One sunny afternoon after classes where over and her homework was in order Sapphire walked herself over to the frozen lake and crawled out on to one of the thinner parts of surface. It wasn't so thin that she could fall through but still thin enough for what she wanted to do. Sapphire had never been outside of Bella-Donna Manor until just before she got accepted into Hogwarts but she had read bout ice fishing before. Sapphire took out a chisel from her bag and started to make the hole in the ice.
As she did Sapphire thought about the friends that she had made here. She had been completely wrong in thinking that just because she didn't have a voice people would be mean to her. In fact she had a girl going out of her way to be nice to her because she was in essence a Mute. The teachers seemed to be nice about it too though she had been made to give a reason why she was refusing to talk. Sapphire showed them a scar on her neck that was completely unrelated to insendent that had taken her speech but it was good enough for them to leave her alone about it.
Sapphire hit the liquid under the ice then went back to her bag. She took out a ring that she had read was to keep the ice from covering the hole back up, a makeshift fishing pole, and a pair of magnifier goggles so that she could use them without the glasses that she now sported. Sapphire set up a blanket then cast her line into the little ice hole wondering if she would get lucky and catch a mermaid or something.
