It was rare to find Yerik Rhys doing anything not related to his academic. In fact, the Ravenclaw might even go so far as to say it was privilege that few were ever granted. He was the sort of student who spent all of his time in the library, and he was the sort who you'd see in the classroom on a regular basis. The fifth year prefect was more of a self-study type of student, and that suited him much better. Leave the classroom learning to those it helped.Yerik Rhys was sure that the teachers were good at their jobs though he was always around to witness this for himself it was just that their styles and his didn't mesh sometimes. There was nothing wrong with that. It wasn't often that the prefect spent time with other students pursuing something academic, either. For the most part, Yerik Rhys learned things on his own, unless whatever he was doing really required a partner. He couldn't practice dueling by himself, for instance. This was one of those rare occasions when the pureblood year honestly needed someone else with him to practice, which wasn't something he was particularly happy about, to be honest. In the midst of early morning air, Yerik Rhys found himself inside the Kitchen lurking for anything edible. He skipped dinner last night just to finish his patrolling while doing his homework. Ah the perks of being a prefect! When you could sneak out and have some spare food to eat. He wasn't actually sneaking out but it sounded wrong to eat in the Kitchens when you could just go straight to the Great Hall. He figured it to be lonely since he woke up too early than the rest of the school, making him the only one awake at four am as far as he knows.

The school elves seems to know that he would be passing by, leaving him a newly cooked meal to munch on. Turning on the light didn't seem to be a good idea since the brightness of the sun is starting to come out. Yerik Rhys started to eat his meal and as soon as he finished he saw an early riser elf and took the plate away without any permission. Not that he needed to anyway, he stayed there for a moment. Looking at the window as a scene of the sunset bursting in made him smile, it was like no other. It would be nice if he could see this in the towers, from above. Maybe someday he'll do that, he ran his fingers through his hair wondering what to do next. There's a few hours he could use before some students would wake up, though decided to just enjoy the Kitchens. Since he haven't been here for like years or ever, letting his eyes wander around as a lot of thoughts started to swirl in his head. Things like the letter he had been receiving from a so called pen pal, his family, Quidditch and his classes. From time to time he likes to make himself worry just so he could think of ways to fix his problems. He couldn't think of anything to do anymore, might as well go to the library read some more books to keep him company. Yerik Rhys would always do this when he's awake at three of four in the morning.

Back in the library again, Yerik despised the amount of homework they were given sometimes. At least today he wasn't too tired like he was last time he was here. The titles of the books around him distracted him from the book he was currently reading, but he kept trying to concentrate, hopefully he'd run out of titles soon. He tapped his foot on the floor each time he finished reading another word to keep his concentration, and soon his foot was tapping quickly enough to imagine that he had an awkward twitch. And stop. This was not going to happen again, him being in the library and knowing that not all students liked the library. Yerik Rhys made his way back to the Kitchens, returning to the place where he spent his time just a couple of minutes before. He wasn't here for desert but in hopes that someone hungry would come and have a worthwhile conversation with him.

David decided that since he had now been here a little while, he needed to do some exploring. It's not that he had a thirst for adventure or anything, just that he liked to know where it was he would be living for the next little while. He made his way out of the common room and was sure to look around corners. He hadn't really listened to the rules all too well, so he wasn't sure if he was allowed to be up and about this early.

He did his best to not get lost in the dungeons, he wasn't exactly sure where he was going. He finally came across the kitchens and saw small elfs busying themselves around. He was offered food many times, but he turned the majority of them down, except for that one piece of pie. That one he couldn't resist.

He soon saw a kid about his age, a prefect by the looks of his badge. "Crap." He thought to himself. He should probably just introduce himself. He walked up to the Ravenclaw Prefect and tapped him on the shoulder.

Sorry for how late this was. I've had IRL shizz to deal with.

He didn't felt that hungry, so he just stood there keeping his gaze at the window. Until he decided to just lean at the wall and wait for someone, still taping his foot every now and then. At some point he grew tired, he took a seat at the nearest chair he could find. He felt someone tapping his shoulder and immediately he wondered who it was. Yerik Rhys looked at him, unable to recognize the student. He must have been a transfer or something, Hey." he uttered, mostly he would meet girls. It was a surprise to him to see a unfamiliar looking boy around the school not that he have memorized any students so far. The awkward silence made him want to say a few more words but he couldn't really say anything more. There was nothing to do really, since it would always start with a hello that hopefully will lead to How are you? What's you name and a lot more of questions in return. Yerik Rhys stood there waiting for the boys reply, since he wasn't fond of making a conversation or talking that much at all really.

The wind entered the room and caught the prefects face, his hair was again getting long. Soon enough he'll go to their family barbershop and let it be cut. Unlike his older brother Luka who seems to love his long locks, he's been bragging about it for like forever. Some people would be mistaken of his indentity, thinking he's a girl when it' just his hair. It was also a way for him to hook up with boy and gays, on the other hand his younger brother Ben seems to be growing up well mannered, Naddy seems to be interested in enrolling at Hogwarts New Zealand as well. Only a few more years or when Yerik Rhys graduates she could come aboard the school, though something tells him that isn't a good idea. Since he was remade here, the claw wanted an own name for him and he was worried his sister would ruined his reputation, as if he has one yet.

"So, what's up?"

David tried to smile, he took a few more bits of the pie casually, or as casually as one can when in a kitchen that might or might not be out of bounds next to a prefect. He decided to extend his hand and offer a shake, something he normally didn't do. He was going to attempt to be social.

"I'm David, fifth year transfer."

He put on an obviously fake smile.

Patrolling wasn't that hard as long as there aren't any meddling students around the corridors late at night. Actually he likes patrolling, it gave him a reason to bring a book at time and just enjoy the empty corridors to himself, while leaning on wall. Just as the boy spoke, he looked at him, trying his soft features to come alive. With his piercing blue eyes and well defined jaw line, it was hard to look happy and friendly, not that he was into that kind of feelings. "Nothing much. Just taking a break from patrolling, how about you?" Yerik Rhys replied, his left eyebrow slowly raising by itself. It's pretty much early for someone to arrive at the kitchen and inside him he was impressed with the boy being a early riser like him. He didn't at all looked familiar, since he primarily knew all the faces of the fifth years in Hogwarts New Zealand. Not all of them but some. Everyone told him it's easy to befriend someone, but with Yerik Rhys it kind of felt difficult. There was something that made his gut hurt, like he couldn't really socialize that well.

Hopefully sooner or later he could be able to talk comfortable to the rest of the students in school, he needed to gain friends. If only could get away from his usual ways of being a loner, every time he would get this feeling for loneliness inside him. Like it would be so amazing to talk to some students, other than his family. "Yerik, fifth year prefect." he tried to be modest as possible but he couldn't hide the truth of him being a prefect. Since he's shiny Ravenclaw Prefect badge was pinned to his chest and everyone could see that, besides deep inside he felt so proud of himself. It would be pathetic to lie to him and pretend to be someone else, "Transfer? You're sorted in Slytherin, right?" he asked a obvious question just to keep the conversation going. For what it's worth, he tried to put on a smile, a real one.

"Yeah."

He was already running out of things to say. Why was it that socializing was never easy for him. Urg, he sort of assumed that it was his depression, or maybe he just sucked at life or something. Who knows? This guy wasn't getting mad at him or anything, which was good. "Umm... I'm not the best at the whole meeting new people thing... Sorry..."

He paused kind of awkwardly and brushed some of his long black hair out of his eyes. This kid seemed decently nice, maybe they could be friends, or maybe he was a complete jerk and just had to be a little nice because of his prefect badge. He hoped for the best and tried to keep their awkward conversation going.

"I'm not a jerk, like some of the other Slytherins though. My house certainly has made a bad name for it's self."

Yerik Rhys isn't a man of words, as much as possible he doesn't like to talk at all. But just for the sake of socializing he needed to feel the vibe, to talk to the other people. Facing the student, he watched hos expression and just nodded in agreement. There wasn't much to say just a few words is enough for him, really. "Likewise." he replied, a slight smirk on his face. It was refreshing to know that someone shares the same interest like him, quiet and preserved. He just stood there, not sure of what to say next. It all started to be awkward, he wasn't making any progress at all or was he? "Of course. I'm not of those guys who likes to judge people based on their house." he tried to say as clearly as he can. It was true, he didn't liked judging people since it would come back to him.

Though a lot of people might understood him, he knew the real him. There was no reason to argue with the people who didn't liked him, it was their problem and this is his life.He almost yawned, the boredom was swallowing them in. If nothing happens he would leave an instant of course with saying his goodbye. The only thing left was to reminisce, about his younger years in Hogwarts New Zealand. He then wondered where the boy came from, being a transfer and why transfer now? Of course he could ask that since it might be a bit personal, it was his to keep.

David nodded when Yerik mentioned not judging, he too was noticing the awkwardness setting in on the conversation, he figured he should probably just end it and go on his way, after all he did have classes in while, and at least he had met someone now.

I'll see you around, Yerik"

He offered Yerik a handshake, and than walked off, to continue getting a feel for the place.

OOCOut of Character:
I figured that with third mutual lack of social skills, I should end the conversation, we can continue their relationship in a different RP, but hopefully they'll find things to talk about than.
