She did well in Hogwarts Scotland, getting good grades. She was quite popular and had many friends. In her fourth year, she began dating one of her closest friends Taylor Bell. They dated all the way through Hogwarts, but broke up for about a year, when he left Hogwarts a year before her. Taylor was a muggle pilot, and they met again the year she left Hogwarts, and picked up where they left off.
Taylor often had to go away on flights, for long periods of time. One day Maia found a picture in their apartment, of him with a woman and a child. His wife and child. She called him and he came home. It turned out that Taylor had been married in the two years they were apart and had never told her.
Maia broke up with him, but kept it quiet as she didn't want to ruin his reputation. However Taylor kept trying to get her back. When she said no, he spread rumours that she had cheated on him, that she had stolen from him and that she was an alcoholic, with a drug problem. As Maia had kept quiet she would look like she was making everything up, if she told the truth now, after he had already ruined her life.
Maia and Taylor had mutual friends, whom he turned against her, and he lost her her muggle job, and ruined her reputation as an actress in England.
