Maxwell - pronounced MAKS-wel. It is of Old English origin, and its meaning is "Mack's stream", a place name. Mack was probably based on the name Magnus (Latin) meaning "great".
Jacob - pronounced JAY-kub. It is of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is "he who supplants". Biblical: the son of Isaac and Rebekah and twin brother of Esau.
Robinson - Son of Robbin or Robin. Also, derived from the Polish word rabin (rabbi). A common surname in both the UK and US.

Max has straight, dark brown hair. He used to keep it quite short, but he's let it grow out a little bit these days. Example 1.
Eyes:
What people usually notice first about Max is his eyes. They're an icy blue colour, and can look quite sharp at times, leading people to presume he's a harsh person, when really Max is a softie. Other times, his eyes reflect his personality perfectly, and they can look very cool and calm. Example 1 and 2.
Height:
When it comes to height, he's on the taller end of average. Not amazingly tall, but one of the tallest in his class.
Style:
Max doesn't really focus on clothes too much, but he does have quite good style. Usually he just wears a shirt and jeans with some sneakers, kind of 'casual cool'. Example 1 and 2.

Family:
Max has a fairly small, close-knit family, made up of his mom, dad, and little brother.
Joan (nee White) Robinson - Joan is Max's mother, a half blood witch born and raised in Salem, Masachusetts. When she was a young girl, she lost many family members (an aunt, an uncle, both grandparents, as well as both of her parents) during Voldemort's reign. Joan could have gone into an orphanage, but decided to stay at Salem Witches Institute, feeling she would be safer there. After her studies, Joan moved to Boston, Masachusetts, and became a private tutor for home-schooled witches and wizards. She met, fell in love, and married Andrew a few years later. After the birth of her first son Max, the couple moved to the magical suburbs of Boston, feeling that it would be a safer environment to raise a child than the city. She later took a job teaching potions at Salem Institute, deciding that it would be great to give back to the school that had helped her through hard times.
Despite Joan being parentless for most of her life, she has a very motherly personality. She is warm and loving, and tries to help her family and students in many ways. She can worry a lot, and is very good at cooking (hence the job teaching potions). Joan also loves music and dancing, and often sang her children to sleep when they were younger.
Andrew Robinson - Andrew is Max's father, a muggle born and raised in Seattle, Washington. *to be completed*
Adam Robinson - Max has one sibling, a younger brother called Adam. Adam is a very quiet eight-year-old boy. Although he usually keeps to himself when it comes to people his age, Adam looks up to his brother very much, to a point where he can seem like a cliched annoying younger sibling. Max understands what it's like to be lonely, so he tries to be nice and include his brother as much as he can. Adam has shown signs of behavioural problems, but no one knows for sure whether he's just being naughty or if there's more to it. Overall, he's a kind child, but comes across as sad. This is really just because he's shy, and feels misunderstood at times. After getting a magical camera for his birthday, Adam has carried it with him nearly everywhere. He's shown a lot of interest in photography and film, having already compiled quite a decent portfolio.
Other family members - Max has one living grandparent, Andrew's mother, Margaret Robinson. Margaret is a very eccentric old woman, and loves laughing and telling inappropriate jokes. She tends to do things that elderly people shouldn't do, like skydiving, waterskiing, and bellydancing. She loves her grandchildren, and often visits them or sends them presents. Like many mothers-in-law, she can be critical of Joan, and doesn't understand or like magic very much.
