he got his letter to attend the local magical school, something that greatly excited him. He wanted change and was excited to finally be able to begin to learn magic and he hoped to become a powerful wizard. His first plan was to learn all he could about magical creatures, herbs and potions, as he had been interesting in those subjects since he could read and walk.
[li] History During School:
Speed was sorted into Hufflepuff house, while his sister was a Gryffindor. This saddened him because he was used to her being there, but this quickly passed. He found that his friend, Jace Venturino, had also been sorted in Hufflepuff. They were virtually inseparable, until Jace was pulled out of his school towards the end of first year and moved to France. They remained pen pals. Speed found many friends in various houses, often breaking down the usual House rivalries. Speed grew closer to his to animal companion, a Barn Owl named Josie, and was often seen chatting to him and sending letters through him. In second year, Speed decided to go for the Hufflepuff Quiddtich Team, which he succeeded in doing and became the Hufflepuff Seeker after the previous Seeker graduated. Speed was a good seeker, hard working student and did his best to keep up with friends, though his social life was always the first to slip. He found that his favourite subjects were Care of Magical Creatures, Transfiguration, Herbology and Potions. His least favourite subject was Astronomy and he nearly failed. However, he happened to gain a lot of help from several of his friends, including a boy named Lucas Martinez, who happened to be rather talented in that fieldand, having been the year above Speed, knew what he could expect. They had many study sessions, though admittedly, very little studying occurred. Speed's other classes included Defence Against the Dark Arts, Charms, History of Magic and Ancient Runes. He enjoyed Ancient Runes the most from the other subjects, finding the unusual connection with the trees the runes were extracted from intriguing. Although he enjoyed these subjects, he still preferred his CoMC lessons and professor. He became good friends with his professor and often used him as a confident when things grew tough.
During his third year, Speed managed to convince his mother to get him a kneazle. He was excited to have the creature, even though his mother was less than pleased by its presence. However, it was a step up from his snake-smuggling days. He named the creature Tony, and kept him for many years. Ebony, his rabbit, was also another creature he kept and had a special connection with. He could often be found conversing freely with both creatures, and taking Ebony for walks. He asked his father how to become an animagus, having heard the term in his previous year, and it was then that he learned that he needed to be trained, it was not an overnight thing. With this new fire in his stomach, Speed planned to be trained by his Transfiguration professor and worked harder in the subject than he ever had. He took extra classes, more work and managed to find a balance in his life.
His fourth year was rather uneventful. While he buried himself under more, and more work, his social interactions with people diminished. He wrote letters to his foreign friends, occasionally took the time to eat and talk, but otherwise was only having contact with people through Quidditch, his training as an animagus, his extra classes with his Care of Magical Creatures professor, and the occasional rule breaking he did. While a good student, his habitual loyalty to others made it difficult for him to say no, even if he knew that they would be breaking the rules. Speed grew an unhealthy obsession with work, and caused himself to undergo extreme stress. After a strict intervention by his sister (one he did not take kindly to) Speed was brought back to reality. His worries of failing slowly slipped by and he became calmer. However, half-way through his fourth year, Speed managed to get lost in the forest, having adventured in their with friends to have a party and then being separated. A large storm had rolled in and caused flooding, making Speed have to take refuge in the trees while his friends escaped. He endured the storm barely, returning to the castle with a terrible cold, some scratches and bruising from running and falling, and a distinct fear of thunder. Even after trying to defeat this fear, Speed has been incapable of feeling comfortable in or near storms as flashback from the forest still manage to haunt him.
Speed became a prefect in his fifth year, something that surprised him greatly. He was excited to be entrusted with this responsibility, and decided to try and become more personable. He spent large amounts of time taking care of younger students, helping them if they were lost and befriending them so they knew they had someone they could call on. He kept his head to books, though admittedly he nearly (once again) failed Astronomy. The only thing that saved him was the extra credit he managed to get from working later than other students and doing more assignments. Speed also spent some time dating, though with the various people he tried to date, nothing really came of them as he never found the time to take relationships seriously. This was also the time where he became the co-captain of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team.
Speed disliked his sixth year the most as this was the time when Speed began to drift from his sister. They were growing apart and their differences were becoming more apparent. While Speed's life was stabilising, Stephanie's life seemed to be falling. They were still close, but it was a strained closeness. He found himself spending more time with his friend, Lucas Martinez, and even spent more time around the Gryffindor than he did his own sister. This was also when Speed started dating and actually putting effort into relationships. His problem was that he would get attached to his partner quite quickly and have a bad breakup, and then be lead into another relationship, which he would become attached to and the cycle would continue. Fortunately, he got out of this habit when he began failing his classes and started to become more studious once more. By time exams came around, he returned to having a severely lacking social life and was working solidly in his classes. He even managed to get in the top five of his Astronomy class, although History of Magic was still a thorn in his side.
Speed graduated school with a lot of memories, good and bad. He did extremely well in Care of Magical Creatures, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration and Ancient Runes, getting Os for those subjects after a lot of hard work. Charms, Potions and Herbology were classes he performed solidly in, and he got es after a lot of hard work. However, Speed, even after working incredibly hard, only got an A in Astronomy, but was happy to know that he had done his best. History of Magic, however, he received a P and doesn't like to take about it. Once he left, he moved to New Zealand to spend some time with his Uncle. But first, he went to France to check in on his old friend, Jace, who had become a Quidditch star. He was really proud of him and they promised to remain good friends. Jace visited Speed on many occasions throughout their holidays and still writes.</LI>

Speed moved to New Zealand after he graduated, leaving his old life behind. He was saddened by the death of his owl and buried him in the backyard of his house and planted a tree. He worked for a little while with his uncle in bars, but continued to neglect his relationship with his sister. Though he kept in close contact with his friend Lucas. He also kept in contact with an old friend of his, Mikayla Blade. He wrote letters to her and attended her graduation, making sure to try and steer her onto the right path. The two began dating a year later, though this turned out to be a mistake. Though Speed fell heavily for Miss Blade, she did not feel the same and they had a falling out, Speed leaving the relationship before he was further heartbroken. He had no idea that they were permanently bonded together through the birth of a child, whom Mikayla named Caeden Blade. Speed knew nothing of him. After a few years of working with his uncle, Speed came across the opportunity of a lifetime, to be able to teach at the local magical school. He packed his bags as soon as he got the job and has been working at Hogwarts New Zealand as the Care of Magical Creatures professor for a little over a year and has loved every second. He writes to his old professor occasionally, telling him about how everything has fallen into place and that he is grateful for everything.
Speed's relationship with his sister continued to deteriorate. However, he managed to meet with her and patch things up for good. A lot of skeletons were hung out to dry, and some things he heard were hard to wear, but they mended their fences and Speed is happy to have her back in his life. Speed also found out about his son, Caeden, and managed to meet him. He was also able to meet up with his old friend, Lucas, and has been planning to meet up with the graduated Gryffindor once again. After his brief reconciliation with Mikayla, they decided that it would not work out, and once again went their separate ways - but this time with Speed paying close attention to the life of his son, Caeden. A few months later it became apparently that Mikayla was pregnant with their second child, but after another failed attempt of being together, they decided that they could be good friends, and work together to raise their children - but could not be lovers. The child, Ezra Blade, looks a fair bit like Speed, and is around three years younger than his older brother, Caeden.
Speed's younger siblings, Sladen and Sloane came to live with him, but after a few weeks, Sladen moved on, while Sloane still remains. With the knowledge that Sladen would be back, Speed keeps a room ready for him. Speed ran into an older man in the forest, Gregory Yearling, after the lion animagus accidently mistook Speed's Hare form as perspective lunch and attacked him, giving him a leg wound.

Frederick is Speed's paternal grandfather. He and Speed never got along, with Speed being his oldest grandson and not being the type of grandson the man wanted. While Speed was a delicate child, Frederick wanted a more aggressive grandson that he could dote on. Their differences truly flared when Speed grew older and became a more confident person, standing up to his grandfather on occasion. They no-longer speak to each other.

Speed's father. Ashton is an Australian professor, working at the top muggle university in the country. Speed enjoys spending time with his father when he is in Australia, and finds his passionate rants entertaining.

When back in Australia, he enjoys going shopping with his mother, and listening to her insistent gossiping of other members of the family.

Speed's fraternal twin sister. She is older than Speed by a few minutes. When children they were inseparable, however, as they grew older, their relationship became strained. While Speed is trying to fix it, it is not a priority of his to fix his relationship with his sister, as he feels that she wants nothing to do with him.
[li] Sloane Stella Sybil Stark
Sloane is Speed's younger sister, by three years. Their relationship was on quite good terms when they were younger and through school, with their hard working and studious personalities complimenting each other. However, after Speed left school and neglected to communicate with her on a regular basis, he missed some important parts of her life, and this has left a strain on their relationship. She occasionally lives with him, watching over his animals when he's at work.
[li] Skeet Solomon Shea Stark
Known now as Sladen. Sladen is Speed's younger brother, and the baby of the family, by seven years. Speed and Sladen never got along. Especially during school, when Sladen was particularly aggravating. Speed and Sladen had a rivalry to always best each other in everything they did, even though Speed had little ambition to constantly challenge his brother, he was not one to allow him to win easily. Speed and Sladen have many other differences that cause a strain on their relationship, but regardless, Sladen is always welcome in Speed's home when he's not travelling and running off from people.

Bailey is Speed's paternal aunt whom he has not seen in many years. The witch lives in Russia, and they are not close enough for Speed to take the time to compose a letter to write to her.

He trusts Cameron almost like a brother, and easily considers him his closest family member.

Mai-ling is the adopted daughter of Speed's half-uncle, Cameron. Speed has spent a bit of time with the young girl, and quite likes her. While she is a very skittish girl, he gives her the space she desires, and whenever he is asked to look after her, he finds that he received no trouble from her.

Caeden is Speed's first son to Mikayla Blade. He was born March fifth, twenty thirty-two. Speed did not know of the boy's existence until recently, when he and Mikayla got back together, only to split up again. He adores his young son, and gave him a pet flobberworm for his birthday. He enjoys climbing things and getting into his mother's stuff. He has trouble with obedience, but is not a bad boy.
