A Little Deeper
Personality: At the South American Ministry of Magic they expect their workers to live by three standards. Pride, Honer, and Respect. This is what Jaylisa tries to up hold even in the years after she had been out of it. She is a muggleborn and thinks of her magic as a tool not as her way of life. She takes almost everything very seriously and will tell you if your wrong. This does not mean she doesn't know how to have fun but it takes a very special occasion for this passionate Latina to take her hair down.
Special Talents/Abilities: Jaylisa as made up a way of mixing wand movements with Capueta the Brazilian marshal art. She is skilled at wandless and non-verbal magic.
History: Jaylisa is a muggle born witch with an interesting past. As a child at the age of seven she was thought as a holy child by the people of the town that they lived in. It was because of the random bits of magic that she did when ever she felt a deep sadness for someone. Her parents not native to Guatemala but understanding of their customs went along with what was being said about her.
They had reseved a letter about Jaylisa's magic from the Central American Ministry of Magic when the first sign came up. If they had spread what that Jaylisa was a witch than she would have most likely have been shunned from the close community. It seemed that Jaylisa's only thought where about healing and when she couldn't do what was asked of her people thought it was because of their lack of faith. At the age of eleven she got the letter to go the Institute. Though she was sad to leave Section five she was excited to learn more about the magic in her vanes.
There she made good friends, good grades and was thought to be a natural to go into the ministry as a Minister or something of the sort. Jaylisa did an unexpected thing. The magical murder of her parents along with the betrayal of one of her friends convinced her to give up her magic for about eight years. Another report of a magical murder in the village that she was living in made her go back to the wizarding world.
She took a job as a clerk for the Department of Mysteries. All it entitled was that she know how to sort and keep a secret. It was in there that she met her new best friend, Dr. Varilla Bean. It was this woman that incuraged her to become an Auror. It seemed suited for Jay seeing as she had a very strong sense of justice. Five years later, At Varilla's side that they discovered the feral child that they named Jack Leon. She adopted him as her child while Varilla studied him and his behaver. Jaylisa had grown to love him as her son but got word that there had been an increase in Death Eater activity in New Zealand.
She packed up her things and moved leaving Jack in the care of Varilla while she came here to see if she could help 'clean house' as it where. Here in New Zealand she hopes to get the job done as well as make a few new friends.
