Gaia was loitering around the seventh floor corridor, contemplating whether or not she should ask one of the Gryffindors if they could fetch her sister for her. So far the Slytherin had done relatively well not wanting to talk to Mania and well her sister had done her best to make sure they spoke even when Gaia didn't want to. She was pacing now, there was really nothing she wanted to talk to the second year about but she kind of wanted to see her. Last they'd truly spoken she'd been a bit upset over a boy in Gaia's year. One she knew well enough herself, Gaia tried to reason that she just wanted to check and see if her sister was okay, that that was all she didn't actually want to spend time in her company or anything. Yet the first year couldn't turn around and walk back down to her own common room, maybe she did want company and Nia was all she had. It was kind of her own fault really, but she didn't know how to be anything but the way she was.

Since being separated from her siblings, Rose felt as though she'd lost a couple of limbs. While Ro knew that she was there to look after Rouge and Blanc, and from the trio it was often her that would quietly fix their problems before they became issues, Rose had only realised now how much she relied on them, too. It was in a different way of course, but she relied on her siblings to give her a goal in life, and it was because of them that she felt like she'd had purpose. But now? She wasn't accustomed to doing things for herself, or what it meant to have fun on her own. That simply wasn't how things worked.

Did Ro take the corridor past the Gryffindor common room incase either of her siblings were nearby and in trouble? Perhaps. On this occasion though the space was left somewhat dormant, all except for a redhead who stood a few feet away from the entrance. It was her hair that had caught Ro's eyes. It was strikingly bright. Not light red so much as vibrant, as though it would share the same glow from a fireplace. Rose slowly her walking down just a little, her mary jane shoes tapping on the stone with every step. "I like your hair," she smiled to the girl, trying not to show that she was a tiny bit envious.

Gaia was startled out of her thoughts by a voice, complimenting her hair? Turning around Gaia looked at the stray hairs falling from her bun around her face, it wasn't anything special. Her mama had often complained she looked so much like her baba's side of the family and so little like her side. But Nia looked so much like mama and she wasn't even happy with that so Gaia didn't rely too much on the woman's opinion because Merlin knew unless you were a son there'd be something to complain about. "I uh- Thank you?" The Slytherin said, almost questioningly. "I like yours too," She returned the compliment, she actually did like her hair so it was a genuine compliment. "You looking for someone?" Gaia asked after a few beats.

Rose was a little surprised the girl returned the compliment, her own dull blonde hair sitting in two flat braids against her shoulders. It was nothing special, and she assumed this girl was only saying it to be polite. "Thank you," it wasn't worth pointing out the fact that Rose disagreed. She paused in front of the girl, not quite sure whether or not she recognised her face. In truth even though they may have already had lessons together, she was usually so busy either looking at Freddie or her siblings to notice many of her other classmates yet. "No," she shook her head, although her eyes deceived her as she glanced toward the Gryffindor common room door. Perhaps the girl had asked because then she wouldn't have been the only one waiting for a lion to come past. Not wanting the girl to feel silly for asking though, Rose followed up, "My brother and sister are in there, but I'm not waiting for them. What about you?" she could only assume she'd asked because she was.

Gaia watched the other girl with suspicion really, she wasn't fully buying the fact that the other girl wasn't here for someone. Though who was she to tell what anyone was doing at this point, all she knew was she'd spotted this other girl in her lessons with Ravenclaws, which told her this was not her common room entrance. As the girl admitted her siblings were there the Slytherin returned her eyes to where the entrance lay. Biting the inside of her cheek she hesitated for a moment, but this girl had been honest in the end and deserved the same in return. "I'm not sure. I mean my sister is in there as well, but I am not sure why I am here..." Gaia admitted hesitantly, she truly wasn't sure why she'd been stood there for so long. She seemed not able to make up her mind whether or not she wanted to see Nia. "I just, I mean if she walked out right now I wouldn't be opposed I suppose but I am not exactly waiting around for her." The first year explained. Nope she wasn't a lost puppy who needed her sister at all times, she just wanted to make sure the brunette was okay. "Kind of just wanted to check in on her I guess." Gaia finally said, though much quieter than her previous admissions.
