Sofia had just finished dropping off a letter to her parents in the Owlery and seriously contemplating whether she should get an owl in the future so she could have a dedicated messenger, but she supposed the idea of browsing through the various different owls for a kind, willing one was also somewhat fun. What was less fun was how she managed to still somehow get herself lost and twisted around on her descent from the Owlery. Somehow she'd made a wrong turn and ended up in a different part of the North tower, but since it was a nice Spring day and the sun was quickly setting, she couldn't find it in herself to be upset about where she'd ended up. Sofia walked up to the edge of the tower to overlook the castle grounds and admired the view quietly.

Even though the majority of Geo's family (at least, those that could read and write) were now at Hogwarts, there was still one person that was no longer in the school. Geo had been closest with her elder step-daughter growing up, and now that Bailey had graduated and she was living her own life outside of the school, the former Auror was keen to make sure she didn't feel as though she couldn't still talk to them.

Professor Adler had already delivered the letter and was on her way to the Gryffindor common room when she walked through the North Tower, spotting a younger student on their own, seemingly in deep thought. It was getting late in the day however, and most students had already retired to their dorms for the evening. "It's pretty up here, isn't it." Geo said quietly, trying not to make the girl jump in surprise.

Sofia didn't know how long she'd been standing there admiring the sunset before she heard someone approaching. When she turned to see who else was coming, she saw an older woman and then smiled timidly at her comment. "Yes it is," she said politely, unsure how else to respond. Then her thoughts tumbled out naturally the moment she stopped overthinking it. "I've never been this high up before, I feel like I can see every cloud there is," she commented, staring out at the scenery again because she was afraid to maintain eye contact too long.

She vaguely recognized the woman as a professor or staff of the school, since she'd seen her at the high table amongst the other adults during the start of term feast, but she didn't seem to teach any of the subjects Sofia was taking this semester so she couldn't be sure. It occurred to her though that she was a figure of authority. Reluctantly she asked, "Is it okay for me to be out here?"
