Aphrodite had felt a pain in her stomach, and wasn't sure whether it had to do with the baby or not, but worried, she went to the hospital anyway. She apparated to Obsidian Harbour, and kept feeling pains every few minutes, and had no idea what it meant. Before she left for the hospital, she sent word to Yakov who was still in town. Why did she not read up on pregnancy at some point in her life? Holding onto the bottom of her bulging belly, she did a sort of shuffle into the hospital and told the nurse at the front desk what her problem was. Her head was spinning, and she felt like everything was happening so fast; it was probably not a good idea for her to have apparated while pregnant. After giving her information, she was rushed into one of the rooms, and lay there, in pain, the drugs not having kicked in yet. She waited to see if Yakov would show, and she really hoped he would.

The nurse had come in with the doctor, and said that they were going to have to go with an emergency C-Section. Sweat was pouring down her forehead, and Aphrodite had no idea what was going on. She was rushed into another room, one that they do surgeries in. More needles were put inside her, and she realised that they were doing this the muggle way. A sheet was put up, blocking her from seeing her bulging stomach, and a nurse was brushing her forehead, trying to calm her down. She could feel the doctors cutting through her stomach, and she groaned. It didn't hurt, but she hated the feeling of her stomach opening up.

What felt like hours later, she heard a shriek. Well, more of a high pitch cry, and she knew that her baby was alright-for now. The nurse began to talk to her, but Aphrodite could only make out bits and pieces of it because of her neurotic state combined with the medecine she was given, "Congratu...it's a girl...complications...lungs not..." Before she fainted.

She woke up back in her room, completely stitched up and in much pain. She waited for the nurse to come in, almost forgetting the baby was out of her. Aphrodite yearned to know where Yakov was.

Yakov had only just received word of Aphrodite's condition and within seconds he was there at St Mungo's.
A member of staff lead him through to where she was Yakov stared about the room, eyes wide. He ran to Aphrodite's side, taking her hand.
"Are you alright?! What happened? Where-.." He fell silent, his heart sinking.
The member of staff had informed him that the baby had been born but that was all he knew.
Yakov gave her hand a small squeeze and kissed her forehead. So things hadn't gone as planned? The birth had been premature so there were bound to be complications but.. Yakov could only hope they weren't serious.
"It's going to be alright.." He whispered.

Within a few minutes, Aphrodite turned her head, and heard Yakov's voice, then his face appeared next to hers. He kissed her on the forehead, and a tear rolled down her face, she was worried sick about her baby. "There's something wrong with her lungs, I don't know exactly what though." She managed to get out. She squeezed his hand, and tried to sit up. She groaned, her stitches were not yet healed, the potions she had been given couldn't work instantly. She then recalled that the nurses had told her, before she fell asleep. It would heal in a few hours, and she assumed the time hadn't gone up yet.

The nurse came in, once again, and told them both that their daughter was breathing, but with some help, and that her lungs had not fully developped, so she would have to remain in intensive care for the next little while; but she would be alright. Aphrodite looked up at Yakov, and gave a small smile. Nobody had ever seen her in such a raw, emotional state of mind. "She's going to be alright. Our daughter, will be okay!" She exclaimed, though her voice small.

Yakov had been about to break down when Aphrodite told him the bad news but then a few moments later, a nurse joined them and announced that their daughter was breathing and that she would be alright.
Yakov swore under his breath as relief engulfed him.
He smiled back at Aphrodite, his eyes twinkling. He was a daddy now. He had helped to bring another life into the world.
He gave her hand a light squeeze, knowing everything would be alright. "You try to get some rest now." He said softly to Aphrodite. "I'll stay here with you." How long would it be before he could meet his daughter for the first time? Hopefully only hours.

Aphrodite gave a weak smile, as Yakov said that he would stay with her. Her body was sore, and she was exhausted, yet, her mind was racing a mile a minute. She opened her mouth to say something to Yakov, but she leaned back into her bed, and fell asleep, sweat and tears dried up on her face.

Three hours later, Aphrodite woke up and felt completely healed. She could sit up, and her stomach didn't hurt anymore. Turning her head to Yakov, she smiled. The blinds on the window behind him were closed, but little rays of sunshine squeezed through the cracks and were shining on the side of his face, making him look even more gorgeous then before. "How is she doing?" She asked him, and realized that she was still holding his hand. She gave it a squeeze, and with her free hand, she adjusted the pillow behind her, so she wasn't straining her back to sit up and look at him. She could tell he was stressed out. His hair was a mess, and his eyes were drooping. "You need to rest, and we should start to think about a name for our new, daughter." She said quietly, looking into his eyes. She had a few names in mind, but two couldn't help but recur, Athena and Artemis.

"She's fine," Yakov said, a smile on his face as he looked down at Aphrodite.
While she had slept, he had cleaned the sweat and tears from her face and once again she was her beautiful self.
"Well," Yakov answered as Aphrodite mentioned naming their daughter, "It's up to you what she is named- You are the one who suffered all those months so it's only right."
Yakov himself was now exhausted. Yes, their daughter was fine but had been so stressed that he now looked a mess.
Although, for some strange reason, he could hear a name echoing in the back of his head. "I like the name Athena." He said, speaking the name he had heard. Why could he hear it?

Aphrodite smiled weakly, her energy coming back to her by the minute. She nodded her head, "Yes, I agree with the name Athena. It's like you took the name right out of my mouth." She was feeling really energized, and got the urge to go and see her daughter. She turned her body to go get out of bed, when the nurse came in holding Athena. Excuse me Ms. Fox, you need to stay in bed to be fully rested! The nurse said in a high-pitched voice. Aphrodite turned to her, and gave her a threatening look, but the nurse remained firm. With hesitation, she brought her body back to be on the bed, and covered herself with the blanket again. She impatiently waited for the nurse to give her Athena, so she could hold her in her arms.

Her outreached arms grasped her newborn daughter, who was making giggling noises, and right away she noticed that she had her eyes, Yakov's mouth and a headfull of hair. Not taking her eyes off her beautiful baby girl, she whispered, "She has your mouth." She then began to tear up. My daughter. You are destined to be wise, and a warrior at that. She thought to herself, already setting an invisible standard for her daughter.
