It was rare to find Yerik Rhys doing anything not related to his academic. In fact, the Ravenclaw might even go so far as to say it was privilege that few were ever granted. He was the sort of student who spent all of his time in the library, and he was the sort who you'd see in the classroom on a regular basis. The fifth year prefect was more of a self-study type of student, and that suited him much better. Leave the classroom learning to those it helped.Yerik Rhys was sure that the teachers were good at their jobs though he was always around to witness this for himself it was just that their styles and his didn't mesh sometimes. There was nothing wrong with that. It wasn't often that the prefect spent time with other students pursuing something academic, either. For the most part, Yerik Rhys learned things on his own, unless whatever he was doing really required a partner. He couldn't practice dueling by himself, for instance. This was one of those rare occasions when the pureblood year honestly needed someone else with him to practice, which wasn't something he was particularly happy about, to be honest. In the midst of early morning air, Yerik Rhys found himself inside the Kitchen lurking for anything edible. He skipped dinner last night just to finish his patrolling while doing his homework. Ah the perks of being a prefect! When you could sneak out and have some spare food to eat. He wasn't actually sneaking out but it sounded wrong to eat in the Kitchens when you could just go straight to the Great Hall. He figured it to be lonely since he woke up too early than the rest of the school, making him the only one awake at four am as far as he knows.
The school elves seems to know that he would be passing by, leaving him a newly cooked meal to munch on. Turning on the light didn't seem to be a good idea since the brightness of the sun is starting to come out. Yerik Rhys started to eat his meal and as soon as he finished he saw an early riser elf and took the plate away without any permission. Not that he needed to anyway, he stayed there for a moment. Looking at the window as a scene of the sunset bursting in made him smile, it was like no other. It would be nice if he could see this in the towers, from above. Maybe someday he'll do that, he ran his fingers through his hair wondering what to do next. There's a few hours he could use before some students would wake up, though decided to just enjoy the Kitchens. Since he haven't been here for like years or ever, letting his eyes wander around as a lot of thoughts started to swirl in his head. Things like the letter he had been receiving from a so called pen pal, his family, Quidditch and his classes. From time to time he likes to make himself worry just so he could think of ways to fix his problems. He couldn't think of anything to do anymore, might as well go to the library read some more books to keep him company. Yerik Rhys would always do this when he's awake at three of four in the morning.
Back in the library again, Yerik despised the amount of homework they were given sometimes. At least today he wasn't too tired like he was last time he was here. The titles of the books around him distracted him from the book he was currently reading, but he kept trying to concentrate, hopefully he'd run out of titles soon. He tapped his foot on the floor each time he finished reading another word to keep his concentration, and soon his foot was tapping quickly enough to imagine that he had an awkward twitch. And stop. This was not going to happen again, him being in the library and knowing that not all students liked the library. Yerik Rhys made his way back to the Kitchens, returning to the place where he spent his time just a couple of minutes before. He wasn't here for desert but in hopes that someone hungry would come and have a worthwhile conversation with him.
