Alyssa's fourth year at Hogwarts had come and went for her faster than a strike of lightening hitting the ground during a violent thunderstorm. She was going to be a fifth year soon and honestly she felt a but shaken up by it, the seven years she was supposed to spend at Hogwarts just seemed to fly by without any recognition that she wanted it to slow down a little. Alyssa knew that she from this point on she was going to have to fix her behavior a bit and start acting more like a grown up, soon she would have to think of her future and what she wanted to do with it which was a little scary but something that had to be done. However, after she received an message from her boyfriend Leo that he wanted to meet her in Brightstone, all of her thoughts had gone away and became focused on trying to go out and have a good time before school started once again.

Alyssa decided to wear an edgy cute Outfit today, it was a rare occasion for her to wear jeans or something that didn't involve frills or something, but she was in the mood to be a bit different today. As she stopped herself by the usual building and brought a pale hand up to tuck some of her straightened blond locks behind her hair, Alyssa wondered why Leo had really wanted her to come out with him today. Not that she minded greatly, the only problem she had at all with ever being out with him was that she constantly thought of another and that made her feel disloyal. 'Maybe I should tell him...' Her bright crystal blue eyes scanned the streets carefully for a sign of him, for some reason she felt a bit out of sorts today and it was making her curious, why was she doubting her decision to date him now instead of when she had first started to date him, maybe she missed Vincent or being single more than she had thought.

Leo had been dreading this day for a few weeks now, ever since he had planned it - but he knew it had to be done. It wasn't fair on him and it definately wasn't fair on Alyssa, she deserved better that him somewho actually liked her for her and not her looks. Leo had never felt right about liking girls for their looks and it had never happened before; until he met Alyssa. Walking through Brightstone he started to look out for his girlfriend, but he kept his eyes to the ground incase he did see her for he always had the fear of forgetting his plan and backing out of it. With his hands stuffed in his pockets he let out a sigh as he looked up and saw her standing at their usual meeting place. Forcing a smile on his face he kept his mind focused, as hard as it was, and walked up to her. "Hello!" he said trying to make his voice sound as happy as possible. "I'm glad you could make it!" he said, partically telling the truth. He refrined from his usual peck on the check or embrace, except he went for an awkward stance in front of her, his hands still in his pocket and his feet shuffling from side-to-side.

Alyssa lifted her gaze slightly and gracefully when she heard the familiar voice of her boyfriend, only this time his voice sounded a bit different than usual. Not by enough to make it completely noticeable, but enough for her to look at him with a raised eyebrow quickly before she cast a small pretty smile onto her lips. "Hey, I'm glad I could too." She spoke softly, her French accent making the words come out even more beautifully as the smile continued to stay formed on her mouth. Sure Leo never made her heart skip beats like Vincent had, but he was cute and at least treated her kind enough for her to care about him. Shifting away from the wall she gave him an odd look with her crystal blue eyes as she realized that for the first time since they had been dating he didn't bother to embrace or even kiss her cheek, in fact he looked awkward and unhappy just being next to her at the moment. Alyssa knew at that moment that something was very wrong with him, and it made the pretty smile from her face fade within seconds.

"Is something wrong?" She asked gently, almost wondering why he even bothered to come see her today if something was wrong with him. Alyssa stepped in front of him, her 5"9 height made it easy to see him, but for some reason he didn't want to seem to look at her all that much. "Come on seriously, whats up?" Her voice lost a little of it's softness and took on a more stern tone because she was getting more and more nervous that this had to do something with her. Had Alyssa done something wrong to make him upset, or was this completely unrelated to her?

Leo continued to try and keep eye contact with Alyssa to a minimum, he knew having to look into those big blue eyes would throw him off trck completely and that's not what he wanted to happen at all. He had to take a deep breath to help him focus as she talked, even her voice was luring, Why am I only realising this now? he wondered to himself, angry that he had spent all this time thinking about her, for all the wrong reasons. He nodded his head lightly to her, he was still trying to work the words around in his head. Leo dared a look up to her face for a moment, How the hell did I ever make it into Gryffindor? he scowled himself, he couldn't even break up with a girl 2 years younger than him, there was definitely something wrong with him.

When he did look up he could see that she wasn't smiling as per usual, Damn it! he thought to himself as he heard her question. He shook his head, "There's nothing wrong!" He said, unsure how to put it. "Look Alyssa. I like you, I really do...but...I've been thinking..." he broke mid sentence. Leo was now sure that she knew what was coming but he continued. Now he had started he was going to finish it. "Alyssa I don't think this....us is working out! I think we should break up." he said, feeling so much better that he had finally said what he had come to say, but the worst was yet to come.

There was something definitely wrong with Leo today, his behavior was just not normal for how he usually acted when he was around her. Alyssa found extremely odd how Leo was not only avoiding to look at her especially in the eyes, but interact with her all together, it actually sort of hurt her feelings to have him act like this to her. But then those retched words pretty much flew out of his mouth and her body froze as if she was just told that her life was coming immediate end, Leo suddenly wanted to break up with her? "What?!" Was the only words that came out of her mouth as she tried to organize her thoughts and calm herself down before she smacked him straight across the face for even thinking of saying such a thing to her. But instead of getting angry and smacking him like she wanted, her eyes began to fill up with tears like a pool of fresh water. And without warning the tears began to fall as a light sob took over her body, her heart was crushed and she was fully embarrassed right now.

"H-how can you say you like me if your freaking dumping me?!" Alyssa huffed through her sniffles and tears as she brought her hand up to wipe at her eyes, what had she done to make him think that it wasn't working between them? Was it the way she dressed, talked, or was it the way she spoke...it had to be something that she had done to make him hate her. "W-what did I d-do?!" She hiccuped and wiped at her eyes again, the years were still falling and she was pretty sure she was talking and crying loud enough for the people on the street to hear her easily, some of them even stared at her as they walked by. Alyssa felt heartbroken and like she wanted to crawl into a hole and bury herself in it so the world couldn't see her breaking down like that. "I can't believe your doing this to me!" Her hands went up to her face as she tried to control the tears, everyone was looking at them and she didn't want to make a scene for him anymore than there already was, even if he was being a jerk right now.

Amauri and Vincent managed to move to New Zealand yet Vincent would still be attending Beauxbatons for his last year. That was a good thing. Vincent was bundled up in a think blue jacket and blue jeans. He had a bit of a goatee which looked devastating on him, so the girls says at Beauxbatons. Xavier had told him recently that his crush of a few years was dating someone. Wasn't it obvious that he liked her? He waited for her? And she had to pull this stunt and choose someone over him? Vincent didn't like that at all. It was more like betrayal than anything. Vincent was completely and utterly hurt inside, and wanted nothing more but to forget that little Veela girl that crossed his path.

The seventh year walked down Brightstone Village with a cappuccino in his hand. He took a sip of it. His vivid blue eyes gazed down the street, but something he heard caused him to stop. His eyes turning, he saw the very girl he was trying to forget about crying and yelling, and a boy looking like he was failing at calming her down. Vincent raised an eyebrow and he rolled his eyes. To go over there, or to not go over there. Vincent sighed and he took a hefty gulp of his drink. Slowly, Vincent approached the group and he inquired in a raised voice smothered in his French accent, "Is there a problem here?" Vincent was staring at the boy, rather than Alyssa. He just could not bare to look at the girl that basically betrayed him. Vincent failed to show any emotion in his vivid blue eyes.

Leo cringed when he heard Alyssa start to cry and complain about him breaking up with her. He was expecting it, obviously, but when it happened it was so much more worse than he could have imagined. He listened to her whines and by now had completely looked away from her and was tempted to just leave her to her tears. There was nothing he could say to her to calm her down so what was the point of him trying to comfort her. As he was about to just leave the scene with a final goodbye he saw a boy approach the ex-couple. Oh great another french snob! he thought with a roll of his eyes. "None of your business mate." he said as he shoved past the newcomer. "Alyssa it's been great, but things just didn't work out. Sorry!" he said with whatever sympathy he could muster up to her. Despite the fact that he was the one doing the breaking up he did feel bad for her and leaving her the way she was, but he really couldn't handle emotional girls right now. He had just graduated for crying out loud, he was time he started celebrating.

Things had decided to take a turn for the worse when Vincent showed up behind them and questioned if there was problem going on. Cheeks turning read she now felt like she wanted to fall over and cry again, this time from hurt and embarrassment because not only was she just dumped but the actual object of her affections decided to show up looking as good as ever. "No there's no problem...just Leo being a jerk." She sniffed and turned her head away snottily, even if she was angry she was failing at being angry for long because soon a few more tears fell down her cheek and she began to cry again. Alyssa seriously wanted to smack Leo for talking to Vincent like that, but the words he said right after cause her heart to lurch painfully. "Fine whatever. Get away from me." She huffed to Leo as she watched him walk away with tears pooling up in her big crystal blue eyes, even if she had always liked Vincent more she still thought Leo was better than that, to not do this to her. 'He only liked me because I was Veela...thats the only reason why anyone likes me.' Was the bitter words that rang through her head as she tried to keep herself calm and down break down right in front Vincent because she didn't want make it seem like she was a baby or anything. Her feelings were just hurt beyond all measure.

As soon as Leo was out of sigh, Alyssa dropped her purse on the ground with a frustrated sigh and brought her hand up to wipe at her eyes, even if the tears still continued to fall like a waterfall. Turning to finally face Vincent she almost squeaked out loud when she saw that his eyes showed no emotion, it was frightening. "Sorry you had to see that Vincent, I just...I didn't like him all that much anyways." She sniffled again and rubbed at her eyes once more, just looking at him she was suddenly reminded of what a horrible person she had been to him, she liked him but let that thought fade away when she was told that he didn't like her in that way. "Wh-what are you doing in Brightstone anyways?" She asked raising an eyebrow and looking up at him, he was so much taller now compared to her and so bloody handsome that it was unfair, it was like he was personally trying to make her feel bad about making the wrong decision.

Vincent did not appreciate the shove that the boy had, or how much of a prick he sounded. Shaking his head, Vincent took out his wand and he cast a Bat-Bogey hex after the boy. Vincent made sure that the wand was in sight now, in case the boy tried anything. Vincent was raised to be an Auror, so he would be signing up soon. Vincent turned to Alyssa and he shrugged. "It's always nice that you don't seem to like boys all that much. It did seem like you liked him an awful lot to be crying like that." Vincent showed her the cappuccino and he took another drink of it. He basically told her that he had come for a drink, and he started to walk the in the direction of which he was going again. Why should he bother with someone with blue eyes, gorgeous blue eyes, when she had hurt him so much, chosen a prick over him? Vincent stared at the sidewalk as he walked from her.

Alyssa's large crystal blue eyes widened a little when she saw Vincent quickly cast the Bat-Bogey hex in Leo's direction, at the moment she didn't feel worry for him at all but instead felt he deserved every little spell that anyone decided to toss his way. Sighing softly she noticed that for once he didn't seem very happy to talk to her and wondered if something was bothering him as well, Vincent was the last person she wanted angry with her at the moment because she simply adored him with every fiber of her being. Staring at the cappuccino she decided that later on she could splurge on one later, even if she was on a diet...a rough day always called for a good iced coffee. When Vincent walked away she gasped quickly and ran off after him, only stopping until she was walking beside him, she wasn't about to let him get away that quickly on her. "I do like boys, just not ones that upset me like he did. And I didn't like him, I only cried because I realized he only liked me because I was Part-Veela." Alyssa's voice cracked a little as she thought about how she was sure that Leo wasn't the only one who merely liked her becaus she was beautiful and luring to others. Trying to keep up with him she wanted to see if he was alright, because he didn't seem okay.

"Are you okay Vincent, you act like something's bothering you?" Alyssa asked stepping in front of him to stop him from going anywhere, of course he could just step around her but she considered him a friend, and a crush so she wasn't going to let whatever was bothering him just slip by her, she wanted to make it up to him. "Please don't tell me your going to act like a jerk to me too." She looked up at him with her puppy dog like blue eyes as she started to feel like he was upset with her as well, how much she just wanted to hug him and pinch his handsome looking cheeks right now. But she wouldn't just for the simple fact that she hadn't seen him pretty much since last winter break, he looked so grown up now.

"If you didn't like him, why the hell did you date him?" Vincent was more than confused now, but he was getting a little flustered that she was just going to keep stopping him from walking away. Couldn't the girl take a hint? Vincent was a little tired. He took a sip of his drink once more, before he licked his lips and he shrugged at her question. Why should he tell her what's bothering him? It was highly obvious. To Vincent that is. "You are seriously asking me this? Think Alyssa think. Just what would be bothering me? Even Xavier knows," Vincent smiled falsely, and he poked Alyssa in the forehead. "You have brains. So use them." Vincent glanced around and he ran his fingers through his hair. He sighed and he put his arm at his side. "Honestly, what do you want from me, Alyssa?" Vincent stared down at her, remote calmness in his eyes. He was going to be late getting home. He could always apparate, but like his dad, he preferred to walk.

Crossing her arms, Alyssa stuck out her lower lip and huffed, he was being remotely difficult to her right now and she was starting to wonder if she should just leave him alone if he was going to give her problems when she was trying to be friendly and see if he was alright and such. "I dated him because....the person I wanted didn't want me back." She huffed out after a moment, she didn't like that she had to admit she was pretty much going shallow and being a brat about the whole situation but when Xavier had told her that Vincent was interested in some girl that wasn't her she flipped and ended up pulling some dumb decision like this, and now look at her!

"All I know is, you've been upset and mopey about some girl...thats all Xavier bothered to tell me." Alyssa crossed her arms over her chest as she stared up at him, when he poked her forehead she flinched slightly but almost turned a light shade of red at the contact that she hadn't remembered feeling in such a long time from him. "I want you to talk to me, be my friend, tell me whats up with you and stop being so mopey okay...just stop acting like that." She put her hand son her hips and gave him a soft look that still held a sense of of calmness and heart in it. Alyssa truly cared for him and she wanted him to stop acting like she was nothing but trash to him, it reminded her too much of how her father had been treating her and Theodore lately.

Vincent nodded and he muttered, "Wow, now I don't exactly blame him for dumping you. Kinda makes you look like the bad girl." Vincent tried not to be around those types of people. Vincent finished his drink and he sighed. He tossed it into a trash bin close by. Vincent wasn't hiding that he was hurt, but he no longer cared. If she wanted him, she would have to work for it. Vincent was not going to be a rebound. He would not stoop to someone that low. No, if he were to be in a relationship, it would have to be serious. Vincent was a hard man to get. Vincent missed his cappuccino and he wanted another. He might stop by into another store and get another drink on the walk home.

"That girl, yes I was upset. Still am. Turns out, that girl is you. I wanted to be friends, more than friends, and I honestly don't know now. You chose that older boy over me. Seriously, that was a low blow. Perhaps we should just stick to letters for a while, shouldn't we?" Vincent shrugged once more, but after the words were said, he couldn't take them back and revealing that she was the one that hurt him was evident in his eyes. "I have to leave though. Dad will kill me if I am late on the walk home. By the way, I live in New Zealand now, but not transferring schools. I'll catch you around." Vincent walked past her, his head held at a reasonable level, and he walked down the street, on the way to the Chevalier household. Vincent figured that if he heard Alyssa running after him, he would just apparate to his home. It wasn't a huge distance so that was the plan.

Vincent's comment about Alyssa being the bad girl made her blood boil for some reason, everyone just seemed to dub her like that because of her family history, blood, or just general actions, never did they bother to get to the real Alyssa that everyone seems to forget could even exist. "Wait! I'll explain it's my fault to your father if your late, just stay and me out....please?" Alyssa pleaded with him but wasn't going to run after him time because if he was just going to keep walking it wasn't worth it. It was rare when Alyssa pleaded to anyone so the fact that she was openly begging him to stay shocked even her. Her crystal blue eyes began to pool up again with unshed tears, she was constantly losing everyone she cared about for reasons that barely made sense to her and she knew that if she didn't fight for Vincent he was going to leave her too. "I've lost my friends, most of my siblings, even my mom. And I don't want to lose you too." From what she knew Vincent had lost his mother too, and now she understood how hurtful and deep those kinds of wounds could be. Losing her mother to the dark is what drove her to want to become an Auror or a healer, someone who could help people when they needed help.

"Vincent, I liked you too, I still do actually." She admitted, pushing some of her straightened hair away from her face as a soft breeze blew by her. Alyssa wasn't afraid to admit it, but when her brothers mentioned that it was a girl from Beauxbatons and not her, she had flipped out and panicked completely. Alyssa had never been known to keep calm in stressful situations, usually she passed out or made the worst decisions, and this was full out proof. "If I had known do you seriously think I would have chosen him over you?" She asked softly, her French accent still came out beautifully even when she was stressed or clearly trying to hold in another sob that was wanting to come out. The whole time she spoke though, Alyssa pleaded to merlin that Vincent had enough compassion to listen to her words, to be unlike so many others she had tried to come through to. "I know I really hurt you and I'm so sorry, I don't except you to forgive me though...who could pity a half-breed anyways?" Alyssa's father reminded her of this every day, that she was scum before being something different. Now she felt so bad because he didn't even deserve to get treated like that, get treated like dirt because her own selfish reasons, and she didn't expect him to feel pity for her...just to understand that she was sorry.

Vincent turned around, stopping and he raised an eyebrow. "My dad is a strict Auror. But fine, I'll blame it on you even though it will still be my arse grounded." Vincent sighed when he heard about how much she had lost. Though he did feel for her, he still didn't want to go running to her and say 'I am so sorry for all this, and I want you back.' Vincent wasn't like that. He bottled things up and acted rationally. "I can't help that. You should have wrote to me so I could have helped you out sooner. You haven't lost me as a friend, Alyssa, and I will be there for you, just not right now. I can't... I don't know." Vincent's blue eyes were cast down on the sidewalk, and he shook his head. "I'm not going to be a rebound. I still like you, but I can't seem to well, go on from there. Time will tell if I will ever ask you to be mine, but you will have to prove it that it will not be a waste of my time, like before you got with that one boy." Vincent's eyes stared at Alyssa and he narrowed them, "Best not say things like that, dearest. Terms like that will often drive me further away as it just pisses me off to hear them." Vincent glanced in the direction of his house, subtle unspoken words that said that he would have to be heading back within the next three minutes.

Alyssa sighed softly as she lifted her hand to keep her hair from blowing into her eyes when the wind started back up again. Right now she was completely speechless about the whole situation, what could she say to him now that she knew she had officially lost her chance, obviously she had more misery to suffer before she became happy with her life. Even if he said he would still be there for her, he said not right now, and who knows how long that not right now thing could stand for, maybe months or years would pass and he would still find himself not willing to be there for her. "Yeah, I understand." Was the only thing she could really mutter without bursting into tears again, and Alyssa was fed up with crying and ruining her makeup over problems that she had brought upon herself. She felt so dumb for thinking that Vincent would accept her for pulling a stunt like this, could her father have been right about Veela's only being capable of being desired for lust instead of true feelings of love?

Knowing fully well that he still had to leave she knew that as soon as he left she would once again be left to wonder what she was supposed to do with her life now, and that scared her. When an idea of how to possibly fix it a little popped into her head, her hand went up to grip something around her neck before she pulled it off quickly and started towards Vincent, she knew her had to go so she wasn't going to waste his time. "My mom gave this to me before died, but I think you should take it." Alyssa grabbed Vincent's hand before she placed the Necklace in his hand and let hers fall back to her sides. She felt like he needed it more than her for some reason, especially when Alyssa still had yet to figure out why she had yet to cry over her mother. "I'm going to come back for that someday, we'll see if you feel differently then." Alyssa stated boldly, he didn't have to wear it or anything, but she wanted him to at least hang on to it for her. It was the only way she could tell him that she wasn't giving up on him just yet and that would be back around someday, whether he wanted to see her or not.

"I have to go as well, Maybe I'll write you or see you around sometime. Goodbye Vincent." With one last smile and small glance at him she turned and sighed to herself, all she had to was keep walking and not look back and she would be able to make it home without bawling again. As she walked home she secretly wished he would forgive her someday, and that maybe she could make it up to him eventually.

Vincent heard and now saw Alyssa coming toward him. She placed something in his hand, heard what she had to say, before he finally looked upon the heart pendant. Vincent wanted to say something, but an invisible hand held his throat. He couldn't say anything. Instead, he pocketed the necklace, with intentions of keeping it forever, at least, until she came to retrieve it. All Vincent needed was time to heal, and if she got someone else, then well, Vincent would just look elsewhere. Vincent gave her a smile before he too turned and left. Though while walking, he couldn't help but sneak another look, truly a sign that he still, really and truly, cared for Alyssa.
