Ever since the Summer had ended and she had started back at school Lea had longed to return to France and vacation once more with the fiery haired boy she was sure had been sent to her by something or someone divine. That fiery haired boy was Merrick Reynolds and he was the most amazing person she had ever had the pleasure of meeting. As her family ate cooked meals and lounged by the pool, Lea had grabbed a sandwich and a handful of poppy seeds and ran to the nearby beach every morning in the hopes she would run into Merrick. Their first meeting had been a little awkward, after all he had accidentally seen her knickers, but after they had gotten over that Lea only found more and more they had in common. Sharing Lea's sandwich for lunch and chasing each other into the water the seventeen year old had found herself happier than she had ever been before, but now all she had was his name and a picture of the gift he had given her to remind her of him. Standing in the North Tower Lea produced the photo which to any other was just a photo of a crab, but it reminded her of her best friend whom she had nervously kissed goodbye on the cheek before running off without saying a word. With graduation fast approaching and a guest allocation to fill Lea looked down at the picture of the orange crab (the same orange of his hair) Merrick had given her and knew it was time for them to come into contact again.

Merry,
My fiery haired friend! Sorry for leaving the beach without saying a word, I was just so sure that I didn't want the last words I said to you to be a good bye. It feels like forever since I left France and I really wish I hadn't. All I want to do is meet you again and skip along to a park with a picnic basket and share another sandwich together. School has started up again, and I feel as though time is moving so quickly, graduation is almost coming up. I guess that is what I was writing to you about, I'm not sure if its too much trouble, or even if you want to meet up again, but my graduation is ever so soon and I'd love it if you'd come to New Zealand and be my guest!

Let me know, maybe you could even bring me another wonderful crab!
Lea
