Athena had a lot of free time this semester, so on a particularly boring day she decided to send a quick note to her sister. She wondered if Kamaria would have something interesting to share. Athena hadn't seen her as often over the vacation since Kamaria had been busy with work but they had still spent a good amount of time together. Athena looked up to her sister. She wanted to be like her desperately, though she had long ago realized that she was nowhere near as smart. Still, the two looked considerably alike and had similar body types, so Athena always enjoyed shopping with her sister and borrowing her clothes. Athena's style was slightly different, but Kamaria's clothes were always amazing.

Finding her owl, Athena clipped her letter and watched the owl soar off into the bright blue sky.

I told you that I felt like I was forgetting something! I realized this morning that I left my new skirt at home – the blue one with the lace on the bottom. Can you send it to me? I’ve been dying to wear it.

How are things? How is work? Doing anythingone interesting?

I wish you, Levi or Ariah had warned me about how much this year was going to drag. It sucks. Bad. I’m not going to need any of these stupid classes anyway. This is frickin torture, but I’ve been thinking of hosting a little party soon so that should spice things up.

Kamaria Zhefarovich was in the process of trying to find a new home for her, so that she did not have to live with her father anymore. She had a great job now, and hoped that she would, in the end, have a place of her own. The sneaking around business was getting a little old, especially now that she was no longer a teenager. Sighing, she prepared the package for her little sister and sent the owl on its way. Her sister deserved a response by now, since it took her ages to find that skirt anyway. Kara could not thank her father enough.​

Sorry about the wait. With dad being gone and work, it took ages to find that skirt. But it is in the package, clean and ready to wear. I should have charmed it to make it shorter, so you can attract some suitable males.

Things are a little weird right now. Dad is out fighting for Ivy, so he doesn't realize that I am looking for another place to live. Work is work, boring and stuff for normal people but law makes things interesting for me. "Doing anyone interesting"? Did I read that right? Well I am sort of seeing this one guy on occasion but being homebound because of dad is making it difficult. I am 21, you'd think he would let me at least date.

I didn't want to spoil the surprise. It is your last year, so make the most of it. If anything, the year will go by quickly, and eventually you will miss the classes. I know I did. Still do. Speaking of spicing things up, I hear that one of our uncles or someone in that generation is taking over Potions to let Azerail have a break. I'll update you with more once I know more.

With classes and everything going on in her life, it wasn't until the day of the Yule Ball that Athena came across the letter that her sister had written her. She'd read it when it first arrived, of course, but she had tossed the letter to the side and forgotten about it. As she opened it and looked it over, Athena's eyes widened. "Oh crap" she muttered as she debated whether or not to respond. In the end, she decided that she both needed and wanted to reply. Some of the things that her sister had mentioned deserved a reply.

I am so sorry I didn't reply sooner. I completely forgot. Thanks for the skirt. I think the skirt is a fine length. I've enclosed the picture that Eli took when he helped me pick out my Yule ball dress. It was too bad you could not come, but Eli was good help. Whatever you do, don't show Dad or Levi! They'd have a fit, but I think I look damned sexy. I'll let you know what my date thinks of it. Long story about how that happened. Haha.

What do you mean Dad is fighting for Ivy? Who is she? The blonde or some other one? Forget it, don't reply here. Just tell me when I get home. And I definitely want to hear about your boyfriend!! We'll come up with a plan to get you out.

I have to start getting ready for the ball, so I'm gone to wrap this up. I'll see you tomorrow afternoon which means we have a lot of catching up to do!

Slipping the magical picture of her slowly spinning around in the dress, Athena sealed the envelope and quickly scribbled her address. Racing out of the dungeon, Athena made her way to the owlery and sent her owl off.

That's fine, you know how my work is. It makes me busier than anything else. That is one hell of a dress. I am so sorry I could not have come but this one, wow, our little brother has some pretty good tastes. Anything to piss off daddy. I promise to keep it hidden from them. You know dad and Levi would have a fit if they saw you with this on, or anywhere in the same room as you. I bet you did. Oh you had a date? Who is he and what blood status was he?

I'll tell you more about her when you get home then. Err. Boyfriend? I don't think you can call him that. Rurik is just... Well, it is complicated but he does the job well on getting out my frustrations. I'll come up with a plan soon enough. You might get in trouble if you were involved.

Please, please, please don't be too mad at me. I know Daddy must be furious but I don't want you mad at me too. Did Uncle Kalif tell you guys that he's making me spend every Saturday in detention? Every single one. And did he really have to take my badge? I was already suspended from my duties. This seriously blows.

And, on top of that I've been forced into helping the first years out with practicing their spells to earn it back. Even the muggle born ones and they are all idiots. I can't wait to graduate. Seriously, I would have rather been put under the Cruciatus curse. Do you think Daddy can talk our dear uncle into just giving me back my badge? I promise I've learned my lesson.

Also, please tell me that Levi and Elijah don't know about any of this. Otherwise, I'll never hear the end of this.

Athena sealed the letter and addressed it quickly. It had been a bit since Professor Styx had caught the seventh years and punished them. And, Athena had still not heard from her sister. She attached the letter to her owl, watching it soar into the sky. Biting her fingernail, Athena turned and headed back to her common room. She had agreed to help her cousin practice her spellwork. Hopefully, she would be a bit brighter than the first years she had helped several nights before.

I'm not mad, sister. I am just disappointed. Dad was furious, I've not seen him that mad in ages. Dad told me about the entire punishment, and well, let's just say that it would have been mild if you had come home with that on your shoulders. By the time you graduate, he will have cooled down. But from what I have heard, you better be glad that you are graduating this year. He is coming to school to teach.

I know, that might sound horrible, but it could be worse. Did you know that Kalif once made Levi scrub the owlery with the smallest of brushes with one hand and no magic? All just for punching some Snow kid. I hope that the detentions you are going through are not anything like that. Just a few more weeks, keep that in mind and keep studying sister. You need to keep that head up and earn back the badge if you haven't already.

Actually...they both know. Everyone in the family knows. Dad has a temper, remember?
