Twilight had settled over the small shopping village. The once giggling crowd of rowdy teens were slowly replaced by a more serious lot, those more interested in adult activities than merriment. Broad back perched against a wall, a cigarette smoking in his hand, Sumner Drage watched the stacked blonde close up shop, keys jingling from the keyring in her slender hand. Light grey eyes narrowed against the smoke as he took a drag, the tall pureblood lifted his chin arrogantly to anyone who chanced to see him in the mouth of the darkened alley way.
Cherry extinguished beneath his booted foot, he exhaled one last cloud of smoke and hummed deep within his chest. She wasn't what he would have gone for years ago. He'd had a thing for older women with dark hair and dark eyes, way out of his league. Then the hell kat he'd dated had cured him of the brunette variety. She'd literally chased him into the arms of her best friend. That fiery female he'd gone without for too long. Far far too long. She'd always been sassy but lately it seemed as though she wanted to establish her independence. Staying later at the shop, picking up more practices, taking on more responsiblity.
Sumner thought it time to show her he wasn't content to sit around and wait until practice season started for him. Or let her call all the shots. He wanted his wife and he wanted to keep her on her delicious painted toes. Which was why, as she passed the alley way without so much as a glance over at him, Sumner pounced.
Long, strong arms darted around Lily Drage, one hand covered her mouth and with a decadent laugh, Sumner pulled his petite blonde lover into the darkness with him.
