While the idea of being prefect had been a shock to Bethany, she had quickly warmed up to the idea because she felt that she was destined for greatness. Though she had never considered herself one for rule following she did like the idea of being in a position of authority, given she recently decided her goal in life was to be the Minister of Magic. And that meant being able to be a leader. But Bee being who she was, had not exactly used those privileges in the way she was supposed to quite yet. She was still as playful as ever and wanted to play a prank on someone. There were lots of new first years roaming around the castle that did not yet have the moving staircases memorized or remember which steps were the trick ones to get your foot caught in it, so Bee wanted to have a little fun and see if she could lead them astray under the guise of her new position, which probably wasn't very nice but at least it wasn't anything harmful.

So. Many. Stairs. Seriously, why would anyone want to build a castle with this many staircases? If it was this exhausting, and took this long to get to wherever you needed to go, surely upgrading the stairs to escalators would be more than fine. Athena was well aware that perhaps some if not most people in the castle had no idea what escalators were, but still. It was 2044.

The girl huffed as she made it to the last stair - finally. She might have been exaggerating, but it sure didn't feel like it. Although she was almost on the bottom floor of the castle, it felt as if she just went sprinting. She barely noticed another, older figure as she caught herself before she could've tripped. Athena rolled her eyes, deciding that enough was enough. The first year plopped down on the stairs, not even caring that the entire staircase began to move. She wasn't going to go any further.

Bee had just finished hopping onto a staircase right before it began to move. She saw a first year sit down on one of the steps far lower below her as the staircase moved to wherever it was taking them next and noticed she looked disgruntled. Bee grinned mischievously and hopped down the stairs two at a time, deliberately skipping the one in which her foot could get caught, as she approached the first year. "First day?" she asked with a small chuckle. Bee plopped down beside the girl on the step and said, "Where were you headed?" She knew how easily it could be to get lost in this large castle, especially since the staircases seemed to have a mind of their own at times.
