Kaia's adoptive family thought that it would be a good idea to make friends outside of the castle, ever since she found out she was adopted Kaia hadn't been socializing with people much, though she had sent letters home to her foster family, and had been in touch with them every two weeks or so. She loved spending time with her biological sister but she had promised not to detach herself from the people who raised her. So she was trying not to worry them too much either and had agreed to be sending letters back and forth to a student from beauxbatons. Kaia reached the Owlery and once she fed one of the Owls she sent it off with her letter, hoping the experience would help her come out of her shell again.​

Dear Maia

I guess we'd have to start at some point, right? I don't know if you know already, but my name is Kaia and I'm fifteen. I was sorted into Ravenclaw and I used to live in England. I promised my family I'd start talking to people again and they think it's good to make friends outside of Hogwarts.

Um, how's the weather over there? Here it gets really cold as it's nearing the winter season. Hope all is well.
