The Hufflepuff felt rather well rested despite having spent time at home. HIs parents had seemingly figured the error to their ways with his brother was giving him too much independence so Aonghas had a lot less, there was no demand for him to get a job in New Zealand or to remain, his eldest sister picked him up from the station and they apparated together back home. There was little time for him to spend back in New Zealand, but it wasn’t unhelpful to him, he just needed to remain focused. He had antagonised his parents a few times, but it had only been to annoy them, when they’d frustrated him and he thought he was pushing it enough that he could make his annoyance about certain thing known without risking much. Aonghas had settled himself in the lounge, books scattered around him. He was looking to just spend a little time revising and reading before the beginning of the semester, before the classes really got underway, he liked the ambiance of the student lounge, mostly quiet but with enough going on that he wasn’t forced to stare blankly and quietly at the books in front of him. Giving him a level of peace but keeping the door open to relax with others if he really wanted to.

Sierra was incredibly excited to be back at Hogwarts. As much as she loved her family, being at Hogwarts was definitely her favorite place to be. She loved the absolute freedom she had, and the many students there were to bother when she got bored. It wasn't often that she did get bored - there was always so much to do at the school, and her boredom never stayed for long. Today was a day where Sierra was looking for something - anything to get her away from having to 'study' or do 'homework'. She never understood why they had to do homework, they had to do so much work in class anyway, why were they also trying to take up all her free time? So instead, she skipped around the school, looking for one of her friends.
The Gryffindor girl peered into the Student Lounge, and saw a face that looked familiar. Getting an idea, Sierra decided to creep up on the boy and give him a fright, but half way through her creeping, Sierra's foot decided to trip on nothing, and she tumbled down, landing on her back in front of the boy.

Aonghas was working away calmly until the boy was startled out of his half concentration with a girl who tripped up right in front of him. He wondered why she had been coming over to him, and what she could’ve possibly tripped up over to fall as she did right in front of him. Aonghas smiled a little with a curious expression. The hufflepuff got to his feet and then knelt down in front of her with his hand out, ”Are ye alright there?” the boy asked, it hadn’t looked to be that but he knew that still falling could be quite sore regardless. ”Ye kinda seemed tae fall fae nowhere?” the boy then added as he waited for some response from her. She was someone who he knew from his classes and had possibly once been introduced to but he wasn’t sure if he could remember her name very well. If anything they hadn’t interacted all that much so maybe he could be excused from this moment in not remembering who she was precisely. He had been studying but was welcoming the distraction that this girl was bringing him.

Sierra saw a face appear near her, as the boy offered his hand. She let out a giggle as she took it and sat up, letting out a small groan of pain. "It wasn't no where - there was this giant - thing - and it - and that chair - ! And then - yes okay, I fell on nothing." Sierra said, giving up on trying to come up with an excuse for her clumsiness. "Did you get a fright though? Like did I scare you at all? A random person suddenly flying past you must have been scary right?" Sierra asked, hoping that the boy maybe at least got a little bit scared at first when her shadow passed him to the ground. Then it wouldn't have all been for nothing! Sierra stood up, thinking for a moment. "Do I need to do it again?" She asked the boy, rubbing her back where it hurt.

Aonghas looked at where she seemed to gesturing towards but saw nothing that could’ve possibly tripped her up. He was pretty pleased when she then seemingly admitted that nothing had tripped her up. He looked back at her as she asked if she’d frightened him, and he frowned a little, so she’d been trying to scare him. ”Naw, ah mean, ye startled me, but that’s it,” Aonghas replied. He wondered why she’d been trying to scare him, was she just bored and looking for something to do. Would it have been better if he had been scared, he didn’t particularly want her to, it was mostly harmless but he still didn’t much care for it. ”Ah’d rather ye dinnae,” he added when she asked if she had to do it again, if she wanted to, he’d let her, but if she didn’t there wasn’t much more he could do about it. He’d just return to his seat and wait for her again. Though she’d probably have to wait for another day before she’d be able to actually scare him without him half expecting it. ”Are ye just goin’ aboot scaring folk or am ah just the lucky one?”

Sierra pouted slightly when the boy said that she only startled him. She didn't really know what the word meant, but it did mean that she hadn't scared him like she'd hoped to. It was slightly hard to understand what the boy was saying, but she gathered that he didn't want her to scare him, which she thought was probably fair enough, maybe not everyone enjoyed being scared. She took a seat on the floor near to where the boy was sitting as he asked if he was the lucky one. Sierra grinned. "You're the lucky one! Well, I haven't scared anyone else yet. Do you want to go try and scare someone with me?" She asked hopefully. She wasn't sure why it was now her mission to scare someone, but she just accepted it for what it was.

Aonghas gave a short smile when she told him he was the lucky one to get picked to be scared. He didn’t think he was that lucky if he was honest about it. Being startled or having someone try to scare them wasn’t the most fun which could be had. He didn’t think it would be that fun at all. Aonghas frowned a little when she invited him to go scare someone with her, ”Why would ah dae that?” the hufflepuff asked, ”Is it really any fun?” Aonghas asked, failing to see how startling anyone might be fun in the slightest. What if they were working on something, ink could get everywhere. Tea or coffee could go everywhere. The hufflepuff had to think that especially if they didn’t know the other person it would be a rather unkind gesture. If friends with the person that might be more fun, it couldn’t be if you didn’t know them.

Sierra paused, frowning when the boy asked if scaring people was any fun. Was it? She knew she had fun doing it, but he didn't really seem to keen to do it with her. Sierra shrugged her shoulders, feeling deflated. "I had fun..." Sierra said, trailing off before throwing herself into an arm chair, face furrowed in confusion and thought. She knew there was a word that explained the excitement she felt before jumping out at someone, the sneaking around part, adaline or something. "Why don't you try and scare me, and then you'll see if you have fun?" Sierra suggested, a smile growing on her face. She was a genius! He would do it and then see how fun it is!
