This afternoon had not gone exactly how Morrie had intended. If things had gone her way, that Felix kid would be cursed and probably off to the hospital wing by now, and she wouldn't be stuck with some older prefect on the way to see Professor Castillo. Or maybe she would be seeing Castillo ironically, that would have depended on witnesses in the first place. Still, it would have been worth it. Instead she had points taken for no good reason by a self important prefects trying to throw his weight around. Morrie didn't care about points but she did think a Slytherin prefect taking points from their own house was dumb and she was entitled to complain about the abuse of power to Professor Castillo if she wanted to.

They were now three floors down from the initial incident and getting closer to the dungeons. Morrie hadn’t said a single word the entire way and was walking fast to feel in control, "Keep up!" She finally said to him as they reached a busy stairwell which would soon take them down towards the dungeons.

@Mikael Nightray

Being a prefect was so... troublesome. Mikael had already known that. Which is why he had wanted to return the badge to Castillo when he got it, except his mother had gotten to it first. And then Elio helped in convincing him to keep it. Even the arguments he'd made in the Prefects' Meeting hadn't been enough for Castillo to take away his badge which was frankly annoying. And now he had to deal with Ayre of all people. A nutcase if he ever saw one. And he was Tiziano's brother. And a Nightray. And now he had to bring her down to Castillo instead of spending time with his boyfriend who was probably in the Library. He walked at his own leisurely pace, ignoring the pace that Ayre tried to set as they made their way down. He sighed as he looked at the busy stairwell from where he stood. Looks like some of the classes have just let out.

Eurydice was rushing out of the classroom. She'd already told Prim to go ahead since she had a couple of questions for Professor Moncrieffe regarding some reading material that she could use to prepare for class. It had been easier and more fun to study in the Library recently so she'd been making full use of it. It was probably very much abuse of power, but she was at least always sure that she had space to study in the Library since her brother had started working there. Instead of going to the library today though, she would instead be heading down to the Kitchens since it was her regular tea date with her friend and she always took care to be on time for that. She was now running a little late though so she'd had no choice but to cut through to one of the main stairwells near the classroom. Midway through coming down however, she realized she’d left something behind and had to turn back to come up the stairs instead of down. "Excuse me!" she said as she tried to start squeezing through the crowd.

Morrie slowed down her pace to navigate the busy stairwell. She hated when people didn’t get out of her way. It was basic human decency to just move when someone was trying to get past. But, of course, as far as she was concerned everyone at Hogwarts was out to annoy her today so they were doing it on purpose, especially the younger ones, the second years were the worst year group. They stood around looking completely oblivious to the fact that some people had places to be, Morrie didn't want to be wasting her time with this prefect either. But when Eurydice got in her way, it was less of an inconvenience and more an attack. “Yeah, excuse you,” Morrie snapped deliberately making the gap Eurydice was trying to squeeze through impossibly tight, "You're in my way."

Mikael didn’t like crowds and he didn’t even want to begin with navigating the busy stairwell. He was in no rush. Only Ayre was. Besides, the stairwell should slow down if he gave it a few more minutes. It would be better to wait than push his way through the growing crowd. And so he stepped aside and stood by the railing off to the side instead to watch the crowd as Ayre tried to push her way through. Between one moment and the next, Eurydice was their and Mikael’s eyes narrowed at the sight.

Eurydice had managed to squeeze through one or two students before she was solidly blocked by one Morrie Ayre. She would not have been able to stop herself from tensing up when she saw and heard the Slytherin girl, her wand making its way into her hand immediately. She’d learned from last time. Even in a busy stairwell like this, Eury would never trust Morrie to not throw a spell because she was most certifiably insane. “W-well if you would have let me pass through then this would have been over,” she said, false bravado fueled by Musical Chairs and the fact that there were people around them. Besides Morrie could also squeeze through, it wasn’t Eury’s fault the stairwell had been busy.

Teddy was passing the stairwell and not paying much attention to his surroundings on the way.

Morrie frowned, it seemed like Eurydice had been standing up to her ever since that Musical Chairs event, and she didn't like it, “If you wanted me to move then you could have just asked nicely. You didn't say please." she reminded her then waited for her to ask again.

“No,” Eurydice said, fist clenched around her wand. Tizi-nii was here in the school, she didn’t need to be scared of Morrie anymore. You move.”

Morrie was not impressed, she looked back at Mikael, "See the kind of sh!t I have to put up with?" She said, "Sort your sister out will you?"

Eurydice paled when she finally noticed Kael-nii. She hadn't really wanted for him to know about her... interactions with the insane girl, but perhaps it was a little too late now. Besides. Surely Morrie wouldn't be stupid enough to do anything with a prefect around.

Mikael watched the interaction closely and noted how Eurydice paled upon seeing him. They needed to talk. But first, he had to deal with whatever this was. "You blocked her way," he said, raising a brow at the Slytherin, entirely unimpressed. "Now I believe my sister told you to move lest we all be stuck here." If the insane girl thought he would be on her side and sort Eurydice out, then she lost more marbles than everyone thought.

"Urgh" Of course he's going to take her side, Morrie should have seen that coming. "No." She refused flatly and crossed her arms stubbornly.

Since the snake incident, Eurydice had had a sort of fear of Morrie. The slug incident and getting cornered in the clubroom hadn't helped matters. And while now, she didn't think she could stand to see another snake and not be frozen or tremble or possibly scream, the thing in front of her was nothing more than a petulant child of which her youngest siblings had better manners. She wouldn't have been able to keep the judgment off of her face. Pitiful. Still, Eury had already said her excuses when she tried to pass through. If Morrie wanted to continue being a b!tch about it, Eury was sure Mr. Dak would understand. And Kael-nii was on her side. She had nothing to fear here and now.

Mikael stared at the Slytherin blandly. "If you want to be a child about it," he said as he leaned on the banister, "I'm sure we have time for your tantrum." Eurydice hadn't done anything except try to squeeze between people and nothing had been wrong with that. Ayre had decided to deliberately block her way and refused to move. There was obviously something going on between the two, and if Mikael was right, then Ayre would have a number of things to answer for.

This was another stand off and Morrie didn't like how these kept happening. She didn't like the look that Eurydice was giving her either, it was the kind of look that made Morrie boil under the surface. "Fine, have it your way then." Morrie huffed, plowing into Eurydice as if she wasn't there to get past. If Eurydice fell or got hurt then it was her own fault for getting into this situation in the first place, Morrie was bigger after all.

Having a wand in her hand was no use to Eurydice if Morrie hadn't been planning to use magic in the first place. It was probably a good thing that the force of Morrie bumping into her didn't make her fall off the side of the banister, though it did make her lose her footing on the stairs and slip backward with a shriek.

Mikael had his wand out as soon as the words were out of Morrie's mouth and he quickly cast the Hover Charm on his sister. It would have been disastrous for Eurydice and any student behind her if she'd fallen. As it was, he carefully lowered her back on the steps, making sure she was steady on her feet before he even started to walk down the stairs to get to her and release the spell. He grabbed Eurydice by her wrist, "Are you hurt," he questioned her, barely managing to contain his seething. He could go to Castillo later, for now, he needed to make sure Eurydice was alright. And Ayre, even if she wasn't who had been targeting Eurydice, she would definitely pay for this little stunt. Later.

Watching Mikael coolly save Eurydice spoilt her fun and she felt a brief, unwelcome pang of jealousy, because there was never anyone to rescue Morrie. Not that she actually wanted anyone to rescue her. Obviously. The feeling passed as quickly as it came, and she scoffed, deciding they could have their weird sibling moment. Morrie had better things to do. She considered going ahead to Castillo, but ugh that wasn't better. That required a conversation and she was not in the mood. She didn't actually have a destination in mind, just anywhere but this stairwell.

Eurydice could feel her heart pounding in her chest; her palms felt clammy but at least she hadn't let go of her wand. That was important, right? She was a little pale and she felt like she wanted to cry as she looked at her brother's livid expression. She hadn't wanted him to see any of her interactions with Morrie and now he had. Even had to save her because she hadn't expected Morrie to actually do anything here. "No," she said softly though she did grab onto his robes before deciding to hug him instead, burying her face in his robes. She supposed she'd have to tell him everything now.

Once he was sure Eurydice was unhurt and had proceeded to bury her face within his robes, he turned towards where Ayre had been watching and called after her. "Fifteen points Ayre. For endangering other students," his tone brokered no argument. It wasn't just Eurydice that could have been hurt in her little stunt since this was a busy stairwell. And there were witnesses. It would be more suspicious if he didn't take points off of her for this when he'd taken points off for her calling the Gryffindor girl a pest. Still, she would be dealt with later. With that done and over with, he started to move him and Eury away from the stairwell - a hand on her back as he guided her away. The two of them needed to talk - after she had calmed down.
