Immy woke up early and was dressed in seconds. She took paper, pen and an envelope and walked out of the dorm room, quietly so that she wouldn't wake anyone. Immy silently walked through the common room and down the stairs. She passed the Great hall and looked inside, it was too early for anyone to be up or breakfast to be ready. Immy wasn't bothered, she just continued outside.

It was a cold morning and Immy rubbed her bare arms, wishing she'd thought to wear a jumper. Immy was wearing a white t-shirt and dark blue jeans. Immy walked quicker so she'd be in the Owlery quicker and to some place of warmth. There was a light spring breeze on the air. It gave Immy small goosebumps. She walked up the many steps and finally walked inside the Owlery. She had to admit that it wasn't as cold as the outside but still cold. The noise in the room was quite quiet, most of the bird were asleep, some were making noise and others were flying in and out of the Owlery. Immy smiled at the sight. It felt very Hogwartsy. Immy walked to the side of the room, where a small window looked back out towards the school. Immy sat down on it's ledge and took out the latest she had received from her sister. This one had arrived by muggle post as Immy was yet to send a letter from hogwarts. It had taken a few weeks to get there but Immy was happy to have her sister's words in her hands. Immy opened the envelope and took out the letter inside. She smiled as she saw the familiar handwriting of a 6 year old girl Immy knew very well.
Dear Imo,

Should I call you Immy too now? Thank you thank you thank you thank you. The presents were lovely. I tried them on and everything. School is soooo much fun. I might be learning Welsh. I have made lots of firends. My firends are alot of fun. I wish I could bring them home. I know I'm not allowed, Imo. Don't get worried. I know the rules.
My teacher is called Mrs Tucker. I heard some of the older kids call her Mrs Sucker. Horrible, big kids are nasty. She is very nice to me. And she gave me a big star becuase I could read the book properly. I'm the smartest in my whole class. It is alot of fun. We played a lot of sports. I got hit with the ball. It hurt a lot, there was blood and everything. Mummy is never out of bed. Imo, I am a little worried. I do not know if she eat. I try. It's hard. Imo, who is school for you? Can you do lots of magic? Do you have your magic stick? I can not to see it. It'll be magical. Hahaha. I have to do homework. Teacher gives us loads.
Love you
Pixie Day.

Immy was smiling differently by the end of the letter. It was a smile that showed nothing but the love Immy felt for her sister. The one that only came when Immy was with her sister. She reread the words of her little sister several times before picking up her pen and paper and writing a reply. She was smiling at the many mistakes her little sister had made, it reminded her of back home and teaching her little sister to write and read.
Dear My little Pixie,

You call me whatever you want, call me Imo, Immy or Imogen. I'm very pleased you enjoyed the presents. I do hope they fit well. I'm sorry I couldn't be with you on your birthday. I would have loved to give you them myself. I'm glad your making lots of friends. Just remember to not bring them home. I trust you to remember. I will still worry, no matter what you do. I love you too much to not worry. You make sure you keep out of trouble, don't join in any dangerous games either. We can't have anyone call the house.

This school is amazing. I do not know much magic yet but I know a little. I can make my magic stick light up and then make the light disappear. I have made a broom fly up on to my hand. From what I here I can get small brooms for children. Would you like one? Everything here is so big. I have been sorted in Gryffindor, the house with the brave people. When you come here, I hope you are in the same house as me. But as you are the smartest person in you whole class, you might be in Ravenclaw. I have met a lot of really cool people. You'd love them and a few have younger sisters too. Hopefully you might meet them some day. I joined a club, it's the fashion and research group. All the people in it all look lovely and there is a boy in it. I do not know if I fit in, but as I always tell you, try! I bought a little Kitten, her name is Belarus. You'll see her when I come back home.

You make sure you do all your homework on time, stay out of trouble. Remember the rules. Don't worry about Mummy, she's eating. Don't talk to the big kids, don't play in dangerous sports. Write to me soon,
Love you more than anything,
Imogen Day.

Immy quickly read over her letter. She folded it neatly and placed it in an envelope. Immy wrote down the address on the front and then got one of the school owls, attached the letter to it's leg. Told it where to go and the let it fly away. Immy ran to the window the owl flew out of. She watched it as it gracefully flapped it's wings and flew into the distance. She was lost in thought, so lost that if someone was to walk in she wouldn't hear them.

Robert entered the owlery, and was disappointed to find his brother hadn't left anything for him to read. He sighed and walked back through, noticing a small girl. "Hi." he said, "I'm Robert by the way" he smiled. He might as well start trying to make new friends. "Am i interupting anything?" he asked, suddenly aware she was holding letters. He seemed to be good at that. "Sorry" he said, raising a hand and wandering off.

Immy turned when she heard a boy's voice. She turned to see a boy a little older than her, standing not far from her. She shook her head to his question but he seemed to be walking away. For a second Immy thought about just letting the boy leave and being on her own with her own thoughts, but Immy decided that wasn't a good idea. How was she suppose to make friends that way. Immy smiled to the boy.

"No, you're not." Immy called to the boy "I'm Immy by the way."

Robet turned on hearing he actually wasn't. "Oh, ok. Well i'm Griffindor Second Year. How about you?" he asked, tempted to put his hand out before finding it too formal and give shoving his hands in his pockets again. He leaned against the wall and watched her curiously.

Immy smiled politely to the boy. She noticed that he was about to put his hand out to her. Immy noted he hadn't given her his name. Immy just kept smiling politely at him. She looked at the boy, tilting her head ever so slightly like a curious child.

"First year, Gryffindor and loving it." Immy said "What brings you to the Owlery this early?"

Robert grinned to her. "Well, congratulations. It is the best" he agreed. "I'm just here" he gestured over to his now empty owl post, "to see if my brother sent me a letter about my parents" she cast it off casually not really wanting to go into detail. "How about you?" he asked.

Immy nodded, she noted that whatever it was he was waiting to here from his brother about was not something he wanted to talk about with someone he'd just met. Immy was fine that she wasn't going to start talking in detail about why she was there. Immy smiled brightly at the boy.

"I was writing a letter to my sister. She'd just written me one. I was replying." Immy said holding up the letter. "I didn't want to do it in the hall or anywhere, where there would be a lot of people. Too many people, too many questions" Immy smiled at the boy, she still didn't know the name of.

(check my prev posts. immy does know his name :p )

Robert nodded, "Yeah," then started to keep quiet again. She had just said there would be too many questions elsewhere. He was hardly helping with being here then. "I'll..i'll see you around the common room maybe" he have her a small nod before heading off this time in search of Larissa or Rhianne.

Oh, Sorry didn't see that

Immy smiled as the boy left. She looked back out the window of the Owlery where the owl had flown away from. The owl could no longer be seen. Immy sighed to herself and then walked out the Owlery, rubbing her bare arms as she walked back to the school.
