Emily had transferred back to Hogwarts New Zealand this year, after having spent a few years studying over at the original Hogwarts. Her first semester had been fairly quiet, and her second semester seemed to be starting out the same. She stood from her charms lesson, not noticing that she left her worn copy of the Vampire Chronicles on the desk as she slung her bag over her shoulder, walking from the room and out into the hall. She was thinking of dropping in on Minnie; it had been a long time since Emily had taken the time to really stop and talk to anyone. She hardly had a friendship in her life like her sister did with Vader, and she doubted she wanted whatever it was Apollo and her brother had, as she was pretty sure Apollo had stopped talking to her brother after the stunt he had pulled with Rose at the dance. She was lost in thought, waiting for the crowd to thin out a bit so she could move down to lunch without being knocked over.

Daintree had noticed that one of the ravenclaw girls who'd been out of the school was back. Her name escaped him for a moment, he knew it was something beginning with either an E or an H but it wasn't really coming back to him. Regardless as he packed up his things from charms, he noticed that she had left a book upon their desk. He had to admit he was reeling a little from the break up with Jenna, and the girl was pretty and new(ish) that he might be able to just speak to her and see how things went. The valentines dance was coming up and Dain was definitely not keen to go alone. He wracked his brain for her name as he took the book and headed out of the room. He didn't even have to look for her as she was only a little out of the room. He walked over and moved to stand in front of her, "hey you left your book in class," he said with as charming a smile as he could.

Emily blinked, looking up when a familiar boy appeared with her book. "Oh, thank you, um..." She wracked her brain, but couldn't seem to recall his name. She took her book, biting her lip a moment before shaking her head. "Sorry, I seem to have completely forgotten your name," She laughed lightly, her British accent very clear. It almost made her feel a bit off to be back in New Zealand with all of the kiwis, but she supposed that was a price she could pay to be with her family.

Daintree smiled as charmingly as he could at her, but was somewhat pleased that she didn't really remember his name and that made it easier for him since he didn't remember hers all that much. "It's Daintree," he gave a warm smile, "Whats yours?" he asked, he didn't feel nearly as bad for not knowing her name when she didn't know his. "You've been gone a bit, did you do a exchange with one of the other schools?" he asked, his expression was still kept as charming as he could.

Emily nodded. Daintree, right. She remembered him from her younger years. And she remembered having a bit of a crush on him when they were kids. She ignored that, too. "Emily. I did, I went to Hogwarts Scotland." She told him, tucking her hair behind her ear. She noticed the crowd in the hall thinning a bit. "Do you want to catch up over lunch?" She asked, gesturing towards the emptying hallway.

Daintree gave a little nod, "Emily suits you, it's pretty," he told her, with a little smile, hoping that it might be as charming as he thought it sounded. He thought it would be good to catch up over lunch, and he might be able to get to asking her out. It might be a bit fast but Valentines was right around the corner and he did want a date for that. "Yeah lets. Shall I carry your books for you?" he offered with a half joking expression, he would if she said yes, but he was more so saying it so to make a little fun.

Emily wasn't used to boys flirting with her. Was Daintree flirting with her? "Oh, um... Thank you?" She offered back, hesitating a bit. He offered to carry her books and she slowly shook her head no. "I'm... Okay, thank you though," she started down the hall, glancing to see if he was following her. "How have you been?" She asked, confused a little by how nice he was being.
