Lanithro Styx begrudgingly walked up to the cliffs, and sat down a few yards from the edge, so that he could look over. He was still sulking over what happened last year. It wasn't something he told a lot of people, because it was so embarrassing, but apparently it happened and there was nothing he could do about it. At least Lyra had James, so he wouldn't go bother her for sympathy. Actually, the last thing he wanted was sympathy. He just wanted to be left alone. He wanted to sulk in his memories until he forgot about everything. He honestly wished he could have brought firewhiskey to school. He was seventeen, and could legally drink, but he was informed by his siblings that it was illegal to do so. He sighed as he thought about it, hating the rules and whatnot. And he did not want to be expelled for doing something so silly. He still had another year to go. He asked his dad if he could just drop out since he was going into the family business anyway, but Kalif said no, rather harshly. Lanithro could have begged his mom, but then again, his dad had total control so there was no point.

Lanithro tossed a small pebble and uttered, "This just blows. What am I even doing here anyway." As much as he wanted to wallow in self pity, it seemed like he was not going to be able to do that. His subconsciousness plagued his mind with thoughts of Lyra and Rome, and how he could not leave them behind since he thought the world of them. They were his closest friends, despite not getting on the best side of Lyra when they first met, dated, and ultimately broke up, mutually deciding that they were better friends.

Hamish should have been on patrol with two prefects, but that sounded like a complete, and total drag. He didn't want to be stuck with them. He just faked an incredible migraine and sent them on their merry way, whilst he himself swung by the kitchens for a few leftovers from dinner to nibble on whilst he wandered around 'patrolling', if anyone asked. Thank Christ Olivia wasn't his partner - he was sure he would end up shoving her out a window. Or worse, she would shove him out of a window, and that idea clashed with his plans on living until the ripe old age of one hundred and ten.

He wandered up the cliffs, in the end, finding the lawns to be too full of idiots trying to sneak to the forest. If they wanted to have a snoop, they could at least make a better effort of hiding and sneaking, it was rather embarrassing. Hopefully they would get eaten by a troll or something. The Cliffs weren't exactly abandoned, either, which was rather annoying. The guy looked vaguely familiar, but it was probably because he was blond and clearly old enough to be within a few years of him. Probably not the same year, as the head boy liked to think that he at least knew that much about his fellow classmates.

"Oi, mate," he called, closing the distance and sitting beside him, offering a pastry. "You're not supposed to be up here." Head boy duty complete, he relaxed and looked over the lake. "What're you doing up here, anyway? The climb's a b!tch."

Hearing a voice, Lanithro sighed before turning his head over his shoulder to see who it was. Of course, he just had to be caught by the Head Boy. Hamish Kaster. Of course Lanithro knew who this was. He wondered if he would be taken to Kingsley, but hopefully not. In the mood that he was in, Lanithro would likely end up scrubbing toilets for a month since he could never control his mouth. However, to his utter surprise, the Head Boy sat down next to him and offered him a treat. Well, Lanithro was not about to deny free food, so he took it. He looked at it carefully, judging that the Slytherin wouldn't want to prank him. "Trying to get some alone time to deal with hindering thoughts, but apparently that's not happening." Lanithro took a bite into the pastry, instantly lifting his mood slightly. Of course, sweets do something like that. He turned to look at the boy before asking, "What are you doing up here then, other than breaking the rules. Hopefully that badge of yours don't make your feel you are above the rules." Lanithro always came off as a rude person, and he understood it, but he also did not give a rat's arse about it either. The climb up never really bothered him. It might have been because he was slightly more athletic. But being in fights sort of did that to a person.
