This topic has been set up for correspondance between Melodie Lowe, Sia Riversend and Eliza Beth Stewart.

Melodie walked slowly to the owlery. She had recieved an OWL from Sia telling her to meet her at the owlery that morning as she had important news to tell. Melodie shook her head, she was reluctant to hear what Sia had to say. She really didn't need any more drama. She pushed Aiden and Lucas' stroller over to a far corner where she noticed Sia standing with another small girl around her age. She parked the stroller and coldly greeted Sia with a faint "Hello" Sia and her friend looked so excited, but Melodie just knew this was going to be bad.

"Well?" Melodie said harshley. She shouldn't have been so mean to Sia, but she was getting really sick of all the problems going on within the family. Only a year ago Melodie hadn't a family at all, not to mention all of the problems that came with one. Melodie felt so stupid, to think that she would have given anything to have a family all but a year ago. But now she wished she could just go back to her simple life without a family to worry about.

Melodie's expression must have come across much colder than she felt because she could see Sia looking at her strangely. The hustle and bustle of the owlery made Melodie feel quite uncomfortable. She was relieved when one of her babes began to cry, scooping him up from the cradle and holding him close to her chest she comforted him. Melodie shot a glance at Sia, waiting for an explanation of why she had apparrated here in the forst place. She didn't have all day to listen to her family's problems, she had her own to worry about right now.

Eliza Beth was apprehensive when Sia told her to come with her to the owlery. Having only a faint idea of why exactly she wanted her to come she trailed along nervously behind her friend. Arriving at the owlery she looked around confused about why Sia told her to go there. Casting a puzzled look at Sia she went and stood beside her friend quietly and looked at the floor.

When the door opened and a young women walked in and said 'hello' to Sia it made more sense to her. 'This must be Sia's sister' She thought. And then something clicked, Sia was going to tell her sister what they had discovered looking at her photos. Suddenly excited she looked up and bit back a grin.

Eliza Beth was shocked at Sia's sister's greeting and her smile drooped slightly 'What if she doesn't like me?' she thought and suddenly her head was swimming with doubts. Forcing the smile back on her face, her attention turned to the baby that began crying. She grinned, she loved little kids, with two younger sisters she had to. Watching Sia's sister comfort the baby she nudged Sia to get her to speak. She hated the slightly awkward silence between the three of them, and she looked at the floor again too shy to say something to break the silence.

Sia was deeply apprehensive to finally tell Melodie her exciting news. Meeting Eliza Beth, they shared a secret grin. Sia hoped desperately that Melodie would be as excited as she, but was disappointed as soon as she saw her sister's face. Melodie looked cold and distant, and vaguely harrassed. Now Sia wasn't so sure her news would be welcome after all.

"Hi!" Nevertheless, she responded enthusiastically to Melodie's greeting.
"This is Eliza Beth." Sia took a deep breath and disclosed what she had to say. "Melodie, I probably could have told you this by owl, but it seemed so important. Eliza Beth and I just found out that we're cousins! Another relative to add to the family tree." Sia didn't mention Eliza Beth's two younger sisters; by Melodie's face, she wouldn't appreciate knowing about them as well.

Sia was surprised that Melodie wasn't happy about her news. She remembered when they had met- Sia had been overjoyed to find out about her long lost sister. But now . . . Sia seemed to be gaining long lost relatives so fast it was truly confusing. She didn't know what to say anymore.

((Haha! 4 paragraphs! I think I'll try for 5 next time! Have fun replying guys! ))

Melodie rocked little Aiden back and forth, gently comforting him as his cries began to die down. Melodie placed him gingerly in the cradle next to his brother and smiled down on him. She knew how lucky she was to have two healthy, beautiful baby boys and she would always be grateful. As Melodie looked down on him smiling her ears pricked up as to what Sia was saying. Her eyes immediately left her babies and fixed on Sia's. "Unbelievable" she said, her tone growing very angrier by the minute. She felt her face begin to flush red and hot as Sia and Eliza Beth looked up at her.

Why did this family have so many more secrts none of them knew? How many other long lost cousins and sisters did she have? It was ludacris. Melodie could barely keep track of the family she had now. Why had her grandmother never told her any of this? If it was to protect her, Melodie surely didn't appreciate it. Her eyes were ablaze as she stared dumbly at her supposed sister and cousin. She didn't want to believe it all. She felt her hands grip tighter around the handle to the stroller, her fingers turning a brighter shade of white.

Melodie tried to calm herself down and talk it all out resonably. But she just couldn't. How many other members of her family had been lied to? Left off the supposed family tree? She took a deep breath in, trying to calm herself down. Her fingers wound themselves around the handle even tighter. She felt as though she was going to burst. All she could think of to say was "Do mother and father know?" directed at Sia, the question was really all she could think of to say. Melodie didn't want to be the one to go to her parents and ask about it. She didn't want to even see her parents ever again.

She began to nervously push the pram backwards and forwards, her feet unable to stay still, her arms stuck in an inevitable roundabout of back and forth. Her face grew hotter and hotter by the minute. She saw Eliza Beth looking worridly at her, obviously thinking she was some kind of freak. If that naiive girl had any idea what she was going through maybe she wouldn't be so happy about all of this. Melodie was so mentally unstable right now, nobody in their right mind would want to discover they were related to her.

((haha nice I'll try and match you!))

Eliza Beth watched as Melodie calmed one of her babies down and couldn't help but smile as Melodie smiled down on her sons.
She listened quietly as Sia explained to Melodie about what they had found out and blushed a shade sort of crimson when Melodie looked up angrily. Nervously bitting her lip she took a step back, closer to the wall. She could easily see that Melodie was angry, whether at her or Sia she couldn't tell. She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself. Willing herself not to cry in front of Sia's sister.

Eliza Beth was sure that Melodie didn't like and found herself thinking 'When I finally find a family, they don't like me." Quickly pushing the thought away she heard Melodie say "Unbelievable" looking down she wiped a tear away from her face. "I'm never going to be wanted" she thought sadly. Looking back up she watched as Melodie gripped the stroller harder. Twisting her hands in knots she tried to calm down. She could plainly see Melodie was trying to calm down as well as she tried to give her a small smile, but it looked more like a pained grimace.

She looked at Sia when Melodie asked "Do mother and father know?" this was a question Eliza Beth herself also wanted to know. Seeing movement out of the corner of her eye she looked over to see Melodie pushing the pram back and forth. Her eyes followed her worridly hoping she wasn't going to do anything irrational.

Stepping forward slightly she was trying to think of something to say to try and comfort Melodie but upon opening her mouth nothing came out but a quiet croak. She was even to shy to speak to her cousin. Stepping back again she blushed bright red. Sighing she mentally beat herself up she went back to watching Melodie pacing.

Thinking hard she realised she had always wanted to know what happened to the rest of her family that mysteriously disappeared just before her parents had died. A sure of anger surged through her and she clenched her fists. 'Where had they gone when me and my sisters needed them most?' she thought her face growing hot. Looking down she glared at her feet and waited for some one to say something.

Sia was disturbed by how high emotions were suddenly running in this room. Melodie's rage astounded and discombobulated her. And now Eliza Beth was getting angry too . . . was Sia the only one to be happy at their rapidly expanding family tree? It was worrying, and confusing, and Sia was scared by her sister's face, and that constant, barely controlled rocking of the pram.

"Mum and dad? I don't actually know. I'm presuming they know, but I haven't actually seen them in ages." Sia paused for a moment as she considered this. Perhaps her parents could answer some of those questions that she and Eliza Beth hadn't managed to piece together. Maybe they would know what was going on. Sia clung desperately to that comforting thought, as the burning silence became steadily more intense.

"We should ask them. They might be able to sort some of this out. Can I see the babies? Oh, Melodie, they're beautiful!" knowing how pitiful her attempt at changing the subject had been, Sia turned a delicate shade of red.

Why do I always mess everything up? Melodie and Eliza Beth were getting steadily more upset, and Sia could sense that someone's temper was going to blow very soon. She had wanted this to be a happy occasion! Why did everything always have to go wrong? Sia too was becoming more and more distressed. She felt helpless, caught up in a tide of emotions she couldn't understand, would never understand. Sia had never been an orphan, she had no idea how it felt to be abandoned, and then found again, but she so desperately wanted her rapidly extending family to be happy, as it seemed they never could be.

Caught up in this whirlwind, Sia slumped against the owlery wall, as the first gentle tear trickled down her own cheek. She didn't bother to wipe it away, so it left a delicate trail. Everything had gone wrong . . . again.

((ha! I managed it too . . . ish. Maybe a couple of those didn't quite count as paragraphs, but it was emotional as anything Bitty could write!))

((Ha! 6 very big paragraphs! Don't worry you don't have to make yours that big :p ))

Melodie's grip lessened on the pram as she saw Eliza Beth staring down at the ground. Her face was still red as Melodie's eyes began to blaze. She decided not to be too cruel to her new cousin, it wasn't her fault she had to be part of this horrible famlily. Melodie only had two people to blame for this, to blame for hurting the three girls standing in the owlery. Her parents. She wondered if she could even call them that. After all they had put her through, did they even deserve the time of day? She gritted her teeth, trying to stop herself from yelling out in anger.

She looked over as Sia began to speak. So Sia's parents hadn't been the ones to break it to them that they had more people to add to the vast family tree. This angered Melodie more, just knowing that her parents had more secrets that they were trying to keep from her was enough to drive her crazy. Her fists clenched by her side, Melodie began to turn from red to pink, then from pink to white. As Sia went on Melodie's face grew whiter and whiter. 'Can I see the babies?' Sia said, but before Melodie got a chance, Sia was looking over her boys, playing with them delicately.

Melodie wanted to reach out and take the babies from Sia's grasp, Sia had caused Melodie so much grief. But it wasnt Sia's fault. And besides, Melodie seemed to have lost all control over her body. She just stood there, barely blinking. Her fists began to unravel, much to her disgust and against her control. She tried to breathe, but it was becoming increasingly harder, and her skin was now as white as a sheet. She took long, deep breaths trying to stabilize herself.

Her heart began to beat faster and faster and she could scarsely see the two girls standing before her. Her eyes were so blurry. She couldn't quite understand what was happening to her. She felt so light. Her mind had stopped worrying about the matter at hand, it was more important it worried about keeping itself breathing. Melodie could just make out Sia and Eliza Beth looking over at her, worringly. She could hear their muffled words, but not make out what they were saying. Her pale hand reached out desperately for something to cling to but failed, returnig itself to the side of her body.

Before she knew it her body was slowly drawing itself to the ground. But Melodie didn't mind one bit. She felt weightless, and as she closed her eyes she forgot all of her problems. She didn't think about her parents, Sia or Eliza Beth. She didn't even think of Aiden and Lucas as her frail frame fell to the cold floor of the owlery. Her coat ever so slightly broke her fall as her body lay limp on the floor in a pile of clothing and the contents of her handbag.

Several minutes later Melodie's eyes began to open, the people bending over her body all but a blur to her. She heard the muffled cries of her babies as Sia tried to comfort them. Her hair was strewn across the floorboards above her body which lay in a heap before her eyes. She tried to speak but her mouth felt so dry and hoarse. She couldn't fully remember what had gone down or why she was laying on the uncomfortable ground or why her stomach was grumbling and she felt so cold. When was the last time she had eaten anything actually? She began to think as she lay there, her eyes staring up at the ceiling as people crowded around her.

Eliza Beth still red looked up. She was calmer but still pondering the many questions she so desperatly wanted answers to. She watched as Sia stared to cry and automaticly felt so ashamed of how she was acting. Turning to Sia she gave her a small hug, "I'm sorry" she whispered. Looking around at Melodie she took a deep breath and stepped forward, "um...um...sorry?" she said meekly not really knowing what to say to her cousin.

Steeping back again she listened as Sia spoke and sighed 'so no one really knows who I am...' she thought sadly, 'I'm still a nobody' biting her lip she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She heard Sia start talking about the babies. Opening her eyes again she peered over Sia shoulder at the two angelic babies in the stroller.

Looking up at Melodie and noticed that she was getting whiter and whiter. Her eyes filled with alarm, her heart beat speed up. She hardly knew the girl in front of her but she was family now and she was concerened about her.
Breathing deeply she stepped slowly towards the girl past the pram she stopped in front of her. "Are..you...ok?" she asked, when she didn't get a response she knew something was wrong. She was looking like her younger sister Emmaline before she fainted "Melodie?!" she asked her voice rising.

She saw as Melodie stretched her hand out, Eliza Beth willed her self to take her hand but she was frozen, she could do nothing, just looking up at Melodie in alarm. She saw Melodie start to sink to the ground and before she could catch her she fell to the ground.

Gasping she knelt down beside her and very delicately lifted her pale eye lid she looked at her eyes, looking up at Sia she gave a small smile "She's just fainted...My sister Emmaline does that all the time...Hey can you check if there's a bottle for the babies any where... we can use the milk to wake her up..." she picked up Melodie's limp wrist and held the pulse, as Sia rumaged around for a bottle.
Eliza Beth sighed as Sia produced a bottle. Taking the bottle she unscrewed the lid "Sorry Melodie" she whispered and poured a little of the milk on her forehead.

Eliza Beth was still at Melodie's side holding her wrist as she came to. Sighing she let go of her wrist and set it gently on the ground. Still concerned she felt Melodie's forehead, "Does it hurt any where?" she asked. She heard the babies begin to cry and Sia trying to calm them. Dissmissing the thought she still looked intently at her, as more people crowded around her, "You fainted." she stated "When did you last eat?" she asked. She hesitently brushed Melodie's damp hair away from her face, not wanting to anger Melodie any more.

Picking up the half empty milk bottle she held it up in front of Melodie "are...you thirsty...?" she asked "...un-unfortunatly we only have milk..." she added blusing.

((ha ha 7 paragraphs...it was longer but some of them didn't count :p ))

Sia stood still, stunned and not really registering her surroundings. Everything was a blur, and as Melodie fel to the ground Sia felt that she wanted to faint too. Shame I can't do it on purpose . . . Sia gazed down absently at her sister's white face . . . so white . . . surely that wasn't healthy.

She was aware of Eliza Beth trying to wake her sister, but with Melodie in this state did they really want her awake? Sia pondered this, and came to the conclusion that she and Eliza Beth should probably let Melodie sleep for a while, and get a little calmer. She had really taken the news the wrong way, and turned it all into some kind of nightmare. Of course, it was typical that before Sia could voice these thoughts, Melodie was coming round again.

Finally, Sia moved, and went to help Eliza Beth. Together they heaved Melodie into a sitting position, gently and carefully. Melodie looked lost and confused, as she would. Eliza Beth was offering her a drink, and Sia didn't know what else she could do to help. She had never had any experience of people fainting before. Sia cringed inwardly as Eliza Beth mentioned her sister; this wasn't a good time to tell Melodie about the two of them as well. Fortunately, Sia's sister seemed in no condition to register the fact. Sia frowned. She would never wish fainting on anyone, so why had she called it fortunate? She felt so confused.

((sorry ppl. Only 3 paragraphs. I know I'm letting you down.))
