Today was the day that Izaak Jay Finch turned twenty. Twenty. It was hard to believe that his existence had endured twenty years which, if he was planning to die at one hundred, was one whole fifth of his life. But Izaak had never liked to dwell on the whole doomsday attitude and he certainly was not now as he strolled down the streets of Brightstone with his hands buried deep into the pockets of his well-loved bomber jacket. The only thing that would get him down today would be the treacherous storm that was looming in the deceptive softness of the nimbus clouds overhead. It had rained every day for the past week and a half. I know its winter, but its my birthday as well. The twenty year old thought bitterly as he eyed them with a menacing glint dark in his azure blue eyes.
Things were headed in a very different direction as opposed to the giant, wild party he had had last year. No, tonight he was going to go out with Isabella and perhaps tomorrow hed meet up with his sisters. For a year it was a huge contrast but things had managed to change drastically. For one, he and Alexis were no longer speaking, let alone together. And for another thing, as sad as it was, all the different people he could have called practically family as of last year had made a pass from his life. That was another thing Izaak never liked to dwell on though, he never liked to remembered the fun hed had with his school friends last August, it only made him pity his present self.
Though on a day like today, these thoughts could not be helped. He missed them so much it ached. There was one girl in particular he missed perhaps the most out of all of them and Izaak never would have imagined that hed run into her on a day like today. But there she was, a little way up the street and heading in his direction. More excited then he had been in weeks, Izaak cupped his hands around his mouth in a makeshift megaphone and called out, Casey Andrea Carlin! Get the hell over here! Perhaps this birthday would be more like his last then initially thought.
