Arianna sat cross legged by the Lake, staring out at the water. Picking up a pebble, she tossed it into the Lake, watching the ripples fade slowly outwards. It was Christmas day, she'd had a good morning with Viv, but she just wasn't feeling happy. She'd been blaming it on the hot weather, which was partly true. She still wasn't used to hot Christmases. Luckily though, she would be going home to Canada the next morning, where she could have a cold, snowy Christmas, and leave school completely behind. She twisted the peanut butter necklace that she always wore, around her fingers.
Taking off her jandals, she dangled her feet in the lake, curling her toes under when the hit the cold water. She had worn shorts and a light shirt, but she was still too hot. I need snow she thought.
