Immy stepped out the school and headed towards the lake. For spring it was pretty warm and since Immy came from a country where 350 days out of a year it was cold and rainy, this hot weather was completely new to her. She was carrying a book, she'd bought just before coming to New Zealand. Garden spells, was the name of the book. Immy always it suited hogwarts well as Hogwart's gardens looked like they were under a spell to always look amazing. It didn't long for Immy to reach the lake. She sat down in the comfortable shade of the tree, opened her book and began to read.

^Lame^

[ooc lol dont worry i've always sucked at starting threads]

Neita was wandering around the lake, looking for something to do, so saw a girl sitting under a tree reading. The Hufflepuff girl walked up to her "Can I join you?" you asked smiling friendly.

Immy looked up when she heard a girl speaking. The girl looked a little older than Immy but not by much. Immy moved over slightly and smiled politely at the girl. She closed her book slightly and nodded.

"Yes sure. Sit." Immy said smiling at the girl. "I'm Imogen or Immy." Immy added holding her hand out to the girl in a polite friendly fashion.

The girl scooted over and Neita smiled 'Im getting better at this making friends thing' she thought to herself. She sat down next to the younger looking girl and accepted her hand "Neita Wright" she said smiling friendly.

As silence passed over them Neita bit her lip 'what do I say now?' she asked herself. "What do you think of Hogwarts so far?" she asked hopping the girl really was a first year and mentally kicking herself for asking such a pointless qestion.

Immy smiled as the girl sat down, Neita. It was a little awkward but Immy knew it would be good to make more friends. She'd be here for a while and she didn't want to spend most of it alone, though every so often alone time was needed. She looked up at Neita as she asked Immy a question. Immy nodded excitedly. She loved it, to put it briefly.

"It's amazing. I love it." Immy said. Immy had a very light soft sounding english accent, and it was hinted with a little welsh. Though most people just assumed that she was english. "The classes, the people, the weather. I love it. What year are you in? I'm going to say second year, maybe a third year." Immy smiled brightly at the girl sitting beside her.

Neita giggled, she had no reason to feel uncomfortable Immy could definatly hold her own in a conversation.

The second year looked at the younger girl in fake suprise "Sixth year" she said nodding her head. She paused for a moment "Nah you got it on your first go, second year." she giggled

Immy smiled brightly when she found she'd guessed correctly. Immy had never really been great at guessing what age people were or what year but this time she'd managed it. Immy nodded.

"Second year. Cool"Immy said "What's second year like?"

[lame, sorry]

Neita giggled "Honestly? Not that different from first year!" She smiled "What a bummer aye?"

The second year smiled in thought "Where are you from?" she asked hoping to be able to get to know Immy a bit better.

Immy figured that 2nd year wasn't much different from first year but Immy couldn't say that wasn't a little annoyed by the fact it was similar. Immy smiled at the girl.

"Aberystwyth in Wales, UK." Immy said proudly, she was very happy to be one of the few people who weren't from New Zealand or Australia. She loved Wales and knew she'd most likely not move to New Zealand until she was a lot older. "What about you?"

Neita grinned, interested "Really thats so cool!" she sighed "Im from Brisbane, Australia but i have pacific blood in me"

The second year thought for a moment "Did your family move here?"

Immy shook her head. She'd not moved. She was more or less in New Zealand for a long holiday known as school. Immy smiled at the girl.

"Brisbane, cool."Immy said. "No, they didn't. They are still back home in Wales. It would be too hard to move here just so I could go to school. I don't mind. I like the freedom it gives me. Is Australia quite similar to New Zealand or is it different?" Immy asked curious.

Neita smiled "Wow thats so cool! Does it make you feel more homesick? How do you get here? You dont fly the whole way do you?" the second year rushed excited.

She paused for a moment as she thought "They're similar in some ways but very different in others. I prefer Australia..." she said slowly.

Immy nodded. She'd flown most of the way, she had had to get a few trains but they hadn't been to hard to get. Immy smiled brightly.

"I get a little homesick but not much and I flew by plane most of the way. I landed in Wellington and got a train to Auckland, it was easier to do than I had first thought it would be. It was a long flight though. 20 hours or something crazy like that." Immy said with a smile. "Did you fly from Australia?"

Neitas eyes opened "Wow 20 hours?" She sighed "My family travelled alot and we had a house in Palmeston north so when they found out I was a witch and needed to go to hogwarts, they temporarily moved the family back to New Zealand"

The Hufflepuff girl pouted "I wish I couldve flew, my my parents said our neigbours and street and that might see me AND i dont have my own broom"

Immy nodded. She hadn't flown by broom, it would've been crazy too. Plus Immy had only just learned how to fly. She smiled brightly.

"I don't think I'd ever want to fly on a broom from Wales to New Zealand. I wouldn't last." Immy said. "Are you good at flying?" Immy asked curiously, she thought she was okay for what she could do already. Though she knew there would be more practice needed before she tried out for the teams.

Neita giggled as Immy said there was no way she would fly from Wales to New Zealand. "I love flying" Neita stated "And I got and O in it last year."

She grinned "You enjoying flying?"

Immy smiled and nodded. It was one of her favourite subjects and she that at the end of the year she'd be upset to do be able to do it any more. She will at that have learn all that she could about the subject.

"I love it. It's so freeing and different." Immy said excitedly. "What's your favourite subject?"

Neita grinned "It was flying..." Her voice drifted off "I really loved flying... but since its not one of my subjects anymore..." she thought for a moment "Probably Transfiguration. What about you?"

Immy nodded, she smiled before looking out to the lake trying to think about what her favourite subject was. It was hard as she hadn't done all the subjects yet but Immy knew if she had to pick one of the ones she was doing right now, it would between two. DADA and Flying. Though they'd still not done much in each class Immy really enjoyed the lessons.

"I'm not too sure. Either DADA or Flying. I haven't done all the subject so that might change. I like them all really." Immy said smiling. "You get to pick your electives this year don't you?"

Neita grinned "Really? I couldnt stand Defence against Dark Arts!" she giggled.

The Hufflepuff girls' face scrunched up "We get to pick them end of this year and we take them next year. I have absolutly no idea what Im gunna take!"

Immy smiled and gave a small giggle. Maybe it was later in the course that she would hate it. It would all depend.

"Maybe I won't be able to stand it later." Immy said smiling cheerfully. Immy was very interested in what subjects you could pick and how many."How many can you pick?"

A look of complete confusin crossed Neitas face "I'm not sure..." She thought for a moment "I heard eight?" The second year sighed "Im not even sure of what electives are available. Im assuming they'll let us know later in the year"

Immy nodded. She'd read a little into the electives that were picked in second year but thought she probably needed to read over it more to understand it. Immy smiled brightly at Neita.

"Most likely." Immy said with a nod of her head. "Okay, random question. What is your favourite colour of all time?" Immy asked smiling. It was a quick change of subject but there was nothing like a random out of the blue question to help build friendship.

Neita grinned at the random question, she enjoyed randomness as she was quite random herself "Hmmm" Neita said thoughtfully "I think its a close tie between baby blue, light purple and baby rose pink." she giggled "Im gunna go with... baby blue. Whats yours?"
