It felt almost strange to be back in New Zealand. Sapphire had enjoyed her visit to the United States, but she would never admit that to Oliver. She had traveled back to Obsidian Harbor with him and had quickly been separated.

That was alright, she had some things to grab before they made it to the train. She paused in front of a shop window, looking in at an assortment of birds and cats and dogs. She briefly considered getting apet of her own, but she wasn't sure if it was the best idea.

She lingered in front of the shop a bit, debating the pros and cons in her mind.

Onyx had been shadowing Obsidian Harbour for two days now, nervous and impatient. Ever since running into the Olaf girl at the ice cream parlour and finding out his dead sister wasn't as dead as he'd thought. He couldn't get Sapphire out of his head, and even though he was slightly terrified by the idea of finding her he knew he wouldn't forgive himself if he didn't.

He slipped through the crowds like a shadow, his sapphire eyes alert for his twin. Onyx was about to surrender and go get something sweet when he spotted her.

She looked just like he had pictured her- but then again he couldn't have been that far off in picturing the female version of himself, could he?

He took a deep, steadying breath before coming up behind her. He bit his lip before slowly reaching out and tapping her shoulder. "Um... Sapphire?"

Sapphire tensed a bit when the unfamiliar voice said her name. She turned warily to see who on earth would know her, only to freeze completely. Standing there was a boy with raven hair and sapphire eyes... The same eyes she saw when she looked in the mirror.

She shook her head slowly. Calm down, you idiot. You aren't the only kid in the world with blue eyes and black hair.

"I'm sorry," she managed after a moment, "Do, uh, do I know you?"

Onyx nearly died when she spoke- her voice was softer than he expected, and he couldn't help but smile. "Uh, I know this might be, be a surprise, but, uh," he sighed and stood straighter, trying to impress her. "My name is Onyx Michaels. Uh, I... I'm your twin brother."

He smiled at her nervously, anxious for her reaction.

Sapphire blinked. Did he just say-? "Pfft, that's a good joke," she tried to pass it off with a laugh, but this kid, Onyx, he wasn't laughing. She smile faded. Something in her gut told her he wasn't lying, and for the first time in, well, ever, uncertainty and fear crossed her face.

She studied him a minute before raising her hand and slapping him across the face. His head turned with the force of her blow.

"Heh, heh," she managed nervously, "You're real." She faltered a second before slapping herself. "Ow! Heh," her eyes widened with panic and she backed up a few steps.

"I'm awake." She started to hyperventilate a bit and turned her head to search the crowd. "O-Oliver?" She half yelled, nervous and needing his unnerving optimism at the moment.

Onyx winced as Sapphire slapped him. He had expected her to freak out, sure. And apparently that meant she got a touch violent. He rubbed his face as she slapped herself, trying to let her work through it. It was when she stepped back and called for some guy named Oliver that Onyx's face lit up.

"Oliver? You mean that blond kid, with the dream blue eyes?" He grinned mischievously, putting a hand on his hip. He had heard a littler blond kid call a cute boy by that name a few minutes ago.

"Is he your boyfriend? You have good taste, Sapphire." He was trying to get a bit of a rise out of the girl, hoping to maybe calm her down. It sounded a little odd once he thought about it, but it was too late to go back now.

Sapphire's eyes snapped back to Onyx as he started saying how cute Oliver was. She got oddly jealous and stomped on her brothers foot, indignant. "Excuse you, he is NOT my boyfriend and YOU should go find your own ray of sunshine and leave mine alone, you, you," she sputtered a moment,

"You Adam Lambert wanna-be!"

Onyx kept the grin off his face and smirked instead at her jab. He flipped his hair and looked her right in those familiar sapphire eyes.

"That's rich, coming from an Amy Lee rip-off."

Sapphire crossed her arms across her chest and glared at the raven haired boy. "You don't honestly think I'm going to take that from some emo Justin Bieber, do you?" She snapped, both irritated and slightly amused.

Onyx snorted. Was that the best she could do?

"At least princess Bieber can brush her hair, you Burton movie extra." His eyes sparkled as he waited for her response. He hoped he'd be able to stump her and win the wordplay.

Sapphire snorted. "At least Burton knows how to properly apply eyeliner, you Hot Topic prop!" She put her hands on her hips and watched her brother warily. It was weird thinking this guy was her brother, but also kind of comforting.

Onyx smiled at her, somewhat impressed with how quickly she was responding to his jabs.

"At least people admire me from afar, you Bram Stoker Dracula!" He was stretching a bit now, but he wanted to win.

Sapphire rolled her eyes. He probably thought he was clever. "Better that than a twilight reject," she stuck her tongue out at the boy, not wanting to admit that with that kind of snark he had to be related.

Onyx grinned. He had to admit that she was clever. He reached a hand into his pocket. "Alright, alright, you win, Sapphire. Here. Truce?" He pulled a lollipop from his hoodie pocket and offered it to her, a shy smile on his face. "I have an awful sweet tooth. These are my favorite." He hoped that by giving her a bit of himself she might open up to him as well.

Sapphire couldn't help but smile softly when he admitted defeat. She liked winning, and he seemed like a good loser.

She studied the lollipop he offered her a moment before reaching into her own pocket warily. "I'll trade you, Onyx." She said softly, extending a sucker. "Just this once I'll take that flattened monstrosity." She smiled hesitantly at the boy, still a bit unsure but wanting to at least try to know him.

Onyx took the trade, unwrapping the sucker and popping it in his mouth. It pleased him to see his sister had the same sweet tooth he did. "I guess these inflated imposters aren't so bad either," he conceded.

He took out a pen and scribbled his address onto the cellophane wrapper before handing it back to Sapphire. "You're going back to Hogwarts, right? I'll be going next year but I'd really like to keep in touch with you. If that's okay?" He smiled hopefully at her.

Sapphire took the wrapper from Onyx and glanced at the address before putting it into her bag. "Well... Yeah, I think that would be okay. I'll write you once I get to school. Okay?" She held out her hand to shake on it.

Onyx couldn't help but smile like an idiot when she agreed to it. Sapphire held out her hand but he ignored it completely, stepping in to hug her tightly. "I can't believe you're really here," he whispered, wrapping his arms around her and burying his face in her shoulder.

Sapphire turned red when Onyx hugged her. She patted his back, wrinkling her nose a bit. "Oh-okay, what is this? Why are you- okay, yeah, you can let go now."

Onyx snuggled in closer, smiling happily. "It's called affection, Sapphire." He probably could let go, but he couldn't resist the temptation to tease his twin.

Sapph scrunched her nose and smiled softly, patting Onyx's back. It was nice, she had to admit. To herself, never to him. "Okay, okay, that's enough of that."

Onyx squeezed his sister one more time, not really wanting to leave. He didn't want to push his luck too far, though, so he pulled back and smiled at her. His normal smile was really more of a half grin, but she would learn eventually how to read him.

He backed away slowly, not breaking eye contact. "You make sure to write the second you get to school, okay?" He waved and turned, walking off slowly.

He met his twin sister today, there was no way that anything would ever top that.
