Noémie Lémieux Amor Vanity​

MEANING​

Noémie -The name Noemie comes from the French origin. In French The meaning of the name Noemie is: Variant of Hebrew Naomi: pleasantness, beautiful, delightful.​

Lémieux - Derived from the place name Leymieux, a town in the Rhône-Alpes region of France.​

Amor - In Spanish the meaning of the name Amor is: Love.​

Vanity - "excessive pride in one's appearance, qualities, abilities, achievements, etc.; character or quality of being vain; conceit"​

WHY​

Being the first child, her mother was pretty insistent on what she wanted to call her and eventually settled on the name Noemie, it is the french variant of the spelling, and while now a very uncommon name she decided that would be what to call her. Noemie has always loved her own name, had always been pleased to know the origin of the french variant and the english variant of her name, though is very insistent on teaching people how to say it correctly. The middle name, Lemieux was just because that was where Noemie was born, it had been where her parents had been living at the time, and because they moved not long after her birth they decided to at least give her part of that in her name, Noemie has been back to the town, but has no connection to it, and believes that the middle name stands out starkly against the rest of her name. Amor is her father's surname, which she loves because it means love, and Vanity is her mother's surname that she enjoys far less because of the implication of what it means, but enjoys it because it reminds her of her grandfather's English origins. ​

NICKNAMES​

Emmie, the only person to ever call her that are her family, she doesn't hate it but more is indifferent towards the use of nicknames, although she likes to tell people about her nickname and how it was given to her by her parents when she was young and how to write it, say it, but most people don't ever refer to her as that, it really is only her family and now that they'd grown older it is not used as much, only her brother who is still very young says it. Noemie does like her nickname, though is largely indifferent towards it and it's use. ​

AGE​

Noemie is currently 21 years old. She has never been big on parties or celebrations and much prefers a quiet dinner with her family, given that she also hasn't attended school at this point she hasn't ever had people other than her family to celebrate her birthday with, which has always suited her. Noemie has never interested in doing her birthday with others. ​

D.O.B.​

4th June 2030. Noemie was born in the late morning in the town of Leymieux, a town in the Rhône-Alpes region of France, where her parents lived. She was born at home, after a very quick birth, and the muggle nurse who attended to them because she was the only person who could at the time commented on how stunning a baby Noemie was. Which her mother knew was due to the part-Veela genes she had inherited from her. What surprised her more was how much Noemie took after her father rather than the dominate French/Veela genes which she passed on to her. ​

FATHER​

Jose Amor​

Parents married but kept own names, and Noemie's mother's name gained the lot position at the end becoming her children's surnames. Jose was born in Madrid, Spain to Spanish parents. He was raised in Madrid and attended a private school magical school in the country. After this he travelled for quite a while, experiencing countless muggle things and it was while at a university in the south of France that he met Noemie's mother. They wed shortly after, he continued travelling, and they moved around a lot, because of the easy nature of her job. He died after a muggle motorbike accident near the Andorran border, he died in 2037.​

MOTHER​

Aphrodisia Vanity​

She is the oldest of her siblings and works as a lecturer on French literature at various universities over the years though Primarily at the university in Aix-En-Provence. She met her husband while studying and was devastated for the loss. She loves her two children and does all she can to provide them with the best experiences in life as well as a balance between the two cultures she and her husband had. ​

She has two aunts on her mothers side, Avarice Reilly who has one daughter Ophelia, and Penchant Vanity who is currently childless.​

PET(S)​

They have a family owl, a brown barn owl, whose been in their family since her father died. She loves the owl and spends a lot of her time taking care of it. She knows a lot about owls and their habits. The family owl is called Manny. ​

With her mother being unsure entirely of her magical heritage but knowing of the veela blood and her father's mixed blood heritage it makes Noemie a mixed blood witch. ​

THOUGHTS ON BLOOD STATUS​

Noemie has always placed high importance in blood, she thinks that it is both good to know ones blood and realise the place within society depending upon it, although she'll admit that because she is a part veela this makes things slightly more complicated for her. She doesn't know where that fits into the wider society when it comes to blood. Though she believes in some magical people being better than others, due to her mixed blood nature she doesn't worry about limiting her friendship group or about whom she should marry when that inevitable happens. ​

HOMETOWN​

While born in Leymieux, her family live primarily in Nice, France where she absolutely adores living. They still travel around a lot but her fixed housing is in Nice and she really adores it. It has the perfect combination of everything she likes about life. ​

CURRENT RESIDENCE​

Currently her and her family are residing in Wellington, New Zealand because of her mother's work having brought them here, she's taken it upon herself to learn English during this time and is doing fairly well at it currently. She likes living in New Zealand even though it is so different from living in Nice. ​

Noemie would likely describe herself as fairly fluid, with an interest in the opposite sex but would never turn down others if she liked them. ​

HAIR COLOUR​

Not much unlike her father, Noemie has dark brown hair, it is an almost black colour and very thick, she loves her hair, and likes when it remains very long and though she can't currently do much too it, she very much likes the simple styling that she can do to it. She has always envied the fact her mother has naturally blonde hair, and though she loves her own hair, Noemie very often wishes she could take more after her mother.​

HAIR HAS BEEN DYED​

Due to her young age, Noemie has never dyed her hair. She has been curious about this in the past and although she can magically change her hair colour she has never once desired to do so. She likes her hair colour as it is, and knows that dying it can ruin the hair or at least damage it, so she doesn't really see the benefits in doing anything to ones hair, but she knows or realises that this opinion about it might change. ​

EYE COLOUR​

Noemie takes far more after her father than her mother, and so rather than darker blue eyes like her mother has, Noemie has dark brown eyes just like her father. She always always thought that her eyes suited her a lot, that anything else would've just looked exceedingly odd considering that her hair is very dark and she has tanned skin. Noemie has always liked her eyes and has always been very happy to be the only child to have this colour of eyes, considering that her brother takes far more after her mother. ​

BIRTHMARKS​

Noemie has no visible birth marks anywhere on her body, it is very largely unblemished skin which she has and likes to keep it that way. She also has no scars and nothing which mades her skin stand out. She likes it this way and is happiest knowing that she has this kind of skin. ​

Since Noemie is still very young she hasn't got much of a body type. She's a little smaller than most her age, but she's also a little more round than most, this she knows will fix itself as she's already grown a lot over the past few years leading up to her 11th birthday, and given the height of her mother she is likely to follow in that path. ​

All of her family share the same blood type and are all tested to be sure, because of the amount that she moved around with her family it was always good to know what blood type she was if ever they got into an accident and needed blood. Noemie knows exactly what her blood type is and exactly what it means to her. ​

Since her mother taught her how to read and write she mimicked what her mother did when writing and because of this, Noemie is right handed.It is very clearly her dominant hand, and since Noemie likes to know things she tried with her left had and definitely found that her right was easily the dominant and better hand for her to write with. ​

VOICE​

Noemie has a relatively high pitched voice and has a clear spanish accent when speaking english, even though she's spent most of her time living in France, her Spanish is better than her French, and though both of those languages have no accents when speaking them, her english has a clear accent on it, which can jump between french and Spanish. ​

I CAN SPEAK​

Noemie can speak three languages, French and Spanish because of her french mother and spanish father, and ever since living in New Zealand which her family has for about three months she has easily picked up english as well. She likes Spanish the most out of the three, and english the least, but she doesn't really mind learning it and has found it relatively easy to pick up. ​

I AM ALLERGIC TO​

Noemie is allergic to corriander, though this isn't an awfully common food type and she doesn't often come across she hasn't had much exposure to it and therefore her allergies to it when she eats it can be still very severe. ​

PERSONAL STYLE​

Since she's young, Noemie doesn't have much of a style she wears whatever her mother buys for her, which are usually fairly conservative clothes, things that suit her and that she'll likely grow into. Her mother has always been partial to skirts and nice tops, but Noemie much prefers trousers and casual t-shirts.​

CHARACTER LIKES​

Noemie loves cooking, she loves it so much, there is nothing more fascinating to her than the mixing together of different ingredients to come up with new and exciting combo's. Noemie also really enjoys eating the food that she makes, but add to this, Noemie really likes going for runs and such, she doesn't get to go all that often but she enjoys exercising a lot, which she thinks balances out the food that she eats. Noemie also really loves reading a lot, she's always the type to spout facts about things, even if the situation doesn't call for it. ​

CHARACTER DISLIKES​

Noemie really dislikes rumours, and really hates when people are hyper critical of her for no reason, she thinks that it's so entirely pointless and only damages things. Noemie doesn't like when people are mean to one another, and really hates bullies but finds herself subject to ridicule a lot because of the fact she doesn't always filter what she says. Noemie doesn't like the idea of being overweight, or not being able to go for a run at least once a week. Noemie really hates when people are closed off to new experiences. ​

GOALS​

She'd like to get the best grades in her year, but would also settle on just learning everything that she could about the school and being able to state those facts to others that she comes across. She would like to leave school and much like her mother continue her studies at university and pursue a career in literature like her.​

Noemie is deathly afraid of bees, she is petrified of both bees and wasps and though she knows that they are harmless to her, and that she is more likely to kill one than one is to ever intentionally hurt and kill her she can not be in the same room as one. ​

While Noemie has only ever seen one in her entire life she thinks that they are incredible creatures and loves that they apparently had great memories, which she thinks she also has. ​

Any of the time she spends with her family, because her mother is very busy they don't often get to spend time together but every time that they do, Noemie truly loves it. She thinks it the greatest moments she could ever spend with her family. She loves her family a lot and they are close so it would make sense that thinking of the time they get to spend together would help her create a patronus.​

DEMENTOR​

Losing her dad would be the worst memory but she was young at the time and barely understood what was happening so it would be the continued fact she didn't have a dad any more which would be what the dementor would feed off of. ​

Noemie has always tried to take after her mother, and therefore if she had to admit something, she'd say that she doesn't ever think sheâll be good enough for her mother, or be better than her. She knows what she wants to do with her life but fears that she'll never achieve it, and thinks that she'll never live up to her mother. ​

She'd probably see her father back in her family, the four of them all together again would be what she wants from life really. There would be little else she'd want really, having all the brains in the world would be good, but she'd see her family whole again. ​

Noemie has always been very interested in food, and therefore one of her favourite smells in the world is the fresh smell of any kind of cooking, cookies, muffins, pasta, pizza, anything really that has a strong enough smell, she'll likely really enjoy. Noemie would also say that she loves the smell of fresh bread, her favourite part of being in France is the smell of fresh bread first thing in the day, and added to that is the smell of fresh coffee, Noemie doesn't yet like the taste of it, but she much enjoys smelling it. ​

Her mother. ​

To Noemie her mother is her idol, she loves everything about the woman and thinks everything of the women she would love to be just like her and models much of her personality against her mother. She wants to be just like her when she grows up, and would rather go to Beauxbatons just to be exactly like her mother. ​

Raised in a magical home where muggle religions were never a centre point of anything she doesn't believe in a god and is completely non-practicing in terms of religion, she likes visiting religious buildings but doesn't believe in any of it. She likes to read about things which concern the various religions but that's about it. ​

FIRST THOUGHTS​

Noemie hadn't known what to expect from the school, but she was very much impressed with it, most of her experiences with castles were the ones she'd seen in France but this was entirely different and she thought it was fascinating and had learned so much about it during her reading prior to going and knew that out did what she thought the school was going to look like. Noemie was very impressed by it and knew that it was the right school for her.​

THOUGHTS WHILE BEING SORTED​

Noemie was very nervous about where she might end up, not entirely sure which house that she would be suited for, and internally not knowing either, and in the moment of being sorted she got inevitably worried about where she might end up, specifically thinking that she wouldn't end up in a house at all, but this was a pointless worry since everyone had to be sorted and she was going to get a house. In the end being placed in Ravenclaw was the best place for her, or so she thinks, she can't wait to be in the house and be the best for her and her development in the school. ​

SORTING POST​

Noemie Vanity couldn't believe that she was finally beginning school, from what she had read about this particular school, she was going to have to first be sorted, a thing which didn't happen in the school her mother had attended, since houses in schools were a very english manner of doing things, it was historically the joining together of different school colleges which had given schools houses for students to be placed in and this had spread according to what she'd read to other schools, meaning that most schools within england had houses of some kind though not always based on personality, and had been included in the original Hogwarts and therefore made sense for such a thing to also be included in the new sister school that she was currently walking through the halls of. The brunette had put a lot of effort into how she was appearing to her fellow students, she hadn't wanted to do much besides wear her uniform correctly, but when she had read more and more and realised that the sorting ceremony would be conducted in front of the entire school, teaching staff in all, she had decided to put in a little bit of effort into her appearance, the young girl's uniform was perfectly fitted, the white shirt tucked into her knee length skirt. Noemie wasn't the type who usually took so much time on her appearance, but today felt like the kind of day to do so, and she had pulled her hair out the ponytail and brushed it out, letting it cascade over her shoulders and let her fringe slightly cover her face. The new first year glanced about at the fellow students, taking it all in, the intention to write home to her brother about every little detail and fact that she could gather from her time at the school would, she knew greatly interested her little brother. It was however not really the thing that Noemie knew she should be thinking about as the group of students entered the Great Hall, which was called the Great hall, because it was the main room of the school, where the most of amount of things would collectively happen, it had nothing to do with the way the hall looked but mostly entirely to do with the rooms use and just the size of it. ​

Noemie stopped with the rest of her fellow students at the front of the room, where in front of them sat a sorting hat that she'd seen pictures of and the girl glanced up at the professor who would be doing the sorting, a woman she knew from reading up about the people of the school, and she had to greatly respect the woman who continued to manage a school even after her husband's brutal murder. The young girl however just focused on the professor and what she was saying rather than the information that Noemie knew about her, she then let her eyes shift to the stool with the hat that came to life and began singing his song, she hadn't managed to find out why the sorting hat sang a song, none of the books that she'd read ever seemed to be able to tell her why, but she knew that it was important to pay attention to the hat and what it was singing. Though the girl tried her hardest to pay attention to what the hat was saying she couldn't focus on what the hat was saying at all, knowing that soon she'd be sorted, but that given her surname she was going to be one of the few left, had she had her father's name then she would've been on of the first but she wasn't and just had to applaud loudly for each of the people who went up before her and got sorted into one of the four houses, and the students slowly dwindled down. Each person pushing their way forward and sitting down on the stool, waiting a few moments and then managing to get sorted. Noemie didn't mind where she ended up, from what she'd read she knew she could suit any of them, and she just knew that no matter where she might end up, she'd be fine. Noemie brushed one side of her fringe away from her eyes and then looked about the small group still left, they'd just entered the names with T and she knew that she would be pretty close. The girl brushed her skirt down with her hands, and then,​

Noemie had to be pretty pleased that at the very least the woman didn't say her full name, the girl didn't have to push her way through the crowd in the slightest, since there were very few left and instead easily made her way up to the front and sat down on the stool, she knew to clear her head, and let the hat figure out what he needed without her thoughts interfering, she took a moment to look about the hall, and a little self consciously brushed her fringe behind her ears.​

PREVIOUS YEARS​

FIRST YEAR: Noemie spent the first year of her schooling keeping to herself. She made a few friends with some of the others in her year, but spent most of her time focused on her education. She joined a few clubs but didn't really involve herself all that much with any of it. She kept largely to herself.​

SECOND YEAR: After not getting as good grades as she had been hoping for Noemie spent even more time studying. She wanted to do better and so didn't spend as much time in clubs or at events and focused herself far more upon her studies.​

THIRD YEAR: Despite all the work she put in Noemie's grades did not improve and so she decided she would just start involving herself more in the school. She became better friends with others in her year, even forming an unofficial club where she and a few others read magazines and talked about girly things. She joined the ravenclaw quidditch team as a chaser and joined the hogwarts monthly team, writing horoscopes. She enjoyed this year far more, she was more active, spent more time with friends and just generally was happier. ​

FOURTH YEAR: Noemie worked hard during this year, making sure that professors could see how hard she was working on the off chance the position of prefect got offered to her. She wanted it, and so tried her best, only managing to pull EEs in her classes much to her disappoint. She enjoyed her role in quidditch, and enjoyed being a part of the monthly again. It's probably her favourite thing to do. She's been thinking about life post hogwarts but focused most of her year on getting good grades. ​

FIFTH YEAR: Much to her disappointed she didn't make prefect, but she countered that by knowing it would be good for her focus if she didn't have to worry about that. She knew she had to do well on her classes, she just wanted to do well in her classes. She needed to do well in her OWLs. She was very stressed most of the year, but in the monthly become co-editor. She is very happy with this position, since she decided that she wants to be a journalist when she leaves the school, which meant on taking on more classes but she's happy to do anything to help her towards her goal. She had a good year, despite her own stresses and worries. ​

After seven long years at the school, graduation was finally upon her. The part-veela was quite surprised by how it had practically crept up on her, though given that she’d been working on her NEWTs, the last few things in the monthly and getting things in order for her future career, actually graduating had just slipped her mind. Now it was here, the fact that her whole schooling was over was hitting her hard. She felt on the verge of tears for most of the day. The part veela had been looking forward to making her mark on the world, to making a difference to the world that she’d be entering but, she would dearly miss where she had spent seven years. Everything about the school had lived up to what she had expected. She hadn’t done as well educationally as she might’ve wanted, but she had achieved in other manners, she had been a part of the quidditch team, helped lead the Hogwarts Monthly, she had been a part of the organising team at Heta Omega. She had done plenty and she had spent time doing so many fun things that she would hold dear. There were so many dear memories to her. So many good things about this school that she would always hold on to. In this very hall, she had first met Asmodeus and they had start upon their path, but she loved and appreciated him so much, she had spent countless balls, celebrations and hours in this hall. Every single part of the school meant something different to her.​

Noemie looked towards Flavio and Amber as the approached the podium, she was proud of her friends. She was proud of all their year, everything they had done, achieved and worked for. The part-veela listened along to the two speeches given by the head boy and girl, she liked their words, they had been young when they’d joined and it was with the efforts of their professors that they were able to grow into what they all now were. They had achieved so highly in so many ways, collectively and individually. She was proud of everyone. Noemie clapped loudly for her two friends. She would miss seeing them and everyone else practically every day. They were always the sweetest people. There were few people in her year group that she didn’t like. The girl watched as the people in her year got their diplomas, though it felt near unreal that it was actually happening, and actually happening to them. They were graduating! Eventually Noemie’s name came around. She was one of the last of course and she crossed the stage proudly, taking her diploma and shaking the hand of the headmistress, muttering a small thanks as she did so. That was it, entirely. Her schooling was over. Noemie felt happy little tear prick her eyes. She couldn’t really believe that it was all over.​

BEST CLASS​

Her favourite class by far is divination. It was a class she picked latter in her schooling, and she's fallen in love with it. Not just because of how it ties into the work she does for the monthly but because it's one of the few classes she can really do. She was surprised by her O in the OWL, given how her other grades turned out and it has fast become the only class (aside from DADA) she has any faith in or hopes to do well in the NEWT for. ​

WORST CLASS​

Despite the E in arithmancy, noemie finds the class dull and long. She doesn't understand what the numbers have to do with anything. She needs the class for the future career, but she's certainly not happy about that fact. ​

It was what she always wanted to do, so she was very happy about it. She loves it a lot. It's everything that she's wanted and more.

She joined the Daily Prophet in 2050, starting first as an intern and then she became a full member after a year.
